Because she had been living in Kang Jun's home and because she was too busy playing with Kang Mingyu, usually, she had almost completely forgotten how outgoing and charming Kang Jun was on text.

With every text he sent her, Lu AnLing's heart would buzz with happiness and excitement. Though, in her mind, she still wanted to hear how it would sound like if those words were to come out of Kang Jun's perfect lips.

Thinking about it, Lu AnLing sighed.

Quickly, she tried her best to stop thinking about it and began to do her job. She went to change into her outfit of the day and then she went to see Madame Liu.

Examining Lu AnLing's outfit, Madame Liu nodded in approval.

This, as Lu AnLing understood, meant that it was time for her to go on stage.

Lu AnLing was about to do just that but then suddenly, her eyes landed on a familiar old man who sat closer to the stage as she had told him to do. When she had seen him with Sheng, the man had still been sitting farther away, but seeing that he had moved, Lu AnLing smiled and then she headed towards a waitress.

"Could you do me a favor?" Lu AnLing asked.

Once she had gotten the girls okay, Lu AnLing arranged for the server to bring the elder a glass of water every hour and to take care of him if he ever needed anything.

Since he had been gone for so long, Lu AnLing was going to talk to the old man once she had finished her shift.

Lu AnLing completely ignored Sheng's warning about the man. After all, he seemed like a sweet old man, but fate did not seem to be on her side today, because once she had her break, two figures entered the lounge.

"Mian!" Madame Liu said with excitement before she wrapped her arms around Xiao Mian.

"Auntie!" Xiao Mian called as she reciprocated the hug.

From behind Xiao Mian walked Yang Yize who greeted Madame Liu respectfully.

Seeing the three out of the corner of her eye, especially Yang Yize, made Lu AnLing's head begin to hurt.

Lu AnLing purposely ignored the three since she was a few seats away from them. To make it seem as if she wasn't ignored them though, she sneakily snuck her earbuds into her ears but this didn't help her at all.

Lu AnLing didn't like when Xiao Mian came to visit. The problem itself wasn't her herself but with how Madame Liu became.

It was obvious how much Madame Liu cared about Xiao Mian but at the same time, Lu AnLing thought it was a little bit too much. Maybe it was because Lu AnLing couldn't understand how it felt to be doted upon by an adult and that was why she was so critical but the fact that Madame Liu felt like a fake and a hypocrite in Xiao Mian's presence made everything worse.

After Xiao Mian let go of Madame Liu, her eyes immediately fell on Lu AnLing. She ran up to the girl and put her hand on her shoulder lovingly.

Feeling the touch, Lu AnLing internally groaned before she took off her earpiece.

"Here, I got you this!" Xiao Mian said shoving a small black velvet box into her hands. "Yize got it for me a long time ago but I think it would suit you better."

Lu AnLing examined the box. She felt reluctant to open it but Xiao Mian urged her to do it. Feeling annoyed, Lu AnLin opened the box to see a beautiful emerald ring. Seeing it, Lu AnLing's eyebrows knitted.

It must have cost a small fortune.

Lu AnLing wanted to frown but she ended up forcing herself to smile. "Xiao Mian… isn't it wrong to regift something your fiancé gave you?"

"Not at all," Xiao Mian answered with a soft smile before she turned to look at Yang Yize. "You don't mind right honey?"

"O-of course not,"

Truth be told, that was one of the first presents Yang Yize had given to Xiao Mian. In actuality, it was one of the presents he had bought for Lu AnLing during their first year of dating but he had never gotten the courage to give it to her.

Lu AnLing was a simple girl. Yang Yize knew this. She would much rather be given a book or something practical like a notepad to write music in. Things like jewelry were never a priority for the girl.

But now, seeing Xiao Mian give Lu AnLing the present originally mean't for her, Yang Yize's heart began to reminisce to simpler times.

It was as if it was meant to find its way back to her.

Accepting it, Lu AnLing smiled at Xiao Mian. Then her phone suddenly began to buzz. Seeing Lu AnLing look at her phone, Xiao Mian took this as a cue to turn and speak to Madame Liu for a moment.

Meanwhile, Lu AnLing starred at her phone lovingly.

King Kang: [You look beautiful in that dress, I can't wait until we're alone.]

Lu AnLing: [ And why is that?]

King Kang: [Because I can't wait to take my time taking it off of you.]

Lu AnLing: [Too bad. This doesn't belong to me. I'll have to take it off before you can do anything…]

King Kang: [Oh well, either way, no matter what you're wearing it won't matter.]

Lu AnLing pursed her lips while reading this.

Lu AnLing: [And why not?]

King Kang: [Because anything you wear will end up on the bedroom floor.]

Usually, Lu AnLing could assume what another person was going to say but, for some reason, there were moments when Lu AnLing's brain didn't function properly. In these moments, she would completely disregard the tone and the mood being evoked and she would be like a newborn babe; with no dirty thoughts whatsoever.

Right then, when Lu AnLing had asked her question, she was completely serious, and so, when Kang Jun's answer came in, her whole body warmed and turned a deep shade of red.

Lu AnLing quickly flipped her phone around before putting both her hands on her face.

She took deep breaths so she could calm down but she sincerely couldn't. This had caught her completely off guard and now, she was beginning to have expectations and so, her body was preparing itself to receive Kang Jun's touch.

Almost instinctively, Lu AnLing felt her lower body contract and her nipples harden.

Feeling this, Lu AnLing couldn't help but frown despite the fact that she was still blushing hard.

'Kang Jun you idiot!' Lu AnLing internally screamed.

As Lu AnLing continued to freak out, Yang Yize gave her a strange look. At first, Lu AnLing hadn't noticed it, but as she was trying to calm herself down she had noticed the man's gaze. It had almost turned her off, but when she felt her phone buzz for the second time Lu AnLing's state of sexual arousal and giddiness returned.

However, she didn't answer it because, if she did, Lu AnLing feared that Yang Yize would see the name and connect two and two together.
