Chapter 169 Oasis In The Fiery Southern Desert

As the magenthaired beauty went closer to the spring water to quench her thirst, a voice resounded behind her which made her stop in her track, "Wait."

Nyla turned to look at Rio in bewilderment and didn't understand why he would stop her. Her curious eyes were asking the boy 'why?'

"We can't be sure if the water here is safe to drink. Let me check it first." He responded in a relaxed voice.

"Ahh..." Nyla realized her mistake as she took a few steps back from the pool.

Seeing they had come to a place where they would be resting Helia thought it was better to climb down from this comfy ride and release him from her stinking body.

"Can you put me down now?" The lioness asked, her voice had a hint of shyness. She didn't retaliate like the last time.

"Okay." He bent his knees and carefully helped her to the ground as she sat in the shade of the palm trees.

Rio moved closer to the spring water as he used his [Heaven's Eyes] on it.

[Name: Refreshing Spring Water ]

[Type: Consumable]

~ This clear, sparkling water was discovered deep in the Fiery Southern Desert and is a lifesaver for travelers on long journeys. Its cool, crisp taste will quench your thirst and revitalize your body.

Highly sought after by adventurers in the Fiery Southern Desert, a bottle of this rare spring water is a treasure to be treasured in the scorching climate.

The boy knew his innate skill would be working on most of the things but he rarely used them on normal items but today he really required to use it on the spring water and wanted to know if it was drinkable and not poisonous or cursed.

"It's safe." Rio was relieved to find the positive result as he said to the magenthaired beauty who was waiting to consume the spring water.

He went towards Helia who was gazing at the water with greedy eyes as she also was thirsty and wanted to jump in if others were not present there.

"Come, I will help you." He said, wrapping his hands around her back and crook of her knees to lift her up in a bridal carry.

The lioness didn't resist as she looked at his dry face that was more exhausted than hers but still came to help her to bring to the spring water and didn't go to drink it himself.

When someone disliked a person they would only see their bad sides and negative points but since Helia promised herself to not dislike him anymore, she started seeing his good aspects that made her realize how wrong she was to hate him from the first day.

The boy attentively carried her like a princess and brought her near the edge of the pool as he helped her sit on the ground.

As her buttock touched the sand, which wasn't hot like before but cool, The girl relaxed as she was finally out of his strong manly grasp which was making her nervous.

She spread her knees to the side and declined her head lower to drink the water from the pool using her left hand.

Unlike the girls, Rio collapsed onto the ground without caring about anything, as he was too exhausted to move and finally got to relax.

With a shaking hand, he dipped it into the cool water, bringing its content to his cracked lips.

As soon as the cold liquid touched his tongue and he drank deeply, the feeling of the coolness quenching his thirst and revitalizing his body drowned his senses. The water was like heaven to his body as it helped soothe the parched throat.

Helia's eyes were secretly observing him as she could see how tired he was and even saw his shaking hand that was just putting a strong front when he carried her. Her heart felt ticklish emotions but she was too embarrassed to thank him to help her before and express her gratitude.

Rio lay down at the edge of the pool without any second thought. Seeing him lie down, Nyla also placed her head near his as they both relaxed. The lioness followed in and slept beside him as she was also tired.

They were all side by side and Rio was in the middle, their hands were sunk inside the spring as water continuously spread the coolness.

The three of them were resting in laying posture at the edge of the pool, as they finally get to relax.

The trio forgot they had to search the exalted clover ring as they were all drowned in the comfort of the oasis and the shade of trees after going through the hellish journey in the blistering Fiery Southern Desert.

After 30 minutes, the boy finally got up from his seat and stared at Helia.

She saw he was gazing at her and waited for him to speak.

"We need to wash your wound so it can recover faster." He said, pointing to the gash on her lower leg.

Hearing his words, Nyla also got up and came closer to sit with them.

She said, "Yeah, we need to clean the wound since we have a water source so it could heal sooner."

Helia didn't say anything as she gave a silent agreement by getting up from her sleeping posture and sitting to move her injured leg towards them.

Nyla undid the bandage done by Rio's sleeve and a fresh wound welcomed the trio's vision which was bloody flesh covered in some dirt and sand.

The lioness realized the makeshift bandage was made from his shirt as he tore his cloth to give her temporary first aid. This only boosted Rio's place in her complicated maiden's heart.

The boy connected both his palm to bring water into the crook to deliver it to Helia's wound as Nyla cleaned it tenderly.

"Mmm," The blonde-haired beauty moaned in pain as she was feeling the burning on her injured flesh.

As the duo was done cleaning her wound they needed to cover it but there was nothing they could use. Applying dirty cloth would be not good so Rio looked around him, searching for a solution.

The boy got up and went to inspect the plants scattered in the oasis's perimeter one by one as he checked their information using [Heaven's Eyes].

[Name: Barren dark Flower]

[Type: Flora]

~ A beautiful flower that blooms only at night, giving off a mysterious glow. Provides increased resistance to heat and sandstorms.

[Name: Desert Aloe Vera]

[Type: Flora]

~ A succulent plant with juicy leaves, known for its soothing properties and ability to heal wounds.

>>>>

His eyes shone, finding an aloe-verlike plant in the Fiery Southern Desert as he moved to pluck them. The texture of this plant was more similar to a wild cactus without the sharp thorns on its surface.

He also gathered other plants' leaves and went towards the girls who were gazing at him.

The boy sat beside them as he began to carefully tear open the succulent leaves of the Desert Aloe Vera plant.

He used his finger to take the cool, juicy gel and generously applied it to Helia's flesh.

"Whoaa... It's like aloe vera" Nyla exclaimed in surprise as the inside of this leaf looked similar.

The lioness could feel his delicate touch on her skin as she winced at the sensation.

But soon she relaxed and felt the soothing properties of the Desert Aloe Vera gradually taking effect.

He placed another plant's leaf over it to cover and tore the sleeve of his other hand before washing it in the spring water as he wrapped the cloth like a makeshift bandage around her lower leg, securing the desert Aloe Vera gel in place near her wound.

After he was done he said, "You don't have your powerful strength of Red stage that would help you here so Don't be stubborn to walk again. You need to give proper rest to your wound so it can heal and don't open up again.

Helia nodded as she stayed silent the whole time and didn't know how to respond to the boy with who she always searched reason to bicker.

"How long are we going to rest here?" Nyla asked, her voice gentle but deep down she was praying he wouldn't say to leave any time soon.

"At least tonight," The boy said, he was feeling much better than before and knew if he wanted to bring them all along he would have to wait and rest for the night.

"I wish to dive in to take a bath but I don't want to spoil our only source of water." The lively girl said as the pool of water was enticing to soak her body in.

"We will find a solution later to fulfill your wish," Rio responded with a faint smile, ruffling her magenta hair.

The sun was setting over the desert on the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the oasis.

Girls were sitting on the edge of the tranquil pool, using their hands to fill up the crooks of their palms with small amounts of water to wash their skin.

A few meters away, Rio was thinking to make their bedding as comfortable as possible as he gazed at the verdant floras around the water spring.
