The car stopped right in front of the villa as they arrived at Nyla's house.
The girl practically jumped out of the car in her excitement as she went to open the door for Rio and held his hand to guide him out of the car.
Rio had a feeble smile on his face as he saw how eager she was.
Nyla said with a smile, "Don't be nervous, Granny is going to love you."
'I'm not nervous but never mind.'
Rio nodded as he didn't interrupt her.
They went towards the orange-wooden gate and the girl rang the doorbell as she waited anxiously for someone to open it.
A girl in her mid-twenties opened the door, she was wearing the maid outfit as she bowed down and said politely, "Welcome back, young miss..."
Nyla nodded as She led Rio into the grand entryway of the villa, her hand tightly gripping his as she brought him inside. The high ceilings and white marble floors were the first things he saw.
As they walked through the living room, Rio mumbled, "It's decorated so elegantly..."
The furniture was all antique and looked like it belonged in a museum. The paintings on the walls were all original and looked like they were worth a fortune.
They took the grand staircase that led to the upper floor of the house.
With a lively smile, the magenthaired beauty pulled him toward their destination.
Nyla stood in front of the first room on the second floor and put her hands on her chest to take a deep breath as she prepared herself to ask for permission.
"Hey, Granny...Can we come in?" She asked for permission as she was bringing Rio so didn't want to invade her privacy because he was a stranger to her grandma.
"Ah...child...why are you asking for permission...just come in..." A gentle voice sounded from inside.
Nyla's face brightened hearing her Grandma as she entered the room, holding Rio's hand.
The boy saw an old lady standing up from her chair as she walked towards them.
The lady was an elderly woman with a kind face in her sixties but she looked energetic like her granddaughter.
The granny took Nyla in a warm hug and then turned her attention to Rio.
She looked him up and down with an observing gaze in her eye before asking, "Why were you holding my child's hand?"
The sudden question took Rio off-guard as it wasn't him who held her hand but other way around.
'Are the whole family crazy? She even took her side when it was she who held my hand.'
The boy kept his calm but he could see Nyla trembling behind her as she was controlling her laughter.
"Because I have decided to hold her hand for the life. I have come to ask you for permission." Rio gave her a smooth response which wasn't even expected by Nyla.
The old lady's face flashed with a joyous smile upon hearing his answer. She said, "I like your choice, little Nyla...He is a good man."
The magenthaired beauty hugged her granny from behind and beamed in joy, saying "Thank you, granny..."
"I didn't expect Rio havenglow to be able to steal my little angel's heart..." She said with a delighted tone.
"How do you know I'm Rio havenglow?" The boy frowned upon hearing her statement...
"You will understand if you go into her room." The old lady spoke with a mysterious smile.
Rio gave Nyla a puzzled look as he wanted to know what else she had done.
"Come inside, you kids. we don't have to finish all our talk here.." She welcomed him inside to sit on the couch.
The room was dimly lit, but he could see the light of the chandelier and the gleam of the hardwood floors. The room had a fireplace and a big window, which let the natural light in, and it was decorated with beautiful paintings and vases.
As the couple sat on the same couch, Nyla couldn't help but smile as she finally had done what she was waiting for.
"Tell me what happened and how you were able to conquer him." She asked as if she was aware of their past.
"So one and half months ago I found out Rio is at the yellow tower of the outcast shelter so I decided to move into purple tower since he would be arriving there...." She started telling from the beginning.
Rio thought, "At that time I was still taking down yellow shelters at the border of shamor empire...Good that we are married now, otherwise I don't know what crazy things she would've planned to come after me"
"Our team encountered a lord beast as I got injured fighting it and my AI watch got broken into pieces. Sophia and Lucas got fatally wounded in the fight and got teleported out by AI watch. I lost consciousness and when I opened my eyes I saw I was in the hot spring cave with Rio.
He told me how he escaped the lord beast taking me in his embrace and realized that he loves me when he saw me almost dying." Nyla finished her explanation as she told her grandma a story with a half-truth.
Her grandmother listened with a happy smile on her face, clearly delighted to see her granddaughter so happy.
"Thank you Rio...for saving my child" the old lady's eyes' moved to the crimson-haired boy as she expressed her gratitude.
"You don't have to thank him granny... now I'm all his so he has to take care of me. Am I right sweetie?" Nyla was very comfortable around her granny and was still playful without being nervous. This showed their close bonding and how the old lady doted on her granddaughter.
Rio just nodded in affirmation as she wasn't wrong with the statement.
