PROLOGUE

Ben's eyes fluttered open, and he was met with an unfamiliar sight. The dim light of his room seemed to be fading, replaced by a harsh, unfamiliar glow. He tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over him, forcing him back onto the bed.

As he struggled to clear his mind, a faint humming noise began to emanate from the walls. The sound grew louder, and the air around him began to distort. Ben's stomach churned with a mix of fear and confusion.

Suddenly, a low, raspy voice spoke directly into his mind. "Son, get ready for the breakfast."

Ben's heart skipped a beat as he realized who was speaking to him. His mother. But as he looked down, his eyes widened in horror. Her body had transformed into a grotesque, humanoid monstrosity, its skin stretched taut over its bones.

"No, Mother!" Ben screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the sound of the humming noise, which had grown into a deafening roar.

And then, everything went black.
