My Stubborn Mistress 368 Somewhere, Trapped In Time: I Who Will Become Your Enemy, Mother

He followed the men upstairs, and when he can't find them on the second floor and the third floor of this villa, he took the stairs headed to the attic and then heard the conversation between two men whom he knew that Henry was mute.

But he spoke normally and even sounded like Klein or Carlisle. Which one? He could notice the similarity both from the twin's voices.

But the next conversation they were talking is about the future, and such things unbelievable for him. It is impossible! Charles thought.

"How long have you been listening to us, Doctor Charles?" There's sharpness in Quinn's tone.

He came back to his senses and then replied to Quinn. "I guess, I did not hear everything, but I heard enough. So, I want to understand what is happening here. So, both of you are from the future? How could this be possible? And how about Carlene?"

"Her name is Madison."

"Madison? Hah, it's a beautiful name." Charles murmured to himself, stroking his chin.

Quinn glances at Levi, smirking… he who staring dumbly at Charles. He could feel it, but he can't get jealous of his past self as they only fall in love with the same woman at the moment… the difference is, he was Charles reincarnation.

Doctor Charles looked up. Once again, he is peering with great amazement at Levi and Quinn, especially that Quinn took off his disguise.

It stunned him seeing someone who resembles the twin Williams. But as he heard a while ago, this man is both Carlisle and Klein.

Levi explained once again. "I am you, more than 200 years after." Levi took off his fake beards he put on his face and completely revealed how he resembles him.

Charles's eyes wide open, stunned and can't still believe he is meeting his reincarnation.

"How did this happen? I mean, you and me?"

"Yes. This is also strange to me, yet but here I am, we are meeting the past."

"And I am the past, which you as the future me. Wow!" Charles endless awed. "But you also mentioned about  Isabella and Carlisle, then Marivella. Is it true that they must kill each other for you to exist in the future? I mean, for us to reincarnate or something related to immortality?"

Levi's eyes peered at Charles with astonishment. He was this genius already ever since in his first life, he could quickly comprehend every aspect of the mystery they hold. Charles did just eavesdrop at them, but he immediately understood everything already. "I guess we need not explain to you everything."

"Yes, it is better that way. I need not know everything, just this enough information," Charles concurred. "So, Carlisle must marry to Isabella? Klein then got interested in Marivella upon meeting her, then goes on… something will happen a few years from now, Marivella gives birth to Madison I mean, Carlene, and then I will raise the child?"

"Until Lady Isabella reborn and meet Carlene, she will show something to Isabella," Levi explained further and Charles listening closely.

Meanwhile, Madison quietly stepped down the staircase.

"Where are they?" Marivella asked Carlene. She finished setting the table, but she did not see the three men coming down. "Breakfast is ready. Aren't they hungry?"

"Oh, well… there is something they discuss, and I guess, it is important, so I did not disturb them."

"Oh, okay. Then we should wait for them?"

"How if we go give the food to Mr. Gene and the other soldiers first?"

"That's a great idea!" Marivella agreed. A warm smile plastered on her lips. She then immediately prepare the food and Madison helps to carry the trays of breakfast, bringing outside.

Madison observes Marivella keenly. Even after what happened yesterday, Marivella still calmed. Madison thought, and she's glad about it. But she wondered if Marivella could still attend the Gala?

Lured the Royal guards successfully, Carlisle halted in a hidden alley. He looks around before he headed to the busy street of central Paris, headed to the Royal Military Headquarters in the northern part of the city. He changes his clothes into his army uniform before he headed to the Manor where her mother stayed.

"Welcome back, Captain Williams," greeted by the Butler.

"Where's my mother?" he asked which could sense the anger in his voice.

"She was in the tearoom with the tailor, Captain—"

He wasted no more, did not wait for the butler to finish, Carlisle hastily marches towards the tearoom. Anger registered all over his face and so, the butler trying to pacify him and blocks the hallway. Her mother has guests according to the butler, but Carlisle does not care. 

Since Genevieve learned that her son has a girlfriend which only a commoner; she then often visited Paris, and even stayed longer to watch her son.

And every time she is here, Marivella puts in danger. Carlisle thought. Forcibly, he pushes the door open. "Mother!"

"Carlisle, is that how you greeted your mother?" Genevieve elegantly places the silver teacup on the small platter. Silently, she darted glares at her son. She has guests and her beloved son does not care to embarrass her. Now, she felt further remorse toward a certain person, and that is the woman her son crazy about.

"How dare you hurting, Marivella again!" Dauntlessly, he accused his mother.

