Our Chaoz; Our Reality Ch 11 - The unexpected

"One with the wind! Blessing of wind!" Lilior chanted as turbulent winds raged around her flying form as she flew forwards right as Kyle sprinted forward from his crouching form in the snow, the winds raged on as they rushed into Kyle and flowed around his feet increasing his agility.

"Beast's blood! Rage!" Kyle chanted as a sudden red aura engulfed his body while his hair, ears and tail gained a tinge of crimson. He dashed forward as his stats increased from the buffs, his silver eyes following a single target, the Snow Blur. The hare immediately leaped away and began to dash in a single direction, away from Kyle. He squinted his eyes as the Snow Blur gained speed thanks to its nimble body and dashed way ahead of him, Kyle bit his lip as the crimson on his hair seemed to take over a bit more white "You're not getting away!" he shouted with a slight growl. He bent down onto all fours as he approached a tree in his path, the Snow Blur simply dashed around it with insane agility. Kyle crashed straight into the tree legs and fists first as he immediately gripped onto the bark, claws grew out from his fingers as others tore through his shoes.

Lilior stared in awe as Kyle climbed up the tree with incredible speed, utilising both sets of claws he climbed as pieces of bark fell behind him while claw marks were left behind.

Suddenly he turned mid climb and using his hands he gripped tightly onto the tree, he momentarily stood sideways on the tree as he lifted his lower body up and smashed it down in front of him into a front flip. Kyle slid down the tree a bit as he moved around it nimbly before crashing down his legs and gripping back to the bark, he looked down just as Lilior caught up to him.

"Master! I lost it!" she announced while fidgeting anxiously with her dress.

"I haven't" Kyle growled with a smirk as he released the claw's grip on the tree and pushed forth with all fours, he leaped forth and away from the tree leaving a trail of red aura behind. "Gah!" He grunted as he grabbed hold of another tree's bark right before leaping off again with a crunch as the bark broke beneath the force, he leaped from tree to tree as the Snow Blur continuously changed directions trying to lose him.

Kyle got closer and closer to the ground with each leap as he jumped between five different trees, cornering the terrified hare in the middle as it ran in circles. With a sudden crunch of snow Kyle crashed down into the ground as the Hare rushed towards him, it's body going limp from the sudden scare and vicinity of it's predator. Kyle's right arm rushed forward and crashed down onto the Snow Blur locking down, he took in deep breathes as he released his magic while staring down at the hare. A couple notifications followed with the end of combat

Kyle smiled as he opened his skill book and read his new skills' effects, Lilior flew down to him "A new skill master?" she asked curiously. He nodded as he finished reading the effects

"Mobility is always welcome" he chucked as he closed the skill book windows, he looked down at his right set of claws as they held down the trembling Snow Blur "Good thing you told me about chanting my mana into skills Lilior, it's seems like not only does using mana make them stronger but increase the skill experience gained" his fingers had grown longer and thicker as thick silver claws replaces his nails growing to about three centimetres in length.

"At will huh?" Kyle thought as he imagined the claws reforming back into normal and so they did with a slightly disturbing crunching sound of bone, Lilior grimaced at the sound of bones switching and turning within flesh. Kyle chuckled at the sight "Freaky" he whispered to himself, he stood up holding the immobile Snow Blur by it's neck.

"M..mma…mas…" Lilior struggled to speak as she stuttered and trembled by his side.

Kyle glanced at her "What is it Lilior?" he asked her.

She shook herself and spoke "We're surrounded master" with fear in her voice.

Kyle's eyes widened as he glanced around the trees "By what?" he asked as he heard crunching snow signalling something moving.

Lilior gulped down her saliva "Direwolves" she said while holding onto his shoulder trembling in fear, Kyle grimaced as he searched the trees around him.

