Shen Ruyi looked at her friend sitting in front of her. She has changed a lot ever since she came back from Paris, no, ever since her parents died, she doesn't know what she experienced when she left the country. She remembered when they were kids, she was the most cheerful one among them. She was very optimistic about everything.

When she was 10 years old, her family left to build their company in the states. She has no idea that Ru Shi was in trouble if she had known she would've come earlier. By the time she came back, all she saw was a new Ru Shi, her eyes were empty, she didn't have her usual cheerful side she was like a lost puppy.

She remembered when she told her that she would help her, Ru Shi laughed sadly and said:

"Shen Ruyi in this world you can't depend on anyone but yourself. Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way." The little girl who was so optimistic about everything had built her walls so high that no one could climb it. She didn't care about the ridicule of anyone or their bullying.

Until Feng Lu came. At first, they all had thought he was just playing with her since when they used to play as kids, he would always tease her but he proved them wrong, at least they thought so. Who'd have thought that the guy had a mask on?

"It's been two weeks since you came back what're your plans? Now that you've broken your marriage with Feng Lu." Shen Ruyi asked her friend.

"I don't really know, I was supposed to work at the Feng group after graduating but now, I guess I've to look for a job elsewhere," she sighed.

Ru Shi had everything planned out after graduating she would work at the Feng group to support Feng Lu. In order to support him, she studied so hard but now she had no idea what to do.

"Well, I can help you find a job at Li corps my cousin is the CEO there".

Li corps? That's the rival of the Feng group. It's rumored that the CEO was very ruthless and cold until he fell in love, but no one knew why his fiancé left him two years ago. Since she left, he became a working machine working nonstop in order to make the company stand on top.

No one has ever seen him before since he doesn't grant interviews.

"That man is your cousin?" Ru Shi stared at her friend with you better explain it look.

Shen Ruyi shrugged, "yeah, he's not that bad you know, and he's really handsome. Now that the witch has left him, I can hook you up you know," she winked at Ru Shi.

Ru Shi shook her head staring at her friend.

"Oh, I forgot you still thinking about the mystery man. The guy is mysterious, I even checked the hotel that you went to, but it is like he wasn't even there. The CCTV camera had you in it but anytime you're with him it is like someone had completely cleared his existence."

Ru Shi's body stiffened when she heard her. Even though she wanted to forget about him, she couldn't, anytime she closed her eyes all she would see is his touch, his smile, his lips. It's like she is addicted to him and every second that she can't see him is torture for her.

"You… you did what? You looked for him?"

"Xiao Ru, even though you try to act like you're fine, I know you aren't. You're always looking at your phone with anticipation, I felt bad, so I went to look for him."

"OH, and you didn't find him?" Ru Shi asked dully.

"No, someone who could wipe his existence is no ordinary person..."

Just as Shen Ruyi was about to continue her phone rang.

"Mom," she answered the phone.

"He's awake? Oh, ok I'll be there, bye."

Ru Shi could see the relief in her eyes after hanging up the call.

"I've to go, my cousin woke up."

"Why he was sick? Why didn't anyone hear about it? After all, he's a legend in this country."

"Well, they blocked the news," she said as she took her bag preparing to leave.

"Well, think about my offer, he's really hot!" Shen Ruyi winked at her as she left the cafe.

Ru Shi stared at the back of her friend in a daze.

" Mu Chang, who're you?" She whispered sadly.

The moment she turned she saw someone sitting at the place where Shen Ruyi was sitting.

"Xiao Ru, how long are you going to hide from this old man?"

Grandpa Feng scolded her, but one could hear the care and love in his voice.

"Grandpa sorry, I've been busy with work." She said embarrassingly.

"Mm, I can see and what're you doing sitting in a daze? You didn't even see me when I came to sit here."

"Aah...? Nothing," Ru Shi said avoiding his eyes.

Grandpa Feng looked at the little girl in front of him. She looked a lot like her mother, he wanted her mother to be his daughter-in-law since the woman has the brain and wit to manage a business. He remembered how that woman helped Ru Chang to build his empire from scratch at that time she was just a secretary from a poor home. Unfortunately, his stupid son couldn't even properly court a woman. That's why he let his grandson court her daughter threatening him with his heritance. But that stupid boy had to cheat on her and worse he got caught. He knew that she had a high IQ just like her mother and someone like that would help their business grow then maybe they could compete with Li corps. He sighs.

"Grandpa is there a reason why you're looking for me?"

"Yeah, why did you send the key to the apartment that I gave you? Don't you like grandpa anymore?"

Ru Shi softened when she heard him. For the man who had always supported and believed in her, she really liked him.

"No, grandpa I want to be independent from now on. Don't worry I've rented a new place it's really good."

He knew that once she had made up her mind no one could change it.

"Ok, I would be throwing a custom party in three days time, I want you to attend and I won't take no for an answer." Ru Shi didn't see the calculative scheme in the old man's eyes.

"Ok, I will come." After all, it is just a party." She had no idea what the Feng people said to people about the canceled wedding but once she came back no one asked her about anything.

"Good, here is your invitation don't forget to dress up." Grandpa Feng kissed her cheeks as he left.
