Wang Hu showed a look of shock; he hadn't visited the Tree Domain Camp in a while and wasn't as attuned to the changes there. But to suddenly hear that they were expanding so soon after capturing the North District was truly startling to him.

“Don't they also only have Su Han as a Third Order?”

“It's Third Grade Superior, maybe even stronger.”

Zhao Yaqian's eyes downturned as she said, “And not all Third Orders are the same, he doesn't even need to take action himself.”

“Then what about them and us…?”

Zhao Yaqian didn't continue with this question but instead said, “Officer Li will consider it. Before he could finish speaking, the urgent roar of an engine sounded, and a vehicle swiftly drove into the street, stopping not far away.

A Southern City Guard quickly got out of the car, spotted the two of them in the crowd, and hurried over.

Zhao Yaqian and Wang Hu exchanged a grave look; it was someone from the camp.

“What happened?”

“Captain Zhao, Captain Wang, Director Guo and Officer Li want you to hurry back.”

The guard was solemn, but he couldn't provide more information, clearly indicating the importance of the message that summoned them back.

“Everyone, clean up the battlefield and make defensive preparations.”

They were originally supposed to assemble to attack the next street, but now they had to shift to defense instead.

The Shadow Devouring Demon waved a large hand, placing Zhao Yaqian onto its shoulder, while Wang Hu also swiftly mounted his Angel Envoy. Then, both of them sped towards the South City camp.

By the time the two arrived, Duan Jie had just entered the camp.

With a glance, the three understood they had been urgently recalled; something important must've happened at the camp.

Without time for pleasantries, they all entered, and a waiting Southern City Guard immediately directed them to the conference room.

They strode into the office building and headed for the conference room. Upon entering, Li Ruikang, Yan Tiejun, and Guo Wutao were already seated inside, their brows slightly furrowed as they looked at a letter in front of them.

“Officer, Director Guo, Director Yan, what happened?”

“First, close the door.”

Li Ruikang instructed the three to shut the door, and as the door closed, the conference room became even quieter.

“Take a seat.”

Guo Wutao gestured for the three to sit down as everyone's gaze shifted to the peculiar letter before Li Ruikang.

Such items would not normally be found in a conference room.

“Just now, we received a letter, a request for an alliance.”

Li Ruikang handed the letter to the trio, and the expressions of Zhao Yaqian and the others subtly changed, becoming more curious.

If it was a request for union, then it surely had nothing to do with Tree Domain. But who else would want to ally with them and have such confidence?

Zhao Yaqian was the first to read the letter, which contained hardly any content, just a single line:

“To recapture South City, meet tonight at Changgang Bridge Road Flower and Bird Market. If the leader fails to come, bear the consequences.”

Her expression cooled, “Quite the audacity, so impolite. Could it be the Survivors' Camp?”

Her initial thought was the Survivors' Camp, perhaps the Survivor Camp Alliance, because she had witnessed in the East District how the alliance had gone to extreme lengths to fight over rifts to other dimensions.

Directing tens of thousands of monsters to besiege the city, regardless of the lives of their own kind, was utterly maddening.

Li Ruikang nodded slightly and said, “It's possible.”

Guo Wutao added, “The letter was delivered next to the corpses of three Second-grade Monsters, they're showing their strength, and it seems considerable.”

“What I'm more worried about is the cost they mentioned. Will they guide monsters to attack our camp?”
