My Stubborn Mistress 292 But She Is Only My Mistress?

In the long table, were seated are the FIVE FAMILIES.

The Williams, The Montfort, The Bennett, The Bastien, The De La Rue — the aristocrat families.

This includes the Young Family and Nicholas Crow.

During the meal, they talk random stuff while Quinn and Cassie often exchange glances across the dining table. Levi who seated next to Quinn notices this, and so, he repeatedly jokes on Quinn by taking his food, and he would instantly figure out who took it; the two then argue like little kids.

Cassie would only laugh at this, amused at them. She stretched her legs, and she hit someone's foot. Quinn glanced at her lovingly; blushing as she met his eyes. She understood it was Quinn's foot.

She remembers that Quinn only wore house slippers, as for Levi; who readied to go to office today, he was on his suit and tie paired to black shoes. Quinn and she looked at each other intimately as their foot rubbing — touching each other underneath the dining table.

Then, someone's fork drop on the floor, instantly their foot parted and act casual.

Cassie looks down on her plate and returns to eating silently while Quinn trying to pay attention every time someone called for him to ask something or by their parents about random stuff.

Then, a wonderful breakfast ended later on...

Cassie was trailing in the hallway when she saw Quinn. She was about to call him; Then he opened the door to the library in this mansion, and she saw Chairman Nicholas entered the room before him. She assumes that they will talk about the business since Uncle Nicholas is the owner of the corporation Quinn managing: surely, they will discuss a lot of things regarding the company.

Inside the library is Quinn following silently.

"Let us sit, Quinn." Nicholas gestured the empty sofas.

"Now, what do you want to know?" He asked after they both settled on the chair.

"I will go straight to the point, Uncle. Who is this Lady Isabella Bennett?" He began asking.

Nicholas stared at Quinn for a long moment, then he sighed.

"Okay. You probably heard it from Levi, I will guess this one."

"How about Madison Moore? Do you know her as well?" Quinn added.

The chairman takes a moment of silence before he answered to Quinn, "Yes. I know her and everything about her family."

"Then my parents knew her too?"

"No one from the Williams knew, but the Montfort's only kept this secret."

"Uncle Edward? Then Uncle Hendrick know as well?" He continues asking.

" Yes. It was the Montfort legacy, to watch over them." Said, Nicholas.

"How could you hide this to us? Especially to me?" Quinn's voice is a bit accusing this time.

And so Nicholas sighed once again. "Quinn, I did not mean to hide this from your family. You are my heir. Eventually, you will know about this from me at the right time. Particularly the time you replace me. And that was sooner." Nicholas explained.

"Just happen, Edward's death is so sudden. Yet, Levi not trained enough and informed enough." He added.

"How could you hide this to our family for a long time?"

"I'm sorry Quinn. Lady Isabella has in full control, we have agreements. It's been a long time since the last time you were born, everyone just waited for that day, so then, Lady Isabella could fulfil her goal once you both reincarnate once again."

"Is that so? So, are you saying that everything is actually because of me? There is a connection with me?"

"Partly yes, but she more looking after for Cassandra."

"Then, you have a connection with her."

"But said she is the reincarnation of my wife from our past life. This Lady Isabella."

"That's correct. She is." Said, Nicholas.

"But Cassandra was only my Mistress? But we have a daughter, Madison?"

"You haven't read the book yet?"

"No. I can't do that even I want to."

"Why?" Nicholas showed he was

"That is one thing I wanted to ask Lady Isabella. Why I can't touch the book? And I was like; it electrified me every time I attempted to hold it."

"That's new to me. I never heard a case before."

"I don't understand why either?"

"Probably because you are the main character of these books."

"Is that so?"

"Could be possible, because you have connections in the past." Nicholas' theory.

"As I reincarnated?"

"Maybe. Now, I will tell you about the very important information that I know it will shock you."

"Try me, Uncle."

Nicholas peered a measuring look at Quinn before he spoke again. "Lady Isabella, who killed your lover, Marivella."

"What?"

"But she is also the one who works hard to change everything for you and Cassandra would have a happy ending."

"Why has she to do that?" Puzzled, he asked.

"Marivella is her younger sister. Makes a long story short, she made a huge mistake since the beginning. A mistake that leads to envy... envy leads to tragedy, which causes her misery for over two hundred years.

"Wow. So it's just about Revenge and stuff? Sounds lousy."

"It does. But, can you tell it was just a lousy joke?"

Quinn keeps the silence. He cannot call it just a joke. He will if he never experiences; thus time travel thing. It was like; they were living in a modern world. A technology that far from average human capacity. Not to mention, Crow Corporation's very own ATHENA.

"Okay. Honestly, I would never believe this thing is I never— " Quinn paused then continued.

"Uncle, have you been to time travel before?"

"Yes."

"Wow. Really?" this still surprise him.

"To save your aunt Larah, I offer all my wealth: my connection, my power, and capability just to save the woman I loved so much. In exchange for her life, I trade everything I have. No magic can heal her, but using the capability Lady Isabella has; everything could be possible."

"But you know, she tricked me. To pledge under the Loyalty of Immortality, she used the cure for your aunt Larah, not knowing she aims for you."

"Me? What does that mean?"

"Like what I mentioned already, she wanted you and Cassandra to fulfil your love story. She doesn't want you to die, so she needed the cure. She wanted me to support Derek's research. She also went time travelled, to the future, and steal the formula Derek been developing. But Derek's formula never perfects because he misses one thing, and the Derek we have here; discovered what misses the other Derek."

"Lady Isabella, she only did not take, but she also left the data from ours. But as she said, it changed history. Thank you for the life that exists no longer. We enjoy more than we must have now."

"Wow. Really? This overwhelms me. Almost like, unbelievable."

"In the beginning, I think like you. But when I replaced the previous Head of the Alliance and learned about the Elders, I was astounded."

Nicholas and Quinn continued the talk, and Nicholas also revealed to Quinn the beginning of the Alliance and more happenings in the past. He learned that Bennett knows this as well, but a secret must keep.
