Chapter 348 The Heavenly Demon's Stand!
Having his reflection as an enemy wasn't a particularly pleasing experience, but the Heavenly Demon knew that he couldn't lose the attention of the Demon Lord. otherwise, the army that was barely holding back would crumble under his interference.
The five-headed dragon that they had taken care of just now was but one of the many forms that the Demon Lord could use, his destructive potential was simply too high!
"Well said, those who stand in the face of everyone's happiness should be the first to get a taste for themselves!"
The Demon Lord's heart was enraged about the suffering generated by the delay, but his enlightened mind kept itself together. The Guardian was just another victim himself, he only had to quickly send him on his way!
A pair of dark feathery wings grew up on his back as feathers ate up the rest of his body, in a few seconds an enormous eagle-like creature soared in the air following up the Heavenly Demon's ascent!
'This is doable.'
The creature's size and his sharp talons made him look intimidating, but Cheon Ma gauged his ability to be at the same level as the red dragon. It was unknown when the battle would end, but he was confident in taking him down one more time!

The transformed Demon Lord screamed, bringing rise to a raging tide of winds. However, just like he did before, the Heavenly Demon easily dispersed the special ability of wind manipulation using his Scarlet Sky Internal Energy.
Yet, that was exactly what the Demon Lord was waiting for. This was the first time he met a Guardian that could completely negate his abilities, but the bodies of the fearsome creatures that he devoured were threatening enough on their own!
Swish!
As quick as Cheon Ma was, he was still scratched by the talon that rivaled him in speed. Unfortunately for the Demon Lord, the armor took the full brunt of the attack, allowing the Heavenly Demon to directly pay it back.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The twin greatswords made of energy were both heavy and weightless at the same time. To begin with, the concept of weight was illusory for a Martial Artist at the Profound Stage. As someone who broke the limits of martial arts, every move of his was close to a strike from the world's laws!
However, the same could be said about the apex monster that the Demon Lord devoured. Such mountain-splitting strikes only left a few normal sword wounds on its body. Both sides were a worthy match.
Just as the monsters and Martial Artists threw their lives away to push the other side back, the Heavenly Demon and the Demon Lord exchanged wounds. Still, both sides weren't truly balanced due to the ability seal that the Demon Lord suffered from.
Thud!
Before long, the giant bird shot down after losing both wings, its head, as well as its heart! Cheon Ma sped down to finish it up, but…
"I have to admit that you are special, but you still can't stop me."
The Demon Lord rose from his dead body in human form once more. If he really could die just like that, he might have already killed himself when he was contemplating that thought.
"No body can stop me. My fate as a tool for destruction is sealed, so don't delay it any further!"
Devourers were already scary, but after consuming an actual shapeshifter, the Demon Lord's ability to change into what he devoured took one step forward. He was capable of achieving complete regeneration once he switched bodies, irrelevant of how close to death he was!
"Can't you see it? You are only creating more suffering by holding me back. You can't hold me back forever, so just accept it!"

Having received the same result once more, the Heavenly Demon remained unaffected by the Demon Lord's words. Just as the records said, no Demon Lord could be a normal opponent.
If this was actually a special ability, then he could have sealed it as he had done so far, but the Devourer's natural shapeshifting regeneration was an inherent physical function. Just like he couldn't seal away the fire breath from before, he couldn't stop the Demon Lord from being born over and over.
'He has to have some limitations.'
Just once or twice wasn't enough for him to give up. At the very least, he had to try it for tens of times, if not until he ran out of Internal Energy!
Unlike the Demon Lord in front of him who only desired destruction for strange reasons, he had a world to protect. If he just took the enemy's words as truth, then why did he bother accepting the position of a Guardian?

Transforming into a Sword Dominator, the Demon Lord summoned metal from under the ground to construct a sword to fly on, but he was surprised to find the sword unmoving. This Guardian could even seal the ability of a demon like this?

Having thrown out his ear to hear the conversation while focusing on what was in front of him, Leo found it strange to have met this problematic Demon Lord in person.
Even after so many changes to the story, the former human still spouted the same bullshit he spouted before. From the looks of it, the backstory mentioned in the novel hadn't been touched by his butterfly effect.
Regardless, that didn't change the fact that a Devourer was a very tough opponent. If the Heavenly Lord was any weaker, they might have been done for, but even now…

Stopping himself before he started to sound like the crazy Demon Lord, Leo threw himself back into the battle he was in. The battle in the sky was definitely not his field.
