This was because the girl wanted to give Kang Mingyu a place where he could feel safe and so she barely left his side, but today, she had no choice.

Lu AnLing: "Sweetheart, I'll only be gone one night. Tomorrow we can sleep together and have lots of fun, okay?"

Hearing this, Kang Mingyu was still reluctant to answer. Tears even began to form at the corners of his eyes. This caused Lu AnLing to be taken aback, so much so that she had the urge to tell Sheng that he was on his own.

Seeing the scene, Kang Jun went up to Kang Mingyu and then quickly picked him up.

The boy struggled in Kang Jun's embrace, but all Lu AnLing could do was look at the two with pain in her eyes.

"Kang Mingyu, don't you see that you're making auntie sad?" Kang Jun scolded the boy with a soft yet stern voice.

Hearing this, Kang Mingyu stopped his struggle and then looked Lu AnLing dead in the face. He quickly noticed the hurt in her eyes. This caused the little boy's heart to drop. It hurt him to see that negative emotion on Lu AnLing's face.

"I'm sorry…" the boy began to murmur.

Lu AnLing walked up to him and kissed him on the cheek. "I'm also sorry. I'll miss you so so much, but I need to go today."

The sincerity in Lu AnLing's voice touched Kang Mingyu's heart.

The boy began to nod furiously.

Then Kang Jung whispered words into the boy's ear. Listening to Kang Jun, Kang Mingyu's eyes began to sparkle. Once Kang Jun stopped speaking, both boys looked at Lu AnLing with love in their eyes.

Kang Mingyu: "I'll be a good boy, so don't worry and have fun. I love you."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing's heart almost burst out of her chest in happiness. It was so potent that she didn't even know if she could describe the feeling with words.

"I-I love you too, sweetheart."

Watching them, Kang Jun once more felt like a third wheel and this time, he was furiously jealous.

Kang Jun was taken aback when the little boy had proclaimed his love for the girl, the only other person bold enough to do that was himself but he had never gotten a reply. He wanted to hear her say that to him also, but it wasn't the moment to ask for this.

Kang Jun just let the two in front of his eyes feel each other's love.

Due to Rong Xin's decisive driving, it didn't take long for Lu AnLing to get to the airport. Once there Lu AnLing gazed around for Sheng. It didn't take her long to find him. Not too far away, a beautiful man with light brown hair stood as the afternoon sun shined down on him accentuating the beautiful contours of his small face. If his hair wasn't styled in a buzz cut and if he wasn't wearing male clothing, one could easily mistake him for a beautiful woman.

"Sheng, get your ass over here!" Lu AnLing called from the window. She didn't even bother getting out.

Hearing this, Sheng carried his luggage and headed towards the taxi. He put his luggage in the back of the taxi before he entered the back seat.

Usually, when two people sat in the back, a person would leave the middle free but Sheng scooted over so he could sit right beside Lu AnLing before he hugged her.

"Long time no see, you look so good. Who's been taking care of you?"

Lu AnLing rolled her eyes. "Hello, Sheng."

Noticing that she didn't answer him, Sheng gave her a curious look before he smirked. "Oh… I see… you have a boyfriend now."

Lu AnLing raised an eyebrow. "Why would you assume that? And so, what if I do?"

Hearing this, Sheng gave a small laugh.

"I'm happy for you."

Sheng didn't ask to be introduced to the man or anything. He knew when to keep his distance, mostly when it involved Lu AnLing's relationships. His friendship with the girl had caused some trouble back in high school but he didn't want to lose his best bud and neither did Lu AnLing so they both dealt with the problems that came their way.

But when it came time for Sheng to meet Yang Yize, the man tried his best to stay as far away from Lu AnLing's relationship as possible because it was obvious that Yang Yize was foolishly in love with the girl which caused him to become furiously jealous of Sheng.

In those three years, the friendship between Lu AnLing and Sheng had turned a bit awkward.

Not wanting to experience this again, Sheng completely changed the conversation despite starting it.

Sheng: "So, you found me a place to stay?"

"Yes, and I promise you'll love it. It's the place I use to live!" Lu AnLing said matter-of-factly.

Once they arrived there, Lu AnLing led Sheng to the room where he would be staying. Once he entered, he nodded in satisfaction before he threw his suitcase on the floor and then jumped onto the bed, relaxing a bit.

