After the music stopped. The guests clapped as they parted.

Ru Shi blushed.

Mu Chang held her hand as he took her to the podium. He turned to the reporter who asked if the wonderful woman is Miss Qin.

"Well, you wanted to know the wonderful woman I was talking about. This is her Ru Shi."

The reporters looked at each and whispered.

One of them who was bold enough asked

"So Mr Li, does this means that you're not any longer together with Miss Qin?"

Mu Chang looked at the reporter

"Yes. The moment she left without contacting me two years ago, she was no longer my fiancé."

The guests whispered when they heard him.

Who would've thought that the Qin Jieli was the one who left Li Mu Chang?

Who in their right mind will leave such a doting man without contacting him?

They all saw how much he loved her.

The guests turned to look at Qin Jieli with disdain on their face.

The women who've always hated her because of Mu Chang's doting smirked as they stared at her.

Qin Jieli clenched her jaws and gritted her teeth to prevent her from lashing out at anybody.

She knows she can't lose her cool. She has to maintain the image she has.

"But Mr Li, isn't she the fallen Miss of Ru group and the ex-fiancé of Feng Lu?"

One of the guests asked.

Mu Chang felt Ru Shi tensed when she heard the question.

He gently squeezed her hand as if to reassure her that he's right here beside her. She shouldn't be afraid. They looked at each other as they smiled softly.

Qin Jieli bit her lips as she looked at them smiling softly at each other.

"Yes. Any problem?"

He asked coldly as he looked at the man who asked the question.

The man shivered from the deadly glare. Mu Chang gave him.

He shutters as he speaks,

"No..not at all... Mr Li."

Mu Chang looked at the reporters

"Any questions?"

The reporters looked at each other

"No, no"

Mu Chang pulled Ru Shi closer to him as he hugged her sideways

"Well, meet the future, Mrs Li. From now onwards if you see her know that she belongs to me.

If you hurt even a single strand of her hair, you've hurt me."

He paused as he coldly scanned the people. He coldly glared at Qin Jieli as he continued.

"Everybody knows what happens if someone hurts someone whom I hold dear."

Mu Chang looked at Ru Shi.

"I love you. From this day onwards with everyone as my witness. I promise to hold you, to love you and cherish you.

I promise not to lie to you again. I won't be a jerk and think about myself in this relationship.

It doesn't matter if you don't have a family. I'm now your family. I'll protect and give you security.

You know I have a low EQ when it comes to this relationship stuff and I might make mistakes but I hope we can work this out.

If I mess up and you want to punish me. I don't mind letting you spank me."

"You.."

Ru Shi blushed as she laughed.

She blinks away those tears that were threatening to come.

"Hmmm, you should laugh always. You look ugly when you cry."

Ru Shi glared at him.

Mu Chang smiled.

"You know the battles ahead are difficult right? I've many enemies and you might be in danger but I'll always protect you. Some people might try to intimidate you or bully you. But remember only you can bully others."

He paused as he stared at her.

"I don't know if you're ready to go on this journey with me. Are you willing to be my girlfriend?"

Mu Chang stared nervously at her as Ru Shi was looking at the ground. He fidgeted as he waited for her reply.

Everyone held their breath as they waited for her response.

This is the first time that the cold CEO has publicly asked a girl out. So everyone was anticipating her answer.

A few seconds passed by. But for Mu Chang, it seemed like years.

"Kit..."

Ru Shi looked at him. Her face was now wet with tears.

This is the nicest thing anyone has said to her since her parents died.

"You why are you crying."

Mu Chang felt distressed. He wanted to make her feel secure not to make her cry!.

"I'm sorry..."

"Yes."

Ru Shi interrupted him.

Mu Chang froze when he heard her.

Even though he was anticipating her answer but hearing it from her made him surprised.

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend. I'll never let go of you. Unless you do."

Ru Shi looked at Mu Chang who was speechless.

She playfully hit him

"Silly, say something."

The guests laughed as they watched their interactions.

"Well, I have to make sure that I'm not dreaming!!"

Mu Chang laughed as he swept her into his arms, hands clasped tightly on her lower back, she flung her arms around his neck and pressed her forehead against his and gazed lovingly into his eyes. He spun her in the air as he shouted.

"You really accepted!"

Ru Shi laughed

"Hmm, I did stupid. I love you too."

He put her on the ground and traced his fingers on her face. He pulled her closer and gently kissed the tears on her face. She felt him smile against her lips as he kissed her and the world fell away. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below her ear, his thumb caressing her cheek as their breaths mingled.

Her heart fluttered and she kissed him back, cherishing the moment and Mu Chang. His lips are soft and warm. He puts his hand on the back of her head, pulling her closer to him.

After they parted, they gazed at each other and smiled softly.

"Well, who would have thought that lover boy will do something like this at an official business gathering with so many businessmen here."

Zhang Wei chuckled as he looked at them.

"Hmm, I never knew Li Mu Chang can be this romantic! Too bad Leng Yan isn't here!"

Wang Lu said.

Liang Shao looked at Shen Ruyi who has been quiet.

Shen Ruyi looked up and saw him looking at her.

She smiled softly but didn't say anything.

She didn't know whether she should be angry at Ru Shi for not telling her or she should be happy for her.

She sighed.
