"So she'll be fine now?" Halina asked as she watched Rahul disappear. "Yes." Ariana answered. "She can hear them too?" Talisha whispered. Ariana broke out in a cold sweat as her eyes grew wide with shock. Both girls stared her down as Ariana's eyes darted around. "Nope! Not answering!" She shouted as she ran away leaving Talisha and Halina completely dumbstruck. 'Why didn't you just tell them Thor translates?' Vasu called out as he chased after Ariana. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" Ariana shouted back as she spotted what she was looking for.

'What are you planning?' Vasu asked as he followed closely. "The only way to make people forget about what happened is to give them something else to laugh about." Ariana said as she picked up her pace. 'Are you sure you want to do this.' Vasu said as he guessed what she planned to do. "Don't stop me." Ariana said as she reached the stage. Vasu silently watched as she walked around the stage and made it to the back.

"Are you sure?" She heard someone say. Ariana looked around and spotted Mrs. Dabney talking to a young lady crying. "Mrs. Dabney is everything okay?" Ariana asked as she jogged over. "Oh Ariana! Can you do me a huge favour?" Mrs. Dabney asked as the girl sniffed away her tears. "Sure, anything for you." Ariana replied with a smile.

Mrs. Dabney handed her a piece of paper as she gave her a pleading look. "Can you sing?" She asked. Ariana looked at the pitiful girl, she saw how hard the poor girl cried and made up her mind. She looked at Mrs. Dabney and gave her a reassuring nod. "It's been a couple of years but yes I can." She answered. "Thank goodness! Phillipa you can go rest." Mrs. Dabney said as she turned back to a fair skinned girl. Her bright orange eyes shown with relief. She quickly nodded her head and ran off. "You're an opening act, so don't worry too much." Mrs. Dabney said with excitement but she quickly felt worry when she saw that Ariana had started to cry.

"Oh no! Are you okay?!" She shouted. Ariana brought the paper to her chest and looked at Mrs. Dabney with a tear streaked, smiling face. "I will do my best." Ariana replied with conviction.

Ariana took a couple of deep breaths as she placed a hand overtop of her heart. 'You'll be fine.' Vasu said as he placed a small kiss on Ariana's cheek. 'A charm to help you calm down.' He said as he moved away. "Thank you." Ariana said with a small smile as she gently touched the kissed area. Vasu nodded his head then jumped away. As Vasu left her she instantly thought back how she changed her plans.

She closed her eyes and thought back to the last time she heard this song. She had just turned 18 years old and she wanted to see the movie so badly. So she snuck out to watch it. The last time she saw the movie was when she was incredibly young and she had gone to see it with someone special. Mrs. Dabney said and the crowd exploded into cheers. "That's what I want to hear! Now let's start of the party with the opening act." Mrs. Dabney announced. Ariana took another deep breath and walked out from behind the curtain. She felt confident when she stepped out into the light and looked at everyone.

Instantly people started to get upset and voiced their opinions indiscriminately.

"I thought Phillipa was supposed to sing!"

"Boo! Get off the stage!"

"Oye! We came to get us a good cup of brew! Not to listen to a bunch of crybabies!" A familiar voice shouted out. Ariana turned and instantly brightened up. The bush folk were standing by the refreshments table. "Go on sweetheart, if you sing as well as making a brew then I'd say sing." Murray said as he toasted her with a cup of hot coffee while the others cheered loudly.

Ariana bowed deeply, giving her thanks to the bush folk. She then straightened up her back and moved to the center of the stage. She gave a bright smile to the audience as she waited for the first note to be played. After a few moment went by and nothing started, the audience started to whisper and snicker. She looked over to the musicians, to her horror the students refused to play. "If it's not Phillipa I won't play." A young lady said as she got up from the piano and walked off the stage.

Soon after the others followed. Ariana paled and swallowed back saliva as she turned back to the crowd. Some started to laugh out loud as they watched. Ariana shut her eyes trying her best not to cry. The words of the song filled her head. She refused to give up and faced the crowd head on. She took a deep breath and opened her mouth.

As she looked out into the crowd she saw a very breathless Edlyn reach the back of the crowd with Rahul and Vasu in tow. Tears started to roll down Ariana's cheeks. She stretched out her hands hoping the rest of the song would give Edlyn the same strength she found when she heard it in her old life.

Ariana became breathless. She couldn't stop the tears from flowing. She looked back just as everyone started to applaud. Ariana thanked them wordlessly then turned back to the audience and gave a small bow before running off the stage. Edlyn raced up to Ariana but she held up her hand, stopping Edlyn in her tracks. "No... please just a moment... one minute.... I promise." Ariana said as her tears turned into sobs but Edlyn grabbed her and pulled her into an embrace.

