Ru Shi went back to her bedroom, took a shower and put on her pajamas. She sat on the bed, leaning against the bed she sighed.

A lot of things have happened these past few days. She was a bit tired and felt inexplicably complicated.

She realized that when she was facing Feng Lu, apart from indifference, she didn't feel anything else. She thought maybe when she sees him again, she might lose control or even cry, but she felt numb. It is because of Mu Chang? Is it because she doesn't like him anymore? She knows that she can't hate Feng Lu, even though he cheated on her, he was very good to her.

When her parents died, the bank seized everything because his dad took a loan for a big project. She doesn't know what project he was doing that could make them lose everything.

Unfortunately, his dad was the only child who built everything from scratch even though her grandparents were rich he wanted to be independent, so she couldn't ask for help from any relatives and her mother wasn't from a rich home. She was her dad's secretary and they hooked up.

Her grandfather had a heart attack when he heard the news of the death of his only son. He left everything to her, all his wealth accumulated over the past decades, but she could only obtain it when she reaches 25 years old. She never knew why the old man set that condition. Nobody knows about this except for grandpa's lawyer.

At that moment she felt all alone. That day was supposed to her happiest day since it was her birthday but all she felt was despair. Since then, she has always hated her birthday.

The moment she lost everything all her friends pushed her aside.

They bullied or mocked her any chance they got. It was like she had been abandoned by the whole world. It was Feng Lu who had been chasing her at that time who protected her. At first, she thought he was a rich playboy who just wanted to play with her, so she refused him. She didn't have the luxury to play around since she had to support herself.

But Feng Lu didn't rush her, he was patient with her and anytime she was in distress he would appear. Gradually she removed the wall built around her and let him in, who would've thought he would cheat on her?

His mother never liked her because his father used to like her mother, but her mother only got eyes for her dad. This is the main reason why his mother opposed their relationship, not just because she was now poor with no background. She didn't want a woman who looked like her husband's crush in their family.

Ru Shi knew this very well.

Grandpa Feng was also very good to her, he even gave her this apartment. At first, she refused but he said they would be family, so she had no choice but to accept.

When he proposed that she marries Feng Lu she was afraid because of his mother but with the authority of grandpa Feng, no one opposed it.

In order to do something for Feng Lu, she decided to take him to Paris, with the money she had worked hard for during their honeymoon. Unfortunately, she saw him banging Xiao Ran three days before their wedding. At first, she thought he was drugged or something, it was when she told Shen Ruyi that she told her, they've been banging since one month ago. She didn't want to hurt her, so she didn't tell her.

She got up and walked to the balcony, she felt desolated like she has been abandoned by the whole world. The dark-colored eyes stared at the starry sky.

Anytime she missed her parents, she would look at the stars. She believed that they must have become a star in the sky watching her and guarding her.

The clear eyes stared at the stars, with a dignified look.

She thought after canceling the marriage, Feng Lu would be angry and wouldn't appear in front of her.

He was the pride of the sky, he was the only grandson of the Feng family's third generation. He was pampered and arrogant since childhood. He was an extremely proud person.

Unexpectedly, he waited at the door for her and asked them to get back together.

She put this at the back of her mind, she switched off the lights and laid in her bed.

It took her quite some time to finally fall into a troubled, restless sleep that brought disturbing dreams of a handsome, fair colored haired, brown-eyed man with an expression filled with anguish and misery. In the dream, Ru Shi was an observer trying desperately to reach the man in agony, holding out her hand to him, begging him to latch onto her, to let her help him. He started to slowly lift one hand, struggling to hold her hand. Finally, his hand met hers, his grip was firm, and she tugged with every ounce of strength she had, trying to bring him to her.

In the end, she couldn't. No matter how hard she tried until she fell, completely losing her grip on him.
