Chapter 1929: Chapter 1929: Pavilion Master's News_1 Chapter 1929: Chapter 1929: Pavilion Master's News_1 Seeing that Ethan Smith remained silent, Marc Fraley didn't continue asking questions.
He sighed, “I really want to see who among you two chaotic bodies will achieve higher in the future.”
Hearing this, Ethan couldn't help but mock himself, “How can I be compared to the Younger Holy Lord Wilson? You're really overestimating me.”
“Really?” Marc raised an eyebrow, then said, “Back on Earth, our Fraley family wasn't something you could provoke either. But in the end, what happened? We were destroyed at your hands after painstakingly building our family for many years.”
Ethan stayed silent, as he couldn't figure out Marc's intentions and naturally didn't dare say more. The more he said, the more likely he was to make a mistake.
Marc chuckled, “That's all in the past. I have long stopped caring about it. So, what are your plans?”
“Nothing, I'll just take it one step at a time.” Ethan replied casually.
“How about this? Stay in Serene South City.” Marc suggested with a smile.
“This city may not be huge, but it's considered an important frontier for the Wilson family and holds great prospects for future development.”
Ethan suddenly realized why he felt several powerful auras in Serene South City.
“Forget it, I'm used to being alone and free.” Ethan waved his hand.
Marc laughed, “Alright, I won't force you. Let's do this. You stay in Serene South City for now, and I'll send someone to mine the ores. We'll split the loot later.”
“Alright.” Ethan agreed by nodding.
Later, Marc arranged a luxurious residence for Ethan. It was surrounded by mountains and rivers, and not too far from the palace in Serene South City.
After Ethan left, the general-in-chief entered.
Standing beside Marc, he said with cupped hands, “My lord, I never expected you to run into an old acquaintance.”
With an emotionless expression, Marc replied, “Yeah, I didn't expect to meet him so soon either. The Holy Region is too small.”
Compared to the vast universe, the Holy Region is indeed very small,” the general-in-chief agreed.
Shifting the topic, he continued, “My lord, you're so open-minded and magnanimous. He destroyed your cultivation, yet you can laugh off past grievances.”
Upon hearing this, Marc's expression turned cold.
With a wave of his hand, he slapped the general-in-chief across the face and cursed, “Laugh off past grievances? I laugh off your mother! Every day for all these years, I've been wishing I could tear him apart and scatter his ashes! If it weren't for him, I would still be the high and mighty young master of the Fraley family!”
The general-in-chief was stunned, touching his face, he frowned, “Then why…?”
Marc snorted coldly, “I simply can't make a move against him yet. He's full of cunning schemes, and no one knows how many cards he has up his sleeve.”
“My lord, aren't you overthinking? This is Serene South City, and you are part of the Wilson family. What do his hidden cards matter?” The general-in-chief bitter smiled.
Marc replied coldly, “I used to think like you, but unfortunately, not only did I fail to eliminate him, I unintentionally spurred his growth. It's always better to be cautious in everything. Who knows, one day, a lion fighting a rabbit might just succeed.”
It must be said that Marc had indeed grown a lot over the years. He was no longer the rash and arrogant young man he used to be.
“My lord, I understand. What do you want me to do?” The general-in-chief asked.
Marc sneered, “This kid and Emily Taylor are lovers. I've been trying to get information from him, but he just doesn't fall for it. It seems he still doesn't trust me.”
“What?! He and the Holy Woman of the Taylor family are lovers?!” The general-in-chief was completely baffled.
Marc leaned back with his hands behind him, snorting, “That's right. Once I tell Younger Holy Lord Wilson about this, he won't be able to escape. Let him stay in Serene South City for a few days, treating him well with delicious food and great care. Don't offend him at all costs.”
“I understand.” The general-in-chief nodded in agreement.
On the south side of the Serene South City palace, there was a house suspended above water.
At this moment, Ethan Smith was standing at the railing, gazing at the flowing water with furrowed brows.
“What game is this Marc Fraley playing?” Ethan murmured to himself.
Knowing Marc, he definitely isn't the kind of person to laugh off past grievances.
“No matter what he's planning, I need to find an opportunity to leave this place as soon as possible,” Ethan thought to himself.
He extended his divine sense to cover the surroundings and found that Marc hadn't arranged for anyone to keep an eye on him nearby.
This surprised Ethan slightly.
Could it be that Marc had really changed and started thinking about their past friendship? That would be utterly unbelievable!
Everyone knew that the Marc of the past was ruthless and had killed countless people!
“If I slip away now, Marc probably won't notice,” Ethan thought.
Upon further consideration, however, Ethan decided to wait since the temptation of the ores was simply too great.
At the same time, this incident served as a wake-up call to Ethan.
Being a rogue cultivator while attempting to mine treasures wasn't a good idea. Even if he had dug up something valuable, it would still be snatched away by others.
“If only I had brought Williams Saintess along,” Ethan thought to himself.
He didn't dwell on it any longer and sat down cross-legged, beginning to meditate.
This was also a form of cultivation, a cultivation of one's state of mind. Although it wouldn't show immediate effects, it held the potential to significantly change the entire course of cultivation.
Over the next few days, Marc brought delicious food and fine wine to Ethan every day. Not only that, but he even gave Ethan several precious pills.
One day, Marc arrived at Ethan's residence with a brocade box and two bottles of wine in hand.
He handed the brocade box to Ethan and laughed, “I remember you are an alchemist… Oh no, here it should be Pill master. This pill shouldn't be unfamiliar to you.”
Ethan opened the box and immediately recognized the origin of the pill.
“Heavenly Astral Spirit Pill?” Ethan looked at the pill in front of him, baffled.
“Exactly! As expected of a pill master, your eyes are sharp!” Marc praised with a nod.
Ethan exclaimed, “The Heavenly Astral Spirit Pill is a top-notch pill with incredible benefits for divine sense. You-”
“I'm giving it to you,” Marc interrupted generously, waving his hand.
“Really?” Ethan was even more confused.
Marc faintly smiled, “It's just two pills, not worth mentioning. But speaking of this pill, you shouldn't be able to refine it, right?”
“With my abilities, there's no way I can refine such a high-grade pill.” Ethan shook his head.
Marc changed the subject, gazing at Ethan with a faint smile, “Do you know who made this pill?”
“Who?” Ethan asked, puzzled.
Marc mysteriously said, “The Lord of Medicine God Pavilion, your old friend.”
“What?! The Pavilion Master?” Upon hearing this, Ethan quickly stood up in shock.