"... Thank you." Ariana cried against Edlyn's shoulder. "Ariana! I haven't heard you sing in years!" Shirley shouted as rushed up to the girls. She quickly joined in the embrace as her cheerfulness started to calm down Ariana. "An angel! An absolute angel!" She continued to shout. "You absolutely blew me away!" Mrs. Dabney yelled as she waddled up to the small group. "Mrs. Dabney?" Ariana called out. "Oh my goodness! Was the song that moving for you?" Mrs. Dabney said remorsefully. "Phillipa had the same problem. She was having the hardest time trying to give the right emotions to the song. I just never thought the musicians would walk off! They all practiced together, I didn't think they would develop a bond with one another. Thank goodness Cayden was close by." Mrs. Dabney said as she gave Ariana a sympathetic look.

"Mrs. Dabney... did you write that song?" Ariana asked as she brushed back her tears. "No... I heard the song from somewhere else and wrote it down from memory." She answered with a bittersweet smile. "I was just surprised you memorized it so quickly." She said as she watched Ariana closely. "Honey that was nothing! This little one used to sing and work at the same time at her mom's cafe. Best place to get a show and a good meal." Shirley said as she gave Ariana a one arm hug.

Mrs. Dabney just gave Shirley a smile in place of a response. The next group went up, setting up the stage so they could perform. "Well the party has officially started so attendees will be dancing soon. I am just gonna get out of everyone's way. No one wants to bump into a pregnant lady." Mrs. Dabney said as she waved her bye and walked off.

"Ey! Little songbird!" Gus yelled as he, Chuck and Ivan walked over. "What the hell is this?! They said it was your idea." Gus continued to shout as he walked over with a glass of dark liquid. "Gus! Chuck! Ivan! Hello!" Ariana shouted back. "Forget your 'ello! W'at the 'ell is t'is?!" Ivan shouted as he pointed to Gus's glass. "Um, iced coffee?" Ariana said sheepishly. "Do you not like it?" Ariana asked as her heart sank to the pit of her stomach.

"Don't like it?! Are you daft?! We love the stuff but it's on short supply! What's the meaning of this blasphemy?!" Chuck shouted. Ariana blinked her eyes a few times before their words finally processed in her brain. "You like it?" She asked cautiously. "Nah! We love it, get it right songbird!" Gus shouted before he took another sip of his drink. "Oy! Gus! We are supposed to s'are!" Ivan shouted. "Bugger! Get your own!" Gus shouted back as he pushed Ivan away with his twig arms. Ariana couldn't help but let out a heartfelt laugh. "Shirley, do we have some more in the back?" Ariana asked as she wiped away the rest of her tears.

"Not yet. Flora's been brewing but they've been drinking faster then we can get out. We still have lots of the frozen coffee you had us make though." Shirley answered. "That's good enough. Fill the cups with milk and add a tablespoon of the coffee liqueur. That should satisfy the bush folk." Ariana said with a wink. "Right, so Shirley come with us." Gus said as he, Chuck and Ivan abducted Shirley. "Thanks!" Ariana shouted as she watched them take Shirley away. "Feeling better?" Edlyn asked with a light chuckle. "Lots." Ariana said with a bright smile. "I'm just upset that I missed most of the song!" Edlyn said with a pout.

"Where we you?" Ariana asked. "I went to go sit in the quad by the school. I was feeling a little depressed but Vasu told me you were being harassed so I ran as fast as I could to get back here to help you." Edlyn said as she scratched the back of her head and gave an awkward smile. "Thank you." Ariana whispered. "Anything for you." Edlyn answered with a giant grin. "Now my lady, can I please have this dance?" Edlyn asked in a deep, dignified voice as she stretched out an arm.

"No! Can I have this dance my lady?" Ariana said in a deeper voice as she bowed, extending an inviting hand. Edlyn laughed hard as she grabbed Ariana's hand. "I can't help but be a proper lady." Edlyn said in a dramatically high pitched voice as she batted her lashes. "We both know I'm too manly to be the lady in this relationship." Ariana said as she straightened up her back and tugged at one of the white lapels on her sleeves dress. "Oh my!" Edlyn giggled as she fanned herself with her hand. Both girls laughed as they walked onto the dance floor.

People gawked as her and Edlyn moved around with giant smiles. Unfortunately not many people appreciated their merriment.

"Do they know women shouldn't dance with one another?"

"How pretentious of them! Doing whatever they want?!"

"Does she always want to stick out getting attention like her whore mother?!"

"Hey!" Talisha shouted when she heard the murmuring of others. She grabbed a napkin and cleaned off her hands then adjusted her one shoulder, asymmetrical dress. When she made sure nothing would pop out she took her first step forward. "Ariana! The next dance is mine!" She shouted as she stomped over towards the two, the white trim on her one shoulder strap and around her waist glittered under the sunlight, making her eye catching.

