My Bothersome Life Chapter 18

"Nothing!" I answered quickly .

I quickly took a step back for every step that Luke took towards me . Unfortunately, I encountered a deadline few steps later as Luke was looking at me intensely to try to find 'something' I was hiding .

All of the sudden, Luke grabbed my shoulders to start shaking my body front and back . Alas, my book fell out of shirt, however my secret stash of junk food was taped to the inside of my shirt so it didn't fall out . "What's this?" Luke asked .

Advertisement"The 'book' I bought at the bookstore today . " I replied back while wincing .

Luke picked up the book, "Is this 'thing' the reason you're not eating dinner?"

I ran towards the tray of food on the table and grabbed a fork to start eating, "No, I'll eat the dinner that you brought me now . "

I wasn't that hungry, but oh well . Luke looked kind of scary right now so I didn't have a choice .

I started to eat some egg salad while Luke went to sit on the couch to look at the 'book' more closely . Occasionally, Luke's eyes widened up when he found something interesting or fascinating and unfortunately this was 'one of those times' . He probably never picked up a 'book' like manga before because he grew up in a sheltered family in the first district .

After I finished stuffing some more food into my mouth, I asked, "Can I have my 'book' back now?"

"This is a very unique 'book' I'll be confiscating for now . Please finish the rest of the food to -"

"I'm not hungry anymore, I can't eat more than this! Plus, I want to go back home now . I'm pretty sure I learned my lesson now, so I think you can stop with the lecturing . " I interrupted Luke to whine .

"I'm sorry that I ran off on my own and I promise from now on I'll stick with you if we ever go out . " I said while sulking .

I was never ever going to go out with Luke in my holiday again! More like I was never going to even try to meet him in my precious break time!

Luke came to pat my head and sighed . "I'll let you go back home today because I think you have figured out what you have done wrong . However, I'm still going to take that book . "

As long as I got to go home I was fine . I was curious to read the other half of that 'book', however I could probably go to the library tomorrow to read some more manga now that I knew they existed in this world . So I just nodded in return .

We eventually walked back to the teleportation gate and I soon found myself back in my bedroom with my bags placed in front of my bed .

I jumped into my fluffy bed with my tired body to fall asleep almost instantly . Ahh . Today was an eventful day wasn't it?

I was never bringing Luke anywhere with me if possible anymore~ .
