"Pick your judges . They can be you're customers, friends or family, I don't care . I just don't want you saying that I picked people who are partial to me . " Ariana said as she held her head high . "That sounds acceptable to me but the ones I have in mind won't be able to come at this second . Can we have start the competition in an 90 minutes? It will give everyone time to get down here . " Virginia said as she started to curl one of her loose curls around her fat, index finger .
"I think that's a fantastic idea . Why not also send some people out to advertise this little competition . We can set the tables outside for judging and roll out some portable oven and fridge so we can cook out in the open . Then no one can say that anyone cheated . " Ariana said as she locked gazes with Virginia . "Why not? Money will not be on object in this little challenge . " Virginia said as she leaned back into her chair . "Ladies! Start moving everything outside . Everyone else, spread the word, in 90 minutes a competition will be held between Nuance Cafe and the Sugar Apple Cafe . " Virginia yelled with excitement .
Soon everyone rushed out to start spreading the news . A chunk of road was blocked off to act as the stage . The girls from the Nuance Cafe brought out magical kitchens and full stocked fridges for each person to use, along with tools . Ariana grabbed an apron and tied up her hair in to a bun . Bruno was already prepping his food as Ariana planned what she was going to make . She decided to start dessert first as it was going to need time to set . She happily started heating up milk after she pulled out a few eggs to sit on the table .
AdvertisementPeople started gathering around in excitement . Some people were bold enough to make bets . Ariana was having too much fun . She had put her dessert in the oven and set the timer . She then moved to making her dressing . She needed to concentrate to make sure she didn't curled the mixture . She moved her hands elegantly as she whipped the eggs, oil and horse radish . When she completed the dressing she covered the bowl and stuck it in the fridge and started to finely minced a few chicken breast . She minced until it resembled ground chicken . She stuck that in the fridge and worked on making dough .
She didn't bother with looking over at Bruno's side . She just enjoyed herself as she prepared everything . Three people arrived shortly after, each one took a seat and stared at each cooking station . There was only half an hour left but the last half hour was crucial . Everything had to be times perfectly so that the judges could eat hot or warm meals . Ariana quickly plated her salad and placed it on a cart for the judges to eat .
"Ladies and gentlemen . " A man wearing a purple suit said . He was standing at the first judge's seat and was given a pin with the number one on it . "Today I, Wyatt Krone, owner of the Golden Brewery am here today along with Grayson Johnpine, owner of Johnpine Dairy and Clancy Klopp, owner of Slabs and Fine Butchers, are here to act as judges for today's unorthodox competition . Now we are here to act in good faith and willhave impartial judgment when tasting these dishes . So to show our good faith, I will be flipping a coin to decide the order of the competitors . If Mr . Gale could please call out a side of the coin so we can start . " Mr . Krone announced as he pulled out a coin .
Bruno looked at the judges and couldn't help but grin . "I want heads . " He announced confidently . Mr . Krone then looked at Ariana . "Are you alright with tails?" He asked as he held the coin outwards . "Yes . " Ariana shouted . "Then let's begin!" Mr . Krone shouted as he tossed the coin in to the air . He then caught in dramatically and slapped the coin on the back of his hand . "Heads goes first!" He announced before he sat down in his seat .
Bruno slowly rolled his cart up to the judges and placed a salad in front of each person . "Today I give you a harvest spinach salad . It's spinach, with slices of pear, cranberries, goat cheese, pecans, strawberries and dressed in a raspberry vinaigrette . " Ariana's eyebrows shot up . The bastard stole the salad recipe from the Sugar Apple Cafe! She couldn't believe how thick skin he was but then again . Ariana should have set some rules, this was her mistake but it was only a minor mistake . Salads were easy to replicate, meals not so much .
"Oh my this is absolutely delicious!" Mr . Krone raved as he took more bites . "Simply refreshing . " Mr . Johnpine chimed in . "It's fine . " Mr . Klopp said as he took small bites . "Well gentleman your scores for the salad?" Virginia asked as her nose pointed in to the sky .

"A total of 26 points . " Virginia laughed as one of the young ladies from the cafe placed the score up on a board for everyone to see . "Ohhhh!" The crowd shouted as they clapped . Bruno thanked the judges and watched as Ariana took her turn . "Today I give you a Cesar salad . I made a garlic dressing from scratch along with herb infused croutons . It's romain lettuce topped off with parmesan cheese, bacon bits and a hint of lemon juice . " Ariana said after she put the plates down .
"It has too much garlic for me . " Mr . Krone said after he took a bite . "It's so different but I'm not a fan of the lemon juice . " Mr . Johnpine announced after taking a bite and just pushed the plate aside . "It's fine . " Mr . Klopp said as he took a few bites . "Your score gentlemen?" Virginia asked as a devil like smile spread across her face .

"So that gives a total of 20 to the little girl . " Virginia snickered as she turned to look at the scoreboard . Ariana bowed and thanked the judges . "Next meal!" Virginia shouted as her eyes sparkled with anticipation . The chefs turned and started to plate everything . They loaded their carts and brought it forward . Mr . Krone stood up and held up the coin . "Excuse me, can I make a suggestion?" Ariana asked loudly .
