Rong Yan frowned and thought for a while, indeed she couldn't recall knowing anyone like that. She tossed her laptop aside and whispered, “I wonder if Little Baby went to sleep obediently…”

Rong Yan tiptoed over to open the door, the little one on the bed was already asleep, his beautiful face looking just like a little angel's, making her heart incredibly soft!

She gently leaned down, gave the sleeping little guy a kiss on the forehead, tucked him in, and then quietly walked out of the room.
When she came out again, the living room, though brightly lit, was still silent, not a soul in sight.
She lifted her wrist to check the time on her phone—it was almost eleven o'clock.
Li Shengxiao had not returned yet.
She walked over and sat down on the sofa, poured herself a glass of water, and hesitated for a moment before calling Gu Ming.
The phone rang seven or eight times, almost hanging up automatically before the person on the other end hurriedly picked up, “Hello?”
It sounded like someone was talking to him at his side; Rong Yan heard him lower his voice to stop the person, “Wait until I finish the call, go ahead and take the documents to the legal department to handle.”
He gave a few more instructions to the person on his side before asking Rong Yan, “Miss Rong, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. Something came up.”
“It's okay.”
Gu Ming continued, “Did you need something from me?”
Rong Yan, sensing his busyness, hesitated not knowing if she should ask, “It's nothing major… it's just that Li Shengxiao hasn't come home yet, and I guess he's still at the office. So I called to check with you. Are you guys really busy today? How long might he be tied up?”
“It's hard to say. Maybe past midnight, possibly even later.” He didn't mention that Li Shengxiao had ordered an all-nighter for everyone tonight.
“Miss Rong, are you still waiting for Mr. Li to come home?”
“Uh.” She was embarrassed to admit it and changed the subject, “How late exactly? One o'clock? Two?”
Gu Ming, “It could be later than two in the morning. There's some unexpected situation at the company requiring overtime work, and we probably won't leave until it's resolved.”
Rong Yan understood, meaning if it gets done at one, he comes back at one. If not resolved overnight, then all-night work and continue the next day until it's resolved!
“Okay, I just called to check, now I know. I won't disturb your overtime, you go ahead and be busy.”
As Rong Yan was about to hang up, Gu Ming suddenly hesitated and stopped her, “Um, Miss Rong.”
“Yes, what is it?” Rong Yan paused her movements.
Gu Ming fumblingly said, “Mr. Li has been working since this morning, only had a few cups of coffee and refuses to take time to eat. It's late evening now, I'm worried he'll work himself sick. But I can't really persuade him, Mr. Li won't listen to me. He only listens to Miss Rong, could you possibly order some takeout for Mr. Li?”
“He hasn't eaten all day?” Rong Yan gasped, even knowing it was because of work, she was quite upset. She quickly calmed down, slipped on her slippers, walked to the kitchen, checked the fridge, then replied to Gu Ming, “I understand, I'll make sure he eats something, give me a moment.”