The crunching of snow behind him sent a chill down his spine as he slowly glanced back, there it was staring deep into his soul with ice blue cold eyes. With half of it's body peeking out from behind a tree the large wolf stared at him, snow white fur with some patches of light grey, dried blood around its snout as two long fangs curved out of the wolf's upper jaw over it's lower lips. It made no sound as it continued to stare, Kyle's eyes drifted from it's sharp fangs, piercing eyes and down to it's paws large enough for a single one to hold his whole body down as sharp long claws slowly opened up on the snow.

The sudden crunching of snow alerted Kyle to turn around as more wolves dashed around the trees around him, he turned back to the one wolf only to notice it was no longer there. Agitation set in as he glanced around the trees to see the forms of large white and grey wolves stepping out from behind the trees, he was completely surrounded by either wolf or tree. ("Shit…well…good run…I'm dead…I will ask Sly to help me get the next one…") he thought as his shoulders slumped down, Lilior glanced at him from behind as she continued to tremble in fear.

One of the closer Direwolves growled as it stepped towards him, only to step two back as it's survival instincts overwrote it's curiosity and hunger. All the wolves growled and gnarled as Kyle looked back up and glanced at the lot of them "As if I'm just going to stand down and give the fuck up" a smirk plastered on his face as he inspected the beasts and studied his stamina bar ("90 out 147 stamina, 40 out of 110 mana and rising")

His mind raced as he planned his next step ("Three visible mobs, one elite, levels too high to engage alone") one of the wolves took another step towards him ("Priority…") he glanced down at the Snow blur in his hand and a sudden realization came to him ("Fuck…forgot to bank my gold…"). He sighed "I guess it's time to play" he spoke while clenching his fist ("Remember the feeling…It's the same feeling") he thought back to his beta testing of DVR and the virtual trials the scientists let him take part of, ("Don't feel it...think of it…remember it…know it…now chant the spell") "Beast's blood! Rage!" he chanted the spell infusing his mana with the skill as a rush of red aura engulfed his body along with the crimson returning to his hair.

The Direwolves' patience ran out as a sudden rush of blue aura engulfed every single beast, the Alpha with a scarred left eye gnarled and leaped at Kyle as the blue aura revolved around it's body. "Lilior hold on!" Kyle shouted as in a moment he lowered his body while claws took form on his fingers and toes, Lilior rushed into the neck of his shirt as Kyle released his breath and rushed forth, towards the leaping Alpha.

Within moments Kyle's eyes glanced around hundreds of times as he rushed beneath the Alpha's leap, the wolf's back claws cutting at his right shoulder making him grimace in pain. "Beast's swiftness! Surge!" he chanted the words putting his full belief in them, the red aura around him twisted with the still active Blessing of wind as both powers twirled around his rushing form a third joined.

It was only an instant, a blink of the eye, as a burst of green aura rushed out of his lower body. Kyle surged forward as if momentarily blinking out of existence, the snow melted beneath each step as he leaped forward nonstop while occasionally activated Surge. The howling of wolves chased closely behind him as the beasts crashed through snow and tree with terrifying power, clawing away at the tree bark to match Kyle's sudden changes in direction.

Kyle surged to the left as the Alpha's form crashed down on where he last stood, claw and fang crashing into the snow followed by a rush of blue aura that blasted the rest away. He continued to run as his mana and stamina continued to drain, the wolves continuing to give in to the restless chase. ("36 stamina, 12 mana…") Kyle thought after evading the Alpha for the third time with Surge, he continued to run using the trees for cover.

His eyes suddenly went wide as a change of the scenery occurred in front of him, a small opening in the trees gave way as he squinted to see what lay within it. A small hill rose from the ground like a lump of earth, a large gash like opening in it's side ("Cave!") Kyle thought as he surged to the right and ran towards it. Kyle glanced back as he was about to enter the dark cave, the Alpha wolf crashing through a tree as it gnarled at him in hatred, it's aura grabbing at the tree's bark as it lashed out around it. Kyle surged into the cave without a second thought, surprised by the sudden drop he held onto himself as he fell down.

