Chapter 739: Chapter 262: The Disparities of Love_2
Under the blurry silhouette under the Divine Light gradually became clear, he seemed to see the arrogant and disdainful eyes of the Heavenly Empress. Deities had always been so arrogant, yet Theseus had already prepared himself for a hard blow, ready to break free from the encirclement.
Nothing mattered today, as long as he could leave, he would already have won.
All subsequent events could be calculated later…
Hiss–
The sky instantly quieted down, as the sound of a sharp weapon piercing flesh rang out, followed closely by the sound of something slicing through the air.
The fallen and corrupt power spread, yet it was confined to a small portion of the sky.
If one were to look up from within the city, mortals could see the originally flickering stream of light suddenly stop in place.
In the next moment, beams of light descended from the sky, bringing the descent of one deity after another.
The War God Ares.
The Goddess of Beauty Aphrodite.
The Sea God Poseidon.

The Rainbow Goddess Iris.
The Goddess of Harmony Harmonia.
The Divine Light continued to fall, followed by the dispersal of the aura of Divine Power.
They should have spread, but were blocked by the shadows in the sky.
Of course, Theseus knew that even without the shadow, there would be no rescue for him.
Just as Demeter's true form rarely stayed in Eryxis, Zeus also did not frequently go to Olympia, and Athena similarly rarely stayed in Athens.
In any case, today's Mortal Realm was a limitation for All Gods. They could endure this “narrowness” temporarily, but they would not enjoy staying here for long.
“What a grand show, ha, Hera, should I feel honored?”
Taking a deep breath, Theseus's expression held a hint of sarcasm, yet his complexion visibly paled.
Behind him, a short dagger had been stabbed into his chest, with wisps of dark red mist swirling around it, hindering his blood flow.
Just moments ago, the heir he had been protecting behind him, the Prince of Athens Demophon, had personally plunged this dagger into his body. Now, the latter stood beside the Heavenly Empress.
After the initial rage, the King now started to recall the differences along the way.
His son, who seldom voiced opinions, mentioned the dissatisfaction of the nobles in their country.
Asked if he came to Eryxis for “negotiation.”
The conversations at the banquet were awkward and hesitant, yet it was uncharacteristically easy to see the thoughts of those nobles.
And the only point where he needed his own reminder–Divine Descending of All Gods.
Well…perhaps that ritual had also played a part. He asked himself whether the Mysteries of Eryxis were real or fake, and he told him they were theoretically feasible.
He feared Deities, yet craved Strength; making such a choice seemed not too strange.
But reflecting on the past…looking at Demophon's eyes that did not dare meet his, Theseus felt a little like laughing.
Did you really think you could get what you wanted? The curse of God against man had never been about “today.”
“Surrender, mortal, you cannot escape.”
“Perhaps you still intend to resist? After all, even now, you dare to call me by my name.”
With a hint of pleasure in her voice, Hera cared not for the love-hate drama between this father and son.
She only knew that Athens would finally be uprooted by her, and without shedding any blood. Moreover, the “thing” she had prepared turned out to be so useful, easily resolving this hard to deal with enemy.
“Now, you should call me Her Majesty the Heavenly Empress.”
Swoosh–
Invisible power expanded, instantly enveloping this part of the sky. None of the other Gods chose this moment to disregard Hera's face; they all tacitly approved of her actions.
The atmosphere of one Deity after another stacked together, as heavy as mountains.
The majesty of the Gods pressed on the strongest of humans, seemingly proving that throughout the millennia, Deities were never a force against which humans could contend.
Standing at the center of the encirclement of All Gods, feeling this pressure, usually ignorable, yet now vast and deep, Theseus merely smiled.
Not at the Gods, for they were predictably so; he was only laughing at Demophon's naivete.
“This is my oversight; yet, child, it seems you've forgotten the stories I've told you.”
“The Typhon's chaos, Grand Hero Cadmus saved the King of the Gods, yet the King married off the Goddess of Harmony to him.”
“Heh heh, what a ridiculous marriage; she's even here now…she did not want to marry a mortal, nor did her mother, Aphrodite, want it either, but Zeus, knowing their reluctance, still did it, and thus disaster ensued.”
Theseus did not continue the story, for everyone knew it well.
The Goddess of Beauty gave her daughter in marriage, providing a necklace and veil, from then on, Cadmus's descendants would know no peace.
His daughter was noticed by Zeus, and upon seeing his true form, died. His grandson Labdacus had a short life, and his great-grandson Laius lost his father in childhood.
Subsequently, Laius's guardian was killed by political enemies, and Thebes's power changed hands.
Laius had to seek refuge with Pelops–the son of Tantalus, who was slain in the tale of the feast of the God's sons, the grandson of Zeus.
Laius became the tutor of Pelops's son, Chrysippus, but Laius fell in love with the handsome Chrysippus, abducting and causing his death.
Thus, Laius betrayed his benefactor, so Pelops, who had lost his son, cursed Laius, “That you will be killed by your own son.”
Laius's son, was the renowned Oedipus.
