My Idle Gaming System Chapter 29

The eyes of the 5th Princess were hazy as she drank from a glass of water. Her body still seemed feeble after taking the strikes of the SILVER ranked assassin, the deadliest strike on her shoulder still continuing to heal even after she received support from the Golden Sunflower.

With hazy eyes, she gazed towards Noah and the family around her as she spoke.

"The status of the 5th Ethereal Princess is that she's dead?"

"...that's the current news around Academy City, with Imperial Soldiers coming into the city for improved security."

Noah replied calmly as he recalled everything that occurred in the past night.

When the Princess had woken up to find she wasn't actually dead but everyone declared her to be, a myriad of emotions crossed her mind as tears began to fall!

She thought of her older brother sending her here, she thought of the assailants that came for her...she thought about a great deal of things as her eyes locked towards Annalise and Noah.

"I owe you two my life, and for that...I will be forever grateful!"

Her still weak body tried to rise and bow, Noah's mom- Evelyn, going towards her with worry as the 5th Imperial Princess continued, this time gazing towards everyone in the small apartment.

"I do not wish to impose upon you all for too long. If the consensus is that I am dead, then I shall remain dead! I just need a day or two to pass before I can make my way out of Academy City and disappear."

The eyes of the 5th Ethereal Princess were red as she actually did not wish to go back to the Imperial City, wanting the news of her death to stay as it was!

She wanted no more of the power struggles.

She wanted no more politics! Of the schemes of Blessed that only sought for more power and strength no matter the price!

She just...wanted peace.

"Nonsense! You won't step foot outside my door in this state. You're welcome to stay here for as long as you want!"

The voice of Noah and Annalise's mother rang out as her eyes were red with tears.

Looking at the pitiful state of the Princess. She couldn't help as her maternal instincts rang out.

"If you do not wish to return to the Imperial Capital and wish to stay hidden with your identity under wraps, what better place than an abode of a weak family in Academy City? Please, don't feel like you're a burden."

Evelyn's voice continued to ring out as she held onto the head of the weak Princess. At this scene where she felt like she had nobody, this Princess couldn't help but break down crying as she seemed like any normal girl!

Noah glanced at his father as the two of them looked at each other while communicating with their eyes, each of them letting out sighs in their minds as Annalise joined her mother in comforting the 5th Princess- Rose.

When the tearful session neared its end, Noah couldn't help himself anymore as he asked an obvious question that plagued the minds of many.

"Why would anyone be bold enough to attack you? All the stories I've heard from the Imperial Capital are about how the Will of the Ethereal Emperor reigns Supreme across the three Continents, that his influence stretches across all regions...who would be bold enough to send assassin's towards you?"

His question caused angry glares from his mom and Annalise, but he didn't care as he locked his eyes with the girl he saved!

She looked towards him as her blue eyes glimmered with light, her decision being made in seconds as she thought of the secret that only the upper echelons of the Imperial Capital knew for the last years. For assassins to be sent towards her so boldly...this secret must be out! So she steeled her heart as she released shocking words that Noah nor anyone else in the apartment expected to hear.

"My father...the Ethereal Emperor...has long since perished."

RUMBLE!

"The undefiable Will that he established...his influence over the Ethereal Realm as he boasted absolute power...this Will can no longer be upheld!"

The faces of the four changed drastically at this as Noah's face turned sour.

What was this?!

The Ethereal Realm he thought was peaceful under the Rule of a powerful Emperor...actually wasn't so the being in question was actually dead!

Too many questions swam in his mind as he selfishly wondered how all of this would affect his Idling life!

"It was a secret that was held closely among my family for the past years, but the actions taken against me means the news must be out, and the subjugated Kings from the other Regions might be making a move."

Alarm filled the eyes of everyone listening as silence descended, with Noah's voice being the one to ring out again.

"Why? Why start conflict even if the...Ethereal Emperor had passed?"

He worded his question carefully as Rose wiped away her tears and gave a tired smile, her voice ringing out as she dropped another bombshell in the minds of these average beings.

"They aim for the Imperial Capital that has lost its strongest defender because there, the highest Tier Dimensional Rift in this Ethereal Realm exists."

"The DIAMOND Rank Dimensional Rift that my father delved in and obtained treasures that allowed him to even rise beyond that level and step into the PLATINUM Rank...the Kings from other regions want the treasures within that Rift to increase their own power."

RUMBLE!

Shocking revelations came out as Noah felt his mind being expanded, a much truer picture about the new Realm he found himself in being painted!

In the end, it all came down to power and benefits!

In the past, the Ethereal Emperor had delved into a stupendous Dimensional Rift as he risked his life to obtain invaluable rewards, his strength rising as he became the Peak expert within this Realm.

With his inexplicable death, others wanted this same Dimensional Rift as in the coming future, blood would flow like rivers while they aimed for this treasure!