"How come that every time there is something happens to that woman, I was the one you accused!" Genevieve clenches her fists.

"There's none other who has huge anger to Marivella, but you." Carlisle controlled his anger, he attempts to speak calmly but firmly.

"How dare you accusing your mother this way! Is this how you pay me? I raised you with all my life! Provided you the highest education and this is how you will treat your mother?"  the duchess yells, suppressing her anger. She cannot accept how her son disrespects her in front of other people.

"Leave Marivella alone or else—"

"Or else what?" Genevieve shouted at Carlisle.

"I, who will become your enemy, mother."

"Are you threatening me?"

"Yes, Mother."

With a straight face, Carlisle did not avert his eyes. Meeting his mother's glare, he showed he did not joke around and determined to go against her.

Genevieve now shaking in anger. It shocks her how her son truly disrespects her this way because of that woman. "Your mind lose some screw! You're gone crazy because of that woman! Whether you don't like it, you will marry Isabella, and that is final!"

"There are other Williams for you to arrange a marriage with her, and if you really desired her to be your daughter-in-law... then why not arrange her with Klein or my cousin Howard."

Genevieve stood on her feet then slam the table. "But the Bennett wants you, and Isabella wants this marriage!"

"I doubt that." Carlisle tore a mocking smile that pisses his mother.

"What?" she snapped, glaring at her son.

"She and Howard who is in love with each other, and so, I know she is just forced to marry me."

"What are you talking about?" Genevieve knows this already, but she does not care. Importantly, Williams and Bennet will become one and her support will become great. She wants Carlisle to become the next king of France once her cousin's reign falls and the prince has to die during his expedition to Newfound Land across the ocean soon. She already planned it all. No one should interfere. Genevieve loses in her thoughts, she quickly regains her prose.

"Force or not, you will do this for your family! End of discussion." Lifted her chin, she firmly asserts to her son.

Carlisle shook his head and then turned around to leave the room. He paused a moment, then glanced over his shoulder. "How about you marry her instead?"

"Carlisle Williams!"

The duchess throws the teacup and landed close to Carlisle's feet. Glancing at the broken cup, Carlisle resume marching toward the door.

"Where are you going?"

"There is nothing we have to talk further, so I'm going back to my duty."

"Your duty is your family, not your craziness!"

"Then abandon me as your son."

"What?" Shocked, Genevieve cannot believe that Carlisle will go this far. 

"Carlisle Williams! Come back here!" screams by the Duchess.

Carlisle slamming the door closed behind him. One thing he doesn't interest going home is because of his mother. He preferred stayed outside and wandering the streets than living a grand mansion which only shit is awaiting him.

Soon, he wanted to leave this place, where no one would interfere with his and Marivella's love. Once more, he will ask her to run away with him and live peacefully, away from his family and everyone else.

Carlisle grabbed the doorknob of the main door when the butler approached him.

"Young Master Williams, your mother wishes you to stay."

"There is nothing for me to stay here. That is why she need not look for me from now on."

"Young Master—"

"Brother!"

"Julienne!" 

He was in great surprise seeing his younger sister. "When did you arrive?" he asked while striding toward the staircase. Tightly, Carlisle hugs his sister.

"Last night. I have been traveling home since the other day." Julienne replied, she did not let go of Carlisle yet.

"I see. But how about school? Is it you are in the middle of lessons?" curiously he asked.

"Truth is, Mother, summons me to go home and never go back to London. She said, she will look for the best all-girls' academy then find the best teachers, then she will donate a huge amount to that school."

"Did something happens back in London?"

Julienne shook her head, then replied. "I am uncertain, brother."

Hmm, it was strange. Carlisle thought. "All right. I want to talk to you longer but I have to go now."

"Will you promise to come back?"

Carlisle peered at his sister's innocent face. How to reply to her? Julienne is fourteen years old and a beautiful young lady. He thinks she would already understand everything.

"Yes. I will see you later today, okay?" he promised to his sister.

Hearing this promise, Julienne smiled widely and hugs him one more time.

Carlisle stepped out of the manor with a heavy shoulder. Heaving a furious sighed, he closes his eyes and presses his lips.

Marivella needs him… is what he keeps repeating inside his head. Carlisle jumps on top of his horse and does a light kick to his warhorse. Making a slow pace, he encourages his horse to fasten its pace, and he rode with great speed.

The next thing he has to do now is visiting the Chen family, who he knew that greatly worried about Marivella.

"Yah!" Carlisle commanded his horse to run faster.