She separated Ariana and Edlyn, then turned to Edlyn and held out her hand. "Dance with me!" She shouted. Edlyn laughed as she grabbed Talisha's hand. "Wait! Me too!" Halina shouted as she ran over. Her silver, halter top dress sparkled as she moved. The ruffled layers swayed with each hurried step she took. "Ariana, me, dance, you, please." She mumbled as she turned bright red. "Definitely!" Ariana shouted as she grabbed Halina's hand. The four started dancing up a storm as the music played and the singers continued to sing. Everyone who watched was completely speechless.

Soon others started to pull their friends and started dancing. Teachers were even dragged in and Breeze pushed himself through, catching Ariana's hand in the middle of the fun. "Can you believe those uncivilized barbarians?!" Vanessa shouted to her group of girls. "I don't see anything wrong with it." Cayden said as he came up beside them. Instantly silencing Vanessa. "Would you like to dance?" One of the girls asked Cayden as she held out her hand. She blushed a crimson red while Vanessa kept her poker face. "Sorry I don't dance." Cayden replied as he looked at the extended hand. "I'm one of those barbarians." He said before walking off.

Vanessa almost spat blood when she watched him walk away. The first week, Cayden had only said one or two words to her at most. Everything else was grunts and hums. The only time he spoke sentences was when she was with others, in particular other females. She had to dump her male groupies and somewhat grow up before he even looked in her direction. What was more infuriating was she knew that Cayden could dance but he didn't ask for her hand.

After a while people started to walk to the refreshments table and were in awe with all the drinks they had never seen before. "Oy, leave that iced tea for my old lady over here." Murray said as he pointed at a glass of green ice tea. "Sorry!" A shocked first year boy said as he backed away. "Try that over there, we bush folk are not partial to the fruity stuff." Murray recommend as he pointed to a red liquid. "Thank you." The boy said as he reached for the drinks.

Ariana was still dancing happily as Cayden watched her closely. It had been a while since he had seen her so carefree but he noticed he wasn't the only one watching her. Anger flashed his eyes when he saw Flint eyeing her. The song finished and a male and female pair of singers walked up onto the stage while the others took their break. The song was familiar to him, he smiled to himself while others seemed confused. They were unsure of the music.

They started to sing. "I can show you the world.

Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?" The male sang and Ariana froze in place. She looked up to the singers and felt another wave of tears wanting to escape. "Can I have this dance?" Cayden asked as he walked up to Ariana's group. "Yes you can!" Edlyn said happily as she placed Ariana's hand into Cayden's while she was confused. "Please take care of her." Edlyn said as she dragged Halina and Talisha off the dance floor, leaving the two alone.

"I can open your eyes, take you wonder by wonder. Over, sideways and under on a magic carpet ride." The male continued to sing. Cayden wrapped his arm around Ariana's waist and brought her close before they started to dance. Ariana stared at Cayden wide eyed as they danced around the floor. She didn't know where she was allowed to look and decide to look at his chest.

"A whole new world. A new fantastic point of view. No one to tell us no or where to go or say we're only dreaming." He continued to sing and Ariana cold hear a small humming sound, she looked up at Cayden and found out that he was the one humming. Her heart started to race uncontrollably.

"A whole new world. A dazzling place I never knew but when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear that now I'm in a whole new world with you." The female sang first and the male sang the next part but Ariana was caught off guard when she heard Cayden sing in a low voice. "Now I'm in a whole new world with you."

Ariana couldn't believe what she was hearing. She blinked and couldn't stop herself singing along with the female singer. "Unbelievable sights. Indescribable feeling. Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling through an endless diamond sky." Cayden gave her a charming smirk and started to do more daring moves with Ariana on the dance floor.

"A whole new world." Ariana sang softly. "Don't you dare close your eyes." Cayden whispered into her ear as he picked up by the waist and spun her in the air. "A hundred thousand things to see." Ariana sand as he placed her back on the ground then gave her a small spin. "Hold your breath - it gets better." He sang with a light laugh as he grabbed her from behind and placed his lips next to her temple. "I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far. I can't go back to where I used to be." Ariana sang breathlessly as Cayden turned her around and made her face him. "A whole new world." He sang.

"Every turn a surprise." Ariana sang with a small giggle. "With new horizons to pursue." Cayden sang right after. "Every moment red-letter." She sang as she brought up her hand and gently stroked his cheek. Cayden eyes flashed with desire. "I'll chase them anywhere. There's time to spare. Let me share this whole new world with you." They both sang quietly to each other.

"A whole new world. That's where we'll be." The singers on the stage sang as Cayden caught Ariana's hand and brought it to his chest. Ariana gulped as she felt Cayden's heart beat under her touch. "A thrilling chase." The male sang. "A wondrous place." The female sang right after. Ariana couldn't look away from Cayden as he leaned in. "For you and me." The singers sang together while Cayden's lips were gently placed over Ariana's lips.
