He heart started to race, she pulled back Edlyn and looked her in the eyes. "Where's Cayden?" She asked but Edlyn dropped her gaze. "En-ter-tain-ing his fian-cee." She said in a sad tone causing the happy feeling in Ariana's chest to turn into agonizing pain. In her mind Cayden must have been smiling affectionately at Vanessa, there was no way he was here waiting to see if she was okay, let alone spare a thought for her. "R-right... h-how long was I out?" She asked but she couldn't hide the hurt in her voice.

Edlyn brought her gaze back up and bit her bottom lip. When it came to the people Ariana cared about her feelings were like an open book. The nurse said with a giant grin.

Ariana felt nauseous, everything was so overwhelming. She didn't know what to do as a representative and she didn't intend to permanently take Vera's job away, she just wanted Edlyn and the others to have a proper mentor. She brought her gaze back up and was shocked to see the nurse's face so close to her. "Here let me tell you something good. Something to put a smile on that pretty face. I like you! You got guts! Everyone I meet, who walks through these doors right here, are whinny and snowflake like that I'm bored to tears but not you! If you were a man you would have some balls!" She said with a cat like smile as she dramatically cupped the air with her hands. "I'm sorry?" Ariana asked awkwardly. The nurse stretched out her arms and caught Ariana within her embrace.

"I said I like you! Not in a romantic sense, got a bun in the oven if you know what I mean! My hormones are all over the place and I start to cry at a drop of a pin or I get angry... so angry... tears run down my face regardless of anger or sadness but since I became so... cough... bloated. Ariana struggled to process everything she heard. The nurse was a fast talker and she couldn't even get a word in even if she tried. She looked at her face but saw that the nurse's smile started to shake. She couldn't wait any longer. "My goodness your a slow one! Unless it's spelled out for you, you won't catch what I'm selling! My name is Roselyn Dabney, my husband is the one you beat up the other day!" She roared with laughter. Ariana's jaw dropped again and she wondered if she was going to dislocate it soon. "Enough with the gawking! Enough really. We talked and I like you so everything is good! Hell I might even pitch the idea to my idiot husband to let you be the godmother for this little one." She said cheerfully as she patted her belly.

"But he might be reluctant to hug you after you beat the sh*t out of him for hugging your friend. So cut him some slack.... Now that I think about it he might like you too for beating him senseless... strong woman, noble heart, pretty as a fairy, why not?! We will be in touch soon to make the arrangements! Now since you're fine, get a move on! It's time to meet the people as they say and don't worry about the Student Council they won't bite... that hard!" She laughed again as she released Ariana from her semi embrace and started to move her and Edlyn out of the infirmary.

"Good luck!" She said cheerfully before she shoved them out the door and slammed it shut. Ariana looked at Edlyn in complete surprise. "I don't think she likes me very much do you?" Edlyn let out a heartfelt laugh as tears rolled down her face. "She knows what she wants!" She laughed. "Ha! See don't think about your words so much it comes out perfectly or maybe you should laugh more when you speak?" Ariana said as she wrapped an arm around Edlyn's shoulder and brought her in for a hug. She winced and Edlyn quickly removed her arm and started to.inspect it meticulously.

"Edlyn I'm fine. Even Mrs. Dabney said I was fine! I'm just a little tender, that's all." Ariana said pitifully but Edlyn wasn't satisfied. She looked her arm carefully then put it down gently. "Time to go." She said softly as she looked Ariana. "Thank you for worrying about me." Ariana said bashfully but Edlyn gave her a dead pan look. "I'm not the on-ly one but st-upid is st-upid, can't fix it." She said then walked away. Ariana was left dumbstruck.

She had no idea who she was referring too but a smiling face flashed in her mind. She instantly blushed and started to hum to herself as she slowly chased after Edlyn. Even though she knew he was entertaining his finacee, she was allowed to dream and she couldn't stop herself from smiling.

Edlyn and Ariana walked down a couple of halls and corridors as she happily hummed. Edlyn wondered if singing was something within her grasp as she blushed from her own selfish desire. It's a song that has been embedded into my heart and when I feel lonely I sing it but now I can add a happy memory to it so let's sing it together one day okay?" Edlyn looked at her friend and only nodded in agreement. She knew practically everything about Ariana but at the same time she felt like she knew nothing. It was only facts, superficial surfaces and some hidden truths. She wondered if there was ever going to be a day that she would know everything, every feeling, thought and past about her but knew deep down inside it was impossible there was someone who would be so much more important to her and it hurt.

