Mrs. Dabney started to laugh as she pushed Flint towards the door. "You already took the potion! Don't worry, in about two hours you will have your dashing face again! Now scoot on out I have others I need to attend to." She said as she pushed Flint out the door and slammed it shut. "Now I need to get you fixed up in a jiffy but I have a very serious question for you and I want you to answer very honestly." Mrs. Dabney said as she looked at Ariana with suspicious eyes. After Ariana settled down Mrs. Dabney grabbed a syringe and a small bottle of green sparkling liquid. "Sorry sweetie this will be the fastest way to heal up that wrist if yours." She said as she stuck the syringe into the bottle. "Your going to feel a slight pinch then a burning sensation. That is all normal." She said as she brought the syringe upwards, she pushed up some liquid and then tapped the glass. "Alright, you can watch or look away if you like needles but I can guarantee you I have the gentlest hands in my graduating class."

Ariana smiled and waited for for Mrs. Dabney to administer the shot. When she saw the needle pierce her skin her stomach started to turn. She averted her gaze and tried to think of something else. Soon the potion was taking affect and Ariana could feel her wrist flare up in pain. She did her best to muffle her scream but a sound still escaped her lips. "Oh sweetheart! Mrs. Dabney said as she started escorting the girls out, Ariana started to seat and her breathing started to become irregular. Edlyn started to worry but Mrs. Dabney did nothing. It took a while for the girls to find the detention room and to their horror the room was not a room but a legitimate prison. Built underneath the school. It had three rows of cells all stacked on top of one another, a small winding stair case and their own walk ways. The room was completely well lit but it didn't get rid of the eerie sensation. I am sure the fac-ul-ty will be will-ing to ccom-mo-date us or at least the Stu-dent Coun-cil Pre-sid-ent." Edlyn shouted but saw the colour drain from Ariana's face. Cayden rushed towards the bars of his cell with a loud thud. "Here! I am here!" He shouted as he stuck out his entire arm and waved.

Ariana and Edlyn looked around and they could not find him. Edlyn walked over to the railing and looked down. "There! I see him! Last Row." She shouted as she she rushed back to Ariana's side. They both raced down the winding stair case and rushed to his cell. When Ariana saw Cayden's face she gasped. He was barely recognizable, half his face was swollen and covered with black and blue bruises. His right arm was broken in two different spots and he had slashes all over his body. "What the hell hap-pen-ed to you?! Here, here have some po-tion to help heal your woun-ds." Edlyn said as she fumbled to retrieve the potion from the medical bag.

When she got it her face lit up and she tried to pass it to Cayden but he refused to take it. "Leave me alone." He said as he walked further away and sat down. "What do you mean leave you lone! Do you know how you look at this very mo-ment?! It is aw-ful! Ariana tell him to take the po-tion." She said ash she turned to face Ariana but her face was twisted with anger. "Why did you do it?" She whispered but Cayden looked away.

"Answer me! Why did you start fighting Flint?! He has done nothing to you but you had to beat him up in front of your grandfather didn't you?!" She shouted causing Cayden to bring his gaze to meet hers. "That man is not my grandfather." He hissed but Ariana wouldn't back down. She walked up to the bars and glared at Cayden. "Why did you do it." She asked again with a low and menacing voice. "I didn't like his face." He said bluntly then closed his eyes as he leaned his back and head against the wall. "Cayden... why do care about me?" She asked softly but Cayden didn't open his eyes. "You're my childhood friend." He replied swiftly.

"No, I was the person you were hired to protect but you failed... Why did you come back into my life? Why did you stick around me after we met again? I barely remember you until.... well.... Cayden why are you still protecting me?" She asked. Cayden slowly opened his eyes and moved his head away from the wall. "Why did you stop writing me two years ago? Why did you have a scar on your back? Why did you say you were imprisoned?" He threw back at her. Ariana sighed and moved her gaze to the floor. "Vasu." She called out and the pink, chibi deer appeared before her. "Please help Cayden." She asked pitifully and Vasu nodded his head.

He wiggled through the bars and took long strides towards Cayden. "What are you planning to do?" Cayden asked as he tried to press himself more against the wall. "I stopped writing on the day of my birthday." She started to say and Cayden froze in place. He looked at Ariana, forgetting that Vasu was trying to get close to him. "I found out it's New Year's day." She laughed pitifully at herself while Vasu jumped onto Cayden. Vasu started to glow pink and Cayden's body started to slowly heal.

"See something funny happened to my body and some people left me because of it. I didn't mean to scare anyone but a monster is a monster and well I almost lost my life... Next thing I know I wake up from a chrysalis and two years had already gone by. Funny isn't it?! I mean two years wow... so as for the scar on my back well it was from training. Vasu finished healing Cayden, he turned back into light and promptly returned to his master's ear.

"So now you know... Cayden why did you do it?" She said as she held his gaze. Cayden opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water. "Fine let me guess..." She said as her heart drummed against her chest and her hands became drenched in sweat. "Vasu told you." She said and Cayden became furious. "What else was I supposed to do!" He shouted as he picked himself up and started taking strides towards her.

He eagerly sealed her lips with his own through the bars. "Cayden!" Ariana shouted as she pulled away but Cayden brought her back for another kiss.

"Why?" She murmured when he finally let go of her lips. "Everything has changed." He said as he tried to calm his breathing down. "Cayden?" She asked but he moved his gaze to Edlyn. "Don't let her be alone with Flint. That bastard is looking to finish what he started and I will not let that happen." Edlyn nodded her head in agreement she then looked at Ariana hoping she would get the full story but Ariana dropped her gaze. "Good, now go back you need to get changed and ready for homeroom." He said as he reluctantly let Ariana go. "I will come find you later... we have a lot to talk about."

"Talk? Why and what do you mean things changed?! Cayden you can't be so criptic." Ariana complained but Edlyn grabbed her hand and looked at Cayden sensing something wrong. "I will keep her safe." She said with fire burning in her eyes. "Good... stay safe." He said as he looked at Ariana. "Now go." He shouted and Edlyn dragged Ariana away. "Why would he do that?" Ariana asked as Edlyn continued to drag her along. "Easy, he loves you." Edlyn replied matter-of-factly. "No your wrong, he wants me to be with someone else." She replied honestly.

"Are you so sure?" Edlyn asked. Ariana's heart ached, she hoped that he would stop pushing her away but she decided to think about what she saw and shook her head. "No, that can't be it. He told me he has to do it right with his fiancee." She said as they made it through the first door. "Sure believe in what he says and not how he acts but I will tell you what I see. He is crazy over you." Edlyn said as she gave her an all knowing smile. "If only...." She replied. "If only."