The two friends spent some time in the room talking. Before they knew it the sun was beginning to set. Suddenly, Sheng bolted up in bed.

Sheng: "Oh, I almost forgot. I brought presents! Though I'll show you them later. I want to eat first."

Sheng and Lu AnLing walked out of the room. They wanted to go get a bite to eat but Sheng was too lazy to go somewhere far and not lazy enough to order room service so they ended up eating at the restaurant at the top of floor of Hotel Helios.

Lu AnLing had never eaten there but she knew that the place was pretty famous. It had actually become even more famous a couple of years back.

Thanks to her husbands work, Lu AnLing assumed.

Before Lu AnLing left the room she texted Rong Xin to tell him where she was going.

"My lady!" Sheng said as he curtsied to Lu AnLing.

Seeing the stupid way Sheng acted always made Lu AnLing giggle and this time was no different.

"Stop acting like a fool." She said before walking into the elevator.

"Rather than me being a fool, aren't you being a stick in the mud. Did your new boyfriend not fuck you enough."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing's face turned red and black simultaneously. Out of annoyance, Lu AnLing punched Sheng's arm hard and frowned. Feeling the hit, Sheng cried out in pain.

Lu AnLing: "That is none of your business, you pervert."

"Maybe I am, but I'm right aren't I?" Sheng gave Lu AnLing a knowing stare before he snapped his fingers at her. "Anyway, let's go eat! I'm famished!"

Watching Sheng stroll out the elevator Lu AnLing sighed and thanked the lord that Kang Jun wasn't there to hear this or else she would be devastated.

At a table for two, illuminated by candlelight, Sheng and Lu AnLing sat talking about the time they'd been apart and what the other had been doing. They texted a lot but they seldom got too deep into how their lives had been unless it involved Lu AnLing's search for her child.

Sheng: "… M-mo Yichen personally asked you to sign a contract with Halo Star's Entertainment? Are you fucking kidding me?!"

"I kid you not." Lu AnLing flipped her hair sassily over her shoulders. "I'm just that good!"

"So…" Sheng crossed his legs under the table and leaned forward curiously. "Are you going to sign with Halo Stars?"

"Nope."

Sheng's smile disappeared. "And why not?"

"There's no point…" As she spoke this Lu AnLing waved her hand in the air, dismissing any possibility of debuting for Halo Stars Entertainment.

Sheng furrowed his eyebrows and leaned closer to the girl. His nose almost touching the candle flame.

Sheng: "Are you stupid? Of course there's a point! You could be a star! How about this, If I get sighed by Halo Stars then you have to debut along with me?"

Lu AnLing bust out in laughter. She laughed so much that her stomach began to hurt and her eyes began to water.

"Hahaha! What makes you say that they'll want to sign you?"

To her words, Sheng scoffed. "Lu AnLing, don't play dumb! It's because I'm handsome and talented, of course."

Lu AnLing pointed her finger towards her mouth and pretended as if she was gagging. Seeing this, Sheng put his hand on his chest and gave her a face that expressed that he was being wronged.

Sheng: "Sweetie, I'm more beautiful than every girl in this room and yes, I'm including you. You're lucky that I'm a man or else I would have stolen your man already."

Lu AnLing wanted to say, 'I doubt anyone can steal my man. You'd probably pee your pants if you saw who I married' but she didn't dare. Instead, she just said,

"Whatever."

After saying this, Lu AnLing left Sheng to go to the bathroom. As she was walking back, her shoulder brushed up against a man's.

"I'm sorry…" Lu AnLing said politely, but once she heard the man speak, her whole body froze.

"I think you should save that apology for your boyfriend." The male voice said.

Lu AnLing recognized the voice without having to look at him but she still turned to look at him anyways. Seeing Yang Yize, Lu AnLing frown. He wearing a retro blue suit with a hurt expression. Looking at the hurt on his face, Lu AnLing felt as if she was boiling with anger.

Lu AnLing: "I don't know what you're talking about."

The girl began to leave.

Who was Yang Yize to but into her personal life? And what did her boyfriend have anything to do with him?

Already she had the urge to punch the man. She couldn't believe that she had fallen in love with a piece of trash! And this became worse when he spoke once more.

"I really do feel sorry for your boyfriend," Yang Yize repeated before throwing her a fiery glance, " I can't believe you're cheating on him, also."

Furiously, Lu AnLing turned around and frowned harder.

"Yang Yize! What are you even talking about?!"