Almost immediately he stretched out his arms and legs beneath himself as he fell, the ground presented itself soon after as a loud crash echoed throughout the cave. Kyle slid through the slanted ground a couple steps before physics took over and his body flipped sideways, he rolled multiple times before crashing into the cave's wall shoulder first, a loud crunch ending his movement. "Fuck" he cursed as he pulled himself up from the ground with one arm, the other laying limp at his side. Kyle rested his back to the wall as he sat there and stared up at the opening of the cave, a good storey or two of a drop.

He continued to stare deep in thought as the Alpha's form stepped into view, the wolf stared down into the cave as it's companions walked over to take a peek. They growled and snarled at Kyle making his heart drop in fear, before turning and stepping away from the cave. Kyle rested his head back onto the wall as he chuckled and grunted in pain "Monster habitats…" he whispered in thought, a pained smile on his lips ("A common system in MMORPGs, monsters have set habitats they move within…some habitats lay within others…this cave…I need to move quick") he thought as he pushed himself to stand.

Lilior flew out of his shirt slightly bruised "Remove thy ailments! Blessing of water! Heal thy wounds! Blessing of life!" she quickly chanted as sparks of blue and green light flew out of her outstretched arms falling over Kyle's body.

He glanced up at his resource bars "34 out of 310 health…no stamina due to exhaustion…7 mana…" he watched as his health bar slowly rose along with the mana bar while his stamina bar rose at a much slower rate, "Thanks Lilior" he chuckled as his health regenerated due to her healing and stamina due to her removing Exhaustion.

She floated down to his good shoulder, worry all over her face. 

He held onto the wall as he searched the cave with limited light "Master you need to rest!" Lilior pleaded as she held onto his shirt.

Kyle smiled at her "It's not over yet…This cave…it's not the Direwolve's habitat…then who's is it?". He looked around at the cave, a large opening close to an average school hall with a the only source of light coming from the only opening being a gash in the roof's corner. The ground was slightly slanted upwards towards the exit but not enough to reach it, giving the exit a large drop to climb. Kyle held onto his shoulder as he walked towards the exit, his eyes darting around the cave where the light didn't reach, being more than half of it.

Sweat poured down his skin as he stood still in the middle of the cave, the sound of dripping liquid coming from the darkest corner of the cave. "Lilior…was there water dripping when we came in?" he asked as his face suddenly lost all colour, coming to a sudden realisation he turned and darted towards the exit, the sound of liquid rushing towards him as he ran. Kyle leaped up and tried to grip onto the rock with his claws but couldn't get one as he slid back down, frantically clawing away at the wall. "Shit! Shit ! shit! Fuck!" he cursed as he reached the floor, his hands and feet even more bruised than before.

The sound of liquid dripping, the sound of liquid rushing over the ground filled his ears as he turned to look behind him.

"Master…" Lilior gripped onto his shoulder as she stared at the darkness in worry and confusion, unknown to her the danger they fell upon.

Kyle grimaced as the creature finally entered the light, an almost transparent tentacle of blue slime peaked out of the shadows as it twitched sensitively at the light. Kyle stared almost petrified as the living blue solid liquid flowed all around him as more tentacles grew out and stretched towards him, a sudden squeak and screech brought him out of his daze.

He glanced towards the sound as he saw the Snow Blur thrashing in pain as the blue slime gripped onto it from the shadows, Kyle grimaced as he rushed forth and grabbed hold of the Snow Blur's leg. He pulled and released the hare from the slime's acidic grip, burns and hairless patches could be seen all over the Snow Blur's body. The creature continued to thrash in Kyle's grip as the pain settled, it went limp yet again momentarily afterwards.

Kyle watched in disgust as the tentacles of blue fell back into the shadows, "Are they…afraid of me?" he whispered as the blobs of blue flowed back into the cave's darkness. A single drop of slime suddenly fell on his head making his face go paler as he glanced up, a large blob of blue unsticking itself from the cave's roof fell upon him.