"Edlyn... you know no one will ever replace you right?" Edlyn snapped back to reality and looked at Ariana with watering eyes. Ariana gave her a gentle smile, her eyes reflected a deep affection for Edlyn that she was taken aback. "It takes time for people to really get to know one another and I plan to keep you with me until we are super old. Actually I hope that are children could get married to one another and if they can't then our grandchildren! Edlyn... Edlyn screamed as she fell backwards, the faceless mist opened its slit like mouth as it smiled at her.

Ariana stepped in front of Edlyn shielding her from the monster. "You can't get into the school." She said as she eyed the mist. "I can get in! I can get in! I just don't want to... what I want is you... the pure princess, I need to you! I need you! I need you! I NEED YOU!" The mist panted with urgency as he slid his hands down the pane of the window. "Nooooo!" Edlyn screamed as she covered her ears. "Come in if you dare! I will destroy you!" Ariana shouted as she heard hurried footsteps running their way. The mist looked to its left and started to disperse into the air. "I will have you stand next to me...." He said as he finally disappeared.

"Edlyn!" Xander shouted as he appeared around the corner. He spotted the girls and rushed over. Edlyn was trembling so violently that Xander couldn't helped but drop down to his kness, and scoop her up into his arms. Embracing her tightly as his one hand slipped behind her head. Something is after her, it wants to make Edlyn it's queen and something needs to be done about it... but first I'm going to the mess hall to address the first and third years. I want to get this done and over with already."

Xander nodded his head as Edlyn's tears turned into tiny sniffles and hiccups. "I swear I'll protect her with my life." Ariana looked back and smiled. "I'll hold you to that." She said before she walked off. When she was sure she was far enough she slowed down her pace. "Lumas, you have see that monster three times. Do you know what it is or what it wants with Edlyn and what is a pure princess?" The Lumas didn't say a single word. Ariana stopped walking and sighed. "Vasu, please come out." She asked while the Lumas protested loudly. Vasu happily appeared before her. Ariana stretched out her arms and waited for Vasu to jump in but he hesitated.

"Will no one tell me anything?" She asked as her gentle smile slowly disappeared from her face. Vasu was torn, he wanted to jump into his master's arms and cuddle but that would mean revealing things he had no right to speak of but he didn't like seeing his master so unhappy. 'Master it's not we don't want to tell you it is just we can't tell you.' Aroha whispered into her master's ear. "Why can't you?" Ariana asked. 'We would be disrupting destinies if we meddle too much.' Lorelei chimed in. 'We are just observers nothing more.' Davita said. 'Our responsibility is to our Master no one else.' Rahul said. 'We are drawn to her like any other creature but we can't let our own personal feelings interfere with our own mission.' Duko said sadly.

"Your own mission? What mission? I thought I gave you life, your purpose was to live freely, I didn't give you a mission. I didn't want you bound to me, that's why Adonis is with Cayden but... who gave you a mission?" No one answered. Ariana could feel tears well up in her eyes. She always believed they stayed with her because she was something like a mother to the Lumas but to find out they had their own agenda. It was nothing short of a slap to the face, who gave them a mission? What was their mission? Did they even want to be with her?

'Master, your meeting...' Vasu said as he stared at Ariana. "I... No... my head is a mess right now. I don't want to go." Ariana said as tears rolled down her face. Vasu rushed forward and cuddled against Ariana's neck. Ariana's body started to warm up and she closed her eyes. 'I will lead you to where you can get your answers.' He said gently. 'Vasu!' Aroha roared but he ignored her completely. 'Go do your job first. Smile, don't show any weakness then we will go.'

"Vasu can you tell me about your mission?" Vasu removed himself from the crook of her neck and looked up at her. 'Not allowed.' He responded shocking Ariana. Vasu was very stone faced creature, he usually should his affection and joy with actions but everything else sadness, anger, fear, envy or sleepiness was something she had never seen. However the way Vasu looked at her in that very moment was shocking. His eyes showed so much desperation, sadness and fear that she couldn't look at him anymore. She averted her gaze. "Don't answer... instead can you answer one question. Only this one question and I promise to never ask anything about your mission."

'Ask.' Vasu said while the other Lumas protested. "Is it hard being with me?" She said as she broke down into bigger tears.
