Chapter 1536: Chapter 1536: Battle with Cloud Sect! Chapter 1536: Chapter 1536: Battle with Cloud Sect! Ethan Smith didn't want to wait for a minute longer for the Cloud Sect.
After reaching the Mighty Realm, Ethan Smith's power had soared greatly. Even people like Simon Ingram, who dared to provoke the three lunatics and the three extremes, posed no threat to him, let alone the First Elder, the Deputy Sect Master and others.
“In such a hurry?” Alfred and Clay Freeman instantly sobered up.
Ethan Smith responded, saying, “Wait for me at Nexinton Mountain, it would be best if you don't go anywhere and when I'm finished, I'll be back.”
“Alright, just be careful.”
Alfred and Clay knew they couldn't offer much help so they didn't waste words.
After bidding farewell to the Freeman brothers, Ethan Smith summoned the Divine Eagle and headed straight for the Cloud Sect.
At this point, the Cloud Sect had already endured numerous waves of great battles.
Even with the help from the North Plain, Eternal was still struggling to take down the Cloud Sect.
For the time being, they hit a stalemate, Eternal fighting the eighteen immortals, with no clear winner, whilst the people from North Plain battled against the Deputy Sect Master and the First Elder.
Add to this the endless magic weapons of the Cloud Sect, they were simply unable to conquer the Cloud Sect.
After several days of fighting, they could not move forward an inch.
The crowd hiding in the shadows did not take any action either.
They did not wish to take any risks until a definite winner emerged.
In the meeting room of the Cloud Sect, a group was in discussion.
“As long as we hold on until the sect master emerges from his seclusion, everything can be ended,” declared the Deputy Sect Master.
The First Elder spoke with clear displeasure, “We never should've let you act as the placeholder for this position, or else we would not have decayed to this extent.”
The Deputy Sect Master glanced at the First Elder and retorted, “If we had followed your idea, the Cloud Sect would probably have been decried and insulted.”
“So what?” The First Elder's face became even colder.
The Deputy Sect Master opened his mouth, wanting to say something. But he knew that now was not the time to argue, so he refrained from speaking further.
“Eternal is here again!”
At that moment, someone rushed in to report.
The Deputy Sect Master immediately stood up, stating coldly, “Then let's fight. I believe that in no time, the sect master will be out of seclusion.”
The group left the meeting room, once again, to face Eternal and the people of North Plain!
“Eternal, you can't conquer the Cloud Sect, why are you insisting so bitterly!” The First Elder shouted, looking up at Eternal.
By this time, Eternal had torn off his facade. He coldly looked at the First Elder and said, “If I can't conquer the Cloud Sect, as soon as the sect master comes out of seclusion, the one to die would be me.”
“Eternal, if you leave now, I guarantee that the Cloud Sect won't bother you in the future,” offered the Deputy Sect Master.
Eternal scoffed, “Don't say such delusional words, even you don't believe in them. Regardless, you all are going to die today!”
“Then let's fight, without further ado!” roared the Deputy Sect Master.
They still used the same strategy, the combined eighteen immortals fought against Eternal, while the Deputy Sect Master and the First Elder battled against the people from North Plain.
This was Eternal's eighth attack, but still there was no tangible progress.
“The Cloud Sect is indeed in-name-and-in-truth not surrendering. Even with both Eternal and the people of North Plain, it's still a hard fight.”
“Correct, consider that the Cloud Sect's Master has yet to make a move. Otherwise, I fear Eternal would fall into a hopeless defeat.”
“Shouldn't we aid them? If we defend the Cloud Sect now, we will be favored by the Cloud Sect in the future.”
“No, this great war has too many variables. Unless the Cloud Sect show signs of defeat, we must not act rashly.”
The sky was filled with shining light beams, everything here was almost turned into dust, such a sweeping battle was rarely witnessed in eternity.
Eternal, being one of the three extremes, naturally had an impressive strength, but the power of the eighteen immortals was also immense. Even Eternal couldn't find any flaws to exploit.
“Damn it, If this continues, the Cloud Sect's Master will actually come out of seclusion,” Eternal remarked whilst fighting and retreating simultaneously, ceaselessly looking for vulnerabilities in the eighteen immortals.
He had initially thought this would be a crushing battle but was now finding it hard to fight.
He looked at North Plain, his face turning even grimmer.
The people sent by North Plain this time were indeed strong, but drastically below expectations.
If Simon Ingram had made a move, there might have been a chance. Regrettably, Simon hadn't come!
The battle prolonged from dawn till dusk, and from dusk to dawn again.
Countless of the Cloud Sect had died or were injured; the rivers were stained red with blood.
Even the Deputy Sect Master and the others had sustained various injuries.
They relied on the secret treasures of the Cloud Sect to hold on, making Cloud Sect practically impregnable.
In the depth of the Cloud Sect, occasional brilliance shot up into the sky, every beam of light powerful enough to injure a master like Eternal!
This was equally a defense formation of the Cloud Sect, shaking people to the core.
“Eternal, you can't win if you keep fighting like this. In no time, the other experts from my Cloud Sect will be back. By then, it'll be too late for you all to retreat!” the Deputy Sect Master bellowed.
Eternal's face grew even more unsightly. He was now in a predicament and couldn't retreat.
“Can't North Plain send more men over!” Eternal looked at the leader from North Plain.
The leader, cloaked in black, said in a low voice, “Lord Simon Ingram mentioned that he would haste to the battlefield.”
“Are you all fooling me? Where is he!” Eternal struggled to repress his anger and spoke.
“I don't know either. Lord Simon Ingram really promised to come to the battlefield,” the man leading the North Plain team replied.
He was a trusted aide of Simon Ingram. Named Malvin Larson, he was a first-rate general under Ingram. Although his strength was not as great as Simon Ingram's, he was very powerful nonetheless.
Eternal deeply inhaled and said, “If Simon Ingram doesn't come, we may not be able to conquer the Cloud Sect.”
“Let's hold out. As long as Lord Ingram arrives, the Cloud Sect is ours for the taking,” Malvin Larson stated.
“By the time he comes, the Leader of the Cloud Sect may have already emerged from seclusion,” Eternal gritted his teeth and uttered.
As he spoke, a myriad of beams of light were already closing in on Eternal.
Eternal had no time to react and was forced to step back several paces.
The eighteen immortals before him seemed like an unbeatable War God, without a single flaw to exploit.
“Eternal, you can't subjugate the Cloud Sect!” stated the Deputy Sect Master coldly.
The First Elder went further, “The Cloud Sect is not something you and the rest can stain.”
The spectators watching heaved a collective sigh of relief.
“It seems unlikely that we'll see the Cloud Sect destroyed.”
“True, I think now we can step forward to lend a helping hand to the Cloud Sect.”
“Sigh, maybe.”
Just as everyone considered intervening, someone shouted, “Look, someone's coming from afar!”
Everyone's gaze immediately turned to the distance.
In the near distance, another colossal Divine Eagle was flying in the wind.
A young man stood on the enormous head of the Divine Eagle.
The young man crossed his arms over his chest; his handsome face bore a trace of coldness and killing intention.