Half as large as his body the slime engulfed Kyle's upper body along with Lilior and the Snow Blur, Kyle shut his mouth closed as he let go of the hare and began to thrash his arms all over. He tripped and fell back into the ground, the slime moved to engulf his whole body as a burst of light from his left caught Kyle's attention. The slimed hadn't fully engulfed Lilior as it pressed against her body while slowly eating away at her clothes, her wings shone brightly as the slime kept it's distance from them leaving a small bubble of air for Lilior's head and wings.

Kyle blinked and refocused to look away from the more than distracting graphic, he was on the same boat as her right now. Kyle thrashed his arms at the slime as it drowned him in it's inner liquids, the outside too thick and hard for his claws to pull apart. He glanced at his health ("23!") Lilior's healing effect was only enough to slow the damage over time of the slime's acid, Kyle continued to panic as he pushed at the ground with his legs only to enter deeper into the slime.

He blinked multiple times to get the slime out of his eyes as he looked around the blurred cave ("Something…anything…someone…not like this!") he thought in frustration as he searched around, a glint of reflected light shone in the corner of his vision. Kyle momentarily froze before continuing to look around in apparent panic, this time with a goal ("The core!"). He looked around as weariness began to take over from the loss of air, the thrashing Lilior and Snow Blur the only things he could see within the thick blue liquid. Another glint of light shone as he saw it floating in front of him, exactly the same colour as the slime the blue circular crystal drifted slowly as some light reflected from it.

No larger than his thumb the crystal floated behind the Snow Blur as it thrashed, Kyle activated Rage without the chant and focused on the crystal as he timed it ("One chance") he thought as he suddenly spent his last bit of stamina to activate Surge. His body rushed forward taking the slime up into the air with it as it continued to stick to his body, solid tentacles keeping the Snow blur and Lilior apart from him but within the same blob. Kyle reached forward and pushed away the Snow Blur, he reached further as he barely touched the small core. His eyes began to close as a sigh exited his parted lips giving way for the slime, right before his eyes closed Kyle watched as the core bounced off the blob's edge and drifted towards the still thrashing Snow Blur.

 ("Ugh!") Kyle's eyes flew open from the pain as he hit the ground along with the slime, he swallowed from the impact and felt something solid go down his throat. He almost lost consciousness to lack of air as he watched the slime around his body flowing downwards, unsticking from him completely as if turning into water. He choked and coughed as he hurriedly took in air while holding onto his throat, he turned over to face the ground as he felt his stomach churning to push something out but he held it in.

After staring down at the ground for a couple moments he then glanced around, the Snow Blur lay motionless on the ground by him. He stared at it in disbelief before Lilior fluttered over to his face "Master! You did it!" she screamed with happiness.

"Huh?" Kyle continued to stare at her in disbelief as notifications filled his vision

Kyle read through the notifications in disbelief "Wha…" he remained on the ground staring and speechless.

"Master?..." Lilior stared down at him with worry. She glanced around the cave and suddenly fluttered forward to his face "Master snap out of it!" Lilior shouted as she gripped onto his face and slapped his cheek.

"Woaah!" Kyle jumped at her sudden action and quickly got up as he stared at her too close half naked body, "Shit" he cursed as he slipped over the blue slime and fell back with a loud splat.

Lilior had let go of his face and was hovering above him, "Master! The slimes!" she shouted again while glancing around the cave in panic.

Kyle's eyes went wide as he snapped out of his daze and confusion. He grimaced as he saw the blue blobs of smaller slimes oozing towards him, he got up and carefully grabbed the Snow blur ("Please be alive") he thought as he turned and rushed to the wall. He looked up at the exit longingly ("How do I…") he glanced at his resource bars ("5 health , 17 stamina and 8 mana…all regenerating slowly") he grimaced at the height he needed to leap ("Even if I infuse mana into Surge I can only use it twice…I don't have a choice…") he thought.

He glanced back at the blue slimes as they slowly moved towards him, he then looked back up at the exit, he glimpsed at Sly's and Nakano's icons off to the left of his vision ("Thirty meters away…") when he focused on them the distance in meters was shown above each icon. Hope flared inside him as he thought of the chat system, he thought it open and furiously typed away
