Nyla was joyous as she saw him worry about her. She could feel his forehead on her as the Magenthaired beauty was ready to leave this world with a happy heart.
Rio felt hopeless and broken as if his heart was stabbed with a sharp dagger.
Just when The crimson-haired boy thought he wouldn't able to save the girl in his embrace, a concerning voice sounded in his mind.
"Rio??? Is everything fine?" Lia questioned him in his thought via telepathy.
She asked as Rio hadn't sent any messages and talk to her for several hours. Lia was getting worried for him so she decided to ask since it wasn't like him to not talk to her for an extended period of time.
"Nyla is dying... She took the lethal attack that was meant for me." Rio said in a sorrowful voice and cried to her via telepathy.
Her mind processed the thought at a fast pace as Lia responded in a hurried tone, "Ah...I won't ask you details but take her in the embrace and use [Astral Recall] immediately."
Rio's eyes fluttered open and didn't question her as a flame of hope flickered in his heart, casting the [Astral Recall] instantly.
A white light enveloped their body as Nyla and Rio vanished from the dense forest, leaving behind a deadly silence along with corpses that were scattered on the ground.
Rio appeared in Lia's bedroom on the couch as always but with beauty in his embrace. They were both covered in a Magenthaired girl's blood.
As soon as the boy arrived, Lia spoke in a hurried tone, "Place her on our bed, quickly."
Rio nodded as he proceeded to carry her to the king-sized bed.
Nyla stared at the white-haired beauty in a daze with heavy eyes as she was mesmerized by her fairy-like beauty and surprised by suddenly appearing in an extravagant room.
She was placed on a bed that nobody in the world would have the chance to even touch.
Her blood stained the bedsheets but Lia didn't care about it as for her the life of the person was more important, who saved her husband's life.
Nyla's eyes were observing her surroundings as her breathing was getting slower.
Lia went beside her and took out a golden glowing orb of berry size from her Spatial beast soul before placing it in her mouth.
Nyla's face gazed at her in astonishment and didn't resist consuming the healing medicine as she knew the unknown white-haired beauty was trying to save her.
Cold energy rushed into her body and golden patches started spreading on her skin that went near her wounds to cover them, soothing her torment and stopping her bleeding.
As the pain reduced in Nyla's body, she felt comfortable but chilly and drowned in a sleepiness state.
After a few minutes...Rushed footsteps sounded as Lioness and an old lady entered their bedroom.
She had gray long hair and looked in her sixties. When she stood near Helia her head was coming to Lioness's jaws. Her face had a calmness and her eyes were filled with great wisdom.
The old lady gave an inspecting gaze to Rio before going towards Nyla who was laying on the empress' bed.
She didn't ask any questions and used a healing spell on Nyla's body.
Numerous glittering leaves appeared in the room, brightening up the surroundings as they swirled around the sleeping beauty's body.
Her wound started closing that were blocked by golden patches and the healing could be noticed by the naked eye.
The penetrated hole in the belly also started recovering, as the old lady moved her right hand to take out the dagger with gentle care.
She gradually removed the orange dagger and the wounds healed instantly, not giving chance for any extra bleeding.
The orange dagger crumbled into pieces, leaving Nyla's body as there was no source of mana for it to be alive.
Rio's face had a look of amazement and he asked in a concerned tone, "Would she be fine?"
"Are you questioning my ability?" The old lady rebuked him before saying again, "Moreover you also need treatment. Come here lad, lay down on the bed."
"Nah I'm okay..." The boy shook his hands in refusal.
"Rio..." Lia indicated him to follow her suggestion as her heart ached to see him injured but she had to take care of the person who was on verge of death first.
The boy listened to her and went to lie down beside Nyla, gazing at her sleeping face that was finally free of pain. She looked as if sleeping peacefully and enjoying a happy dream.
The old lady hovered her hand and cast the same healing spell. The gleaming green leaves swirled around his body, tickling his skin as if pecking a cold kiss on them, healing his wounds at a fast pace.
Rio's mind also relaxed and he felt he was slowly drowning in wonderland but he controlled his urge of sleeping.
The gray-haired old lady turned towards Lia and said with a polite tone, "After she wakes up, make sure to feed her well and let her rest properly."
"Thank you Grandma Eira" Lia bowed her head to express gratitude.
Rio felt surprised that even the future empress was bowing her head to this gray-haired old lady.
Grandma Eira nodded and turned around to walk out of the empress villa as Helia accompanied her to the exit door.
After the old lady left, Lia took water in the glass from the pot that was kept on the table and sat beside Rio.
He wanted to get up for the water but Lia supported his head with her hand and helped him to drink it.
After placing the glass back on the table, Lia turned to the crimson-haired boy.
She wanted to know what exactly happened that put him in such danger that Nyla had to sacrifice herself to save him.
