Rahul and Gouthami were on bad terms regarding this issue as if they are crossing swords at each other with their eyes.

Rahul was furious and he said in a firm tone "You can do anything you want. But you can't say anything to Shriya. Though you are elder to her in age, it's the other way around in relationship. Never forget that she is the eldest daughter-in-law of Malhotras' while you are the youngest."

"Respect her for that. Moreover she deserves all the respect, she has gone through so much at such a young age and yet she stayed confident and never lowered her values even in tough situations. It's okay if you don't like her and don't want to be friendly with her, but never say something that hurts her."

Gouthami was so furious because of his attitude but she was fine as long as he don't compel her to talk to that Gouthami.

Rahul remembered something and said in a even more firmer tone "One more thing. It's about Preeti. You can't say anything stupid to that little girl. She lost her parents while she was only five and later five years she has to stay in an hostel alone like an orphan. "

"She is one sensible kid and only now she is having a happy and a good life. Bhai treats her like her one daughter and we all care for her. You better be careful and don't overstep your boundaries. You know about bhai and his temper. I am worried about you and we can't afford his anger".

"Afterall how kind and pure she is by heart, you have seen it by yourself earlier. I hope you keep this in mind. She treats you just like her sister and I hope you will be a bit warm hearted to her. Moreover you are going to be a mother soon and you have to know the sensibility."

Gouthami was a bit shocked hearing his firm tone. It was the first time that she has seen this side of him. He was always a caring and a gentleman atleast infront of her. He may be lazy sometimes but never yelled at her nor spoke in such a firm tone before.

She realised that he really respects Shriya and that little girl has a special place in his heart. She tried to understand him and said helplessly "Okay fine".

Rahul was a bit relieved seeing her comprise. It's very rare for her to compromise on things. He said patting her head gently "Now comes the important thing which I wanted to talk to you about".

Gouthami looked at her man and he said "If you are okay, I want to say something to you"

She looked at him curiously and said "I love you" and she laughed hearing his words. She knew he loves her and it was already obvious. So she replied with a smile "I know".

He said with a sigh "Idiot, I am saying that I want to marry you" and she looked at him with surprise "We should get married. I don't want my baby to come into this world without a proper name and legitimacy. I will give her her right and proper status."

She looked at him and she didnot knew what to say. He said in a firm and determined tone "If you love me and want tobe my wife, we will get married. We will inform our parents and if they want to attend, they will attend, if not it'somay. We will wait for their blessings".

Seeing her looking at him with confusion and sadness, he smiled assuring "My dad and grandpa are with us in this. Bhai spoke with them aleady and everything is ready. If you say yes we will get married next month."

Gouthami was still in a trance because she never thought that Rahul will go against his mom's decision. He was always a mom's boy back then and he practically lived his entire life in Abhi's shadow. She didn't knew that he became mature enough to take responsibility for his actions.

She felt so happy and she was proud of her man. She always liked his nativity and pure heart and his loyalty to his brother. Now she is even more happy. He could sense her feelings and said with a smile "Even men can take decisions sometimes".

But she faked anger and asked "Are you proposing me just like that without any ring. What a waste ?".

He smiled and took out a ring from his pocket and placed it directly on her finger without asking her for her opinion.

She looked at the ring and he said "This is the ring that grandpa gave to me when I first told him about you. He also gave one to bhai".

"We will not hold any engagement party, we will directly go to the marriage."

She nodded happily and said "Will everything be done in such a short time ?"

Rahul said "Everything is done already. Bhai wants to get engaged with Shriya and is holding an engagement party next month in Martias. The next day after their engagement will be our marriage".

Suddenly Gouthami became furious and she looked at him with disdain.
