Chapter 1615: Chapter 1615: Tai Chi, Finally, We Meet! Chapter 1615: Chapter 1615: Tai Chi, Finally, We Meet! Leroy Rhodes saw himself as a negotiator, and was utterly confident in this role.
He strode towards the back mountain, heading towards Eternal City.
“Mr. Eternal,” Leroy Rhodes greeted, with a slight bow.
Surprised, Mr. Eternal was taken aback. Until now, Leroy was the only person who had greeted him.
“Yes?” Mr. Eternal raised an eyebrow.
“Mr. Eternal, the fact that you've expressed interest in negotiating a peace accord with us, the Southern Province, shows that you don't want to prolong this battle any further. Or perhaps, you still have a fondness for the Southern Province.” Leroy said, smiling.
At this suggestion, Mr. Eternal almost burst into laughter.
Fond of the Southern Province? Had this man lost his mind?
Mr. Eternal remained silent, indicating for him to continue.
“First of all, let me express my gratitude towards you. Secondly, I hope that you can persuade North Plain to end this brutal struggle. I believe that anything can be resolved through negotiation,” Leroy said, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Mr. Eternal's eyes moved around, before asking, “Who do you think would win between North Plain and the Southern Province?”
“Well…that's hard to say, considering the undeniable power of the Leader of the Cloud Sect,” Leroy answered.
Mention of the sect master made Mr. Eternal's expression somewhat unnatural.
He continued to question, “Have you met with the sect master during your time in the Cloud Sect?”
Leroy shook his head. “I've not yet had the opportunity.”
Mr. Eternal felt a surge of elation, reinforcing his beliefs.
The Leader of Cloud Sect never returned!
“I hope that Mr. Eternal can act as the bridge between the Southern Province and North Plain, ending this war,” Leroy continued unhindered.
Nevertheless, deep within his heart, Mr. Eternal sneered.
He eyed Leroy in front of him, speaking lightly, “Alright, I will give you an answer.”
“Thank you, Mr. Eternal!” Leroy hastily bowed, a smile of triumph shown on his face.
He had mistakenly thought that he'd managed to convince Mr. Eternal using his negotiation skills.
Little did he know, the idea of murder had already seeded in the depths of Mr. Eternal's heart.
Once back in the bustling crowd, the surrounding people quickly closed in.
“How did it go? What did Mr. Eternal say?” The people by his side could hardly wait to ask.
Leroy casually responded, “Of course, there's no problem. Mr. Eternal promised that he would act as the cordial bridge between the Southern Province and North Plain.”
“Can this be true?” The people around him displayed visible shock.
“Absolutely true, he confirmed it himself!” Leroy announced, brimming with pride.
“Mr. Eternal is notoriously unreliable, we should proceed with caution,” one person voiced his concerns.
Upon hearing these words, Leroy became visibly upset. “What do you mean by that? Do you not trust me? I'm Leroy Rhodes, a well-known negotiator from the Southern Province!”
“It's not that we don't trust you, but that we don't trust Mr. Eternal. Hopefully, he does what he says,” someone beside them sighed.
Leroy snorted, “Do you guys know why Mr. Eternal chose Eternal City as the meeting location? It proves that he still cares for our Southern Province. Therefore, there's no need to worry!”
With Leroy's reassurances, the crowd finally seemed to be put somewhat at ease.
Slowly but steadily, more and more people began to arrive, many of the mighty realm cultivators who had hidden away for years were also present.
These were rare appearances; some rumors had even circulated that they had passed away. But their presence today only emphasized the importance of this gathering.
Mr. Eternal sat on the throne, eyes slightly closed, as if waiting for something.
Time ticked away, and finally, the forces of the Cloud Sect arrived.
At this point, under the cue of Kingsley Kelley, the eighteen immortals once again masqueraded as the Leader of the Cloud Sect.
Upon seeing this “sect master”, many arrivals paid their respects and greeted him.
“Greetings to the Leader of the Sect!” someone bowed and addressed him.
“Oh illustrious Leader, your recent battle was truly unprecedented. With merely a Divine Stone, you've managed to behead one of North Plain's Godly King. It's truly admirable,” another one chimed in.
However, this supposed sect master didn't utter a word, maintaining an unsettling silence.
Worried that their cover might be blown, Kingsley Kelley quickly placed the eighteen immortals somewhere to sit down.
Above the throne, Mr. Eternal's brows were deeply creased.
Although he knew the person before him was an imposter posing as the sect master, he was still frightened.
“It's only a fake, there's nothing to fear!” Mr. Eternal desperately tried to convince himself.
He then closed his eyes slightly, deciding to ignore the fake sect master entirely.
In a blink of an eye, it was already noon; almost everyone that was supposed to arrive had made it.
“The Leader of the Cloud Sect is requested for a reunion.”
Mr. Eternal swallowed his fear and hollered in the direction of the eighteen immortals.
But the eighteen immortals didn't react, maintaining their silence, not giving any indication that they had heard him.
“The Leader of the Cloud Sect, kindly step forward, we need to discuss important matters concerning the Southern Province and North Plain,” Mr. Eternal hollered again.
The eighteen immortals still sat there, unmoving.
Tensing up, Kingsley Kelley at the side quickly stood up, saying, “Mr. Eternal, as mentioned before, our sect leader is not well and cannot talk or negotiate at the moment. If there's anything, I can represent him.”
Upon seeing this, Mr. Eternal couldn't help but scoff in private.
“You think you can trick me twice?” Mr. Eternal thought, smirking inside.
So, he ignored Kingsley Kelley, directing his third call to the eighteen immortals, “The Leader of the Cloud Sect, kindly step forward for a discussion!”
Suddenly, the eighteen immortals stood up abruptly!
The unexpected action startled Mr. Eternal, making him shiver.
He took a reflexive two steps back, his face drenched in sweat.
However, the eighteen immortals stood up only to dust off their bottom, and then sat down again.
Seeing this, Mr. Eternal shivered uncontrollably.
Considering his previous panic, he wished he could slap himself!
Mr. Eternal repressed his anger, saying coldly, “The Sect Master, please step forward.”
“Can't you understand human speech? You've been barking non-stop. What are you barking at?”
Then, a voice sounded from the distance.
Before anyone could respond, they saw a gigantic Divine Eagle circling the sky!
The Divine Eagle flapped its wings, causing a wild wind to blow.
Ethan Smith and Randall Freeman leapt down from its back, landing in the center of the gathering.
His eyes were locked onto Mr. Eternal's direction as he smirked, “Well, Mr. Eternal, are you representing the North Plain today? What right do you have to bark orders here?”
“Ethan Smith!”
Upon seeing Ethan in front of him, Mr. Eternal instantly lost his composure.
He suddenly stood up from the throne, his eyes burning with hatred towards Ethan, wishing he could tear him apart.
“What, surprised to see me?” Ethan sneered.
Mr. Eternal squinted, grumbling, “So, you finally decided to show yourself, not being a cowardly turtle anymore?”
“Shut your dog's mouth. Look at you, you were born to serve others. And you want to replace the Cloud Sect? See if you have the life for it,” Randall Freeman retaliated from the side.
His comments undoubtedly hit a sore spot for Mr. Eternal. It had always been his life's ambition to replace the Cloud Sect and become the ruler! Sadly, whether it was in the Southern Province or in North Plain, he had always been second best!
