"He even kissed me on the lips in front of my entire family! I was mortified and happy at the same time. My poor dad was really upset but my mom was so happy! She even called my entire family over and we had a huge feast to celebrate." Edlyn reported through the gaps of her fingers.

"EDLYN!" Ariana shouted at the top of her lungs. She was too excited for her dear friend. "Um, sorry to rain on this moment but why are you talking about your engagement with Xander?" Halina asked awkwardly. Edlyn tilted her head and looked at Halina with a confused stare.

"I know. I found out yesterday that ladies aren't supposed to talk about their engagements. It's very rude and frowned upon. Screw that! Edlyn were're practically family anyways so talk about it so more." Ariana said with a wide grin. "It's rude?!" Edlyn shouted as her hair practically stood on end. "But Faye talks about hers all the time!" Edlyn protested. "Ya I know but etiquette is stupid. It's makes girl talk so hard." Ariana said as she rolled her eyes.

"Who's Faye?" Talisha asked as she sat on Ariana's bed and made herself comfortable. "Faye is my aunt." Edlyn answered. "And she's marrying my uncle Zachary." Ariana chimed in happily. "No way! No wonder you said your practically family." Halina shouted as she jumped onto the bed. "But your adopted." Talisha pointed out. "Your point?" Ariana and Edlyn answered in unison as they gave Talisha matching indifferent stare. "Well screw etiquette!" Talisha roared as she pumped her fist into the air.

The girl spent a good chunk of their time talking about the upcoming engagement and designing Edlyn's dress. They talked for so long that they had to run to the bathhouse with their uniforms in their arms. Talisha was able to get ready first and she ran to the cafeteria before they closed. They met up again and walked to the assembly hall as the ate their danshes.

"So what do you think the emergency assembly is about?" Halina asked after she dusted her hands clean. "Might be about what happened yesterday." Edlyn said as she dropped her voice to a whisper. "The attack?" Talisha asked as she furrowed her brows. "Yes." Edlyn replied with a head nod. "How did you know about the attack?" Ariana asked.

"My girls reported it to me the moment it happened. It was something they had never seen before and lots of people got hurt." Talisha said as she looked at Ariana. "How do you know about it?" She then asked. "I was there." Ariana replied then shut her mouth. "WHAT?!" Halina shouted in surprise. "Shhh!" Edlyn hissed. "I already have dentention because of it. I am in no mood to talk about it." Ariana said sternly. So the topic was dropped but not forgotten.

"So the assembly is to stop us from doing something stupid then." Talisha said as they got closer to the hall. "Probably." Ariana said as they went in. The girls walked in silence as they approached their seating area.

Students were murmuring as they all speculated what the emergency assembly was for. "SILENCE!" Mr. Dabney shouted as the Headmaster approached the stand. Everyone silently took their seats. "I have a very sad announcement to make. Ms. Hadley will be taking a leave, she will be taking care of her father's funeral arrangements and I will Professor Rain to act in her stead." The Headmaster said. Ariana's eyes grew wide in horror. She quickly scanned the stage and spotted Rain. He looked pale, his eyes were puffy and red while his hair was in a mess.

She quickly covered her mouth to stop herself from cry but she still heard sniffing. She looked beside her and Edlyn was already in tears. "Poor Ms. Hadley." She whispered. Ariana looked around and saw that other students were also crying. "I do not have an estimated time for her return but we will need to keep moving forward during these times." The Headmaster continued.

"These times?" Some students whispered but Ariana kept her mouth covered. Her eyes started to sting. "You may not all know but an emergency notice was sent out to your families yesterday and as of last night we came to a hard conclusion. You are all safe inside the Academy and will be permanently locked in until the threat has passed." The Headmaster stated and an uproar started as students protested the decision.

The Headmaster looked down at the students and waited for them to become silent again before he started again. "The City was attacked yesterday. Many people were killed while many more injured. It was thanks to the members of the church that they were able to stop the threat from taking more lives. However that threat escaped and is still on the loose. Your parents have agreed to keep you all here until that threat has been elimanted." The Headmaster said sternly.

No one said a single word. They all looked down and wondered what was going to happen next. "Now I also want you all on your best behaviour for the next few weeks. I was informed that Brother Jie and Kay will be coming too our school to investigate the matter regarding the most recent sighting of a holy power. Please be courteous when you see the brothers and please do not over exagerate your stories." The Headmaster said a some students faces lite up.

"The priestess was actually here! They are coming to meet her." Ariana heard from behind her. She then lowered her hand and sat quietly. "We don't want to over excite the church just in case the stories that have been spreading around are fabricated." The Headmaster said as he narrowed his gaze. Suddenly Nurse Kyrie stood up and ran to the podium.

"Just a small announcement! Pease come by the office to get a check up and to get to know me! I do get lonely when I have nothing to do." She said as she snuggled up next to the Headmaster. Ariana couldn't help but think how beautiful they looked together. "That you Mr. Finely." The Headmaster said as he pushed him away.

Ariana turned to Edlyn and she wore the same expression as her. They were both shocked. "I was surprised too when I found out that the nurse was actually a male." Talisha said with a dead pan face.
