No Matter How Long Time Passes, I Still Love You Chapter 73: Comparing Status?

Soon after Chen Mu's proper introduction of Susu, everyone found their seats and settled down as the host began his opening speech. In short, the host had recently opened up a new restaurant and catered tonight's event to promote the main courses, desserts, and drinks. He made sure to keep it straightforward and avoided wordy business with the guests. When he finished giving the speech, everyone gathered around the food servers and eagerly waited for their turn to try out different dishes.

Chen Mu was sucked into more business conversations, so Susu excused herself with Lily to get food for both of them. She was understanding and very welcoming when meeting his business partners and friends. This made many men feel envy towards Chen Mu for finding someone so special and unique.

When Lily and Susu were in line for food, others started conversations with them and they quickly became friends. Meanwhile, Karen was biting her chapped lips and devouring the peeling dead skin with lipstick tint on it because nobody voluntarily spoke to her. Nobody pitied her for getting dragged into the previous conversation. Nobody praised her beauty and all her efforts that she had spent on dressing up. She wasn't able to pass out a single business card tonight because her spotlight was taken by Lily and Susu.

Seeing Lily and Susu's smiling faces made her even more furious as she thought of herself as the joke of the event. To her, the outfit that she chose tonight was better than everyone else, yet everyone decided to ignore her because they wanted to kiss up to Chen Mu. She thought that the only reason why she didn't receive any mentions was due to the fact that she was Tian Yuo's girlfriend.

The earlier conversation amongst the crowd already made him come off as a jerk. Therefore, in her mind, it made sense for people to avoid talking to her. At the same time, Tian Yuo was too engaged in talking to his other friends that he neglected her. She was alone and had chugged down the second glass of Hennessy.

When she saw how happy Lily and Susu looked from a distance, her fingers clenched on the glass tightly. How could she end up this miserable while they took all the fun from her? 'No! I will ruin their day like they had ruined mine. The only thing is that Chen Mu is more powerful than Tian Yuo, so I can't publicly go against Susu. On the other hand, that feisty woman, Lily, is only the daughter of another prestigious family.'

She smirked and took a glass of red wine from the table, 'I'll return the embarrassment thousands of folds this time... Pretty red dress, but let's see how pretty it will look after this.." The moment Karen started walking towards them, Susu already caught the evil grin on her face. She whispered to Lily, "Watch out."

Karen seemed to have noticed that she had been found out. Therefore, she quickened her pace and even tripped over her own foot while fast walking towards them. Though she was half tripping, a wide smile appeared on her face as the red wine from the glass messily escaped from the glass.

When she fell, she thought that she could pull Lily down with her. Once again, she had miscalculated. Susu would never allow anyone to hurt or embarrass her precious friend. As soon as she saw what was coming, she warned Lily and moved her out of the way to avoid the spill.

"Ahhhh!" Karen shrieked when she fell, scraped her limbs against the rough carpet and missed her target by a few inches. Her dress was barely long enough to cover her knees. When her body fell, the bottom half of her dress flipped upwards and was rolled up even further when her limbs scraped on the carpet; revealing her granny underpants.

Normally, she wore sexy lingerie underneath, but her period came and she didn't want to risk dirtying her good quality pairs. Now, she really regretted her decision as she felt the cold air reach her inner thighs and heard murmurs about her tasteless panties. She quickly adjusted her dress as she stood up and hoped that none of it was caught on anyone's camera.

She gritted her teeth and tried pushing the blame on Susu for moving Lily away. "How could you move away when you saw someone falling? The decent thing to do is reach out and help them before they fall! Hah and Chen Mu actually complimented you in front of everyone. I don't see how well you were brought up for having such ill manners!"

Lily was already angered by the earlier conversation, but now, the volcanoes erupted inside of her. Lava was bursting like explosive fireworks in her brain as flames were shooting everywhere. Susu scoffed, "Excuse yourself, but we were raised by the same parents. Demeaning me would be stepping on yourself. Also, when I see my friend in danger, of course, I would move her out of the way. Why would I let her be in your way when you deliberately fell on your own?"

In addition to Susu's words, Lily added, "Also, the way you fell looked very abnormal to how a regular person would have fallen. Under such circumstances, it was quite obvious that you wanted to spill that glass of red wine onto my dress. What? Jealous that we look way better than your ragged fashion sense? Hah, and here I was wondering how low you would scoop to gain attention."

Ever since Karen's fall, everyone had focused their attention on them, so she wanted to get out of there as soon as she could. Since she could no longer find greater words to fight them, she could only excuse herself, "It must have been a misunderstanding then. You see, I lost my balance earlier. Besides, your dresses are alright now. I think my boyfriend is calling for me. Nice talking to you two."

"Not so fast." Lily stopped her and grabbed two glasses of wine from the table.

Karen gulped at the sight of the drinks in her hands, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Returning the favor. Why? Only you could do such despicable things and I can't do it? You've underestimated your opponent once again." Lily swirled the drink in her hands and tilted the glass towards Karen's direction.

"You can't lay a strand of my hair because Tian Yuo is still a powerful man in business. As his girlfriend, people need to give him some face! You're only the daughter from the Jiang family. Could you compare to the Tian family? His status and power are higher than yours." Karen threw differences between their power and purposely said it loud for everyone to hear her words.

After a few seconds of silence, Lily laughed heartily, "You see, it's been a while since I've exercised. Haha, did you mention Tian Yuo having more power than me and that you're his girlfriend so I can't lay a finger on you? Well, goose, do some homework before making enemies with the wrong people. If you're telling me that your boyfriend is powerful, so that I can't make a move on you, then clearly, you don't know who my fiance is."

Karen's arrogant expression froze after hearing her words.

"Oh, and your words already meant that as long as the person holds more power, they can do whatever to those who are of lower status. Compared to your family, mine is wealthier and quite far from bankruptcy. As for your boyfriend, my man is comparable to the Chen family. Your boy is inferior. Ever heard of the Lin family? Ya, the only child of Lin family is my darling sugar bun. Tian Yuo is nothing compared to my fiance and Chen Mu. Any last words?"

"W..What?" Karen stepped back slowly, trying to avoid the red wine in Lily's hands. Suddenly, a male voice took everyone's attention away from them, "Hold on."
