After Shen Ruyi has finished bathing, She wrapped her towel around her head since she couldn't use her hairdryer. She wore baggy pajamas as she came downstairs. It was the only way she could think to protect herself. 'What man will want to do something to a woman in baggy clothes?' She thought when she was putting on her clothes.

When she came downstairs, she did not see Liang Shao. He is still bathing? Just as she was about to sit and wait for him, she heard a sound in the kitchen. She froze. Who could it be? Could it be a thief? Shen Ruyi had completely forgotten that she was not alone in her house at the moment. She took her lamp and a baseball bat and tiptoed to the kitchen so as not to alarm the thief.

The moment she entered she raised the bat to sneakily attack the thief. Liang Shao felt an inexplicable danger he turned around quickly and held her hands. "What do you think you're doing?" Liang Shao asked as he raised his brows.

'Gosh, this woman wants to kill him.' If, he hadn't blocked the bat. Liang Shao felt a cold shiver along his spine. "That--- I thought it was a thief." Liang Shao sighed when he heard her. "Stupid, if it was a thief were you planning on hitting him with this? Don't you know is dangerous to attack a thief alone? What if he has a gun?" Liang Shao scolded her as he put her hand down.

Shen Ruyi bowed her head like a child being reprimanded by her parents. Seeing her sad look, Liang Shao felt bad. He raised his hands to pat her head but stop midway. 'What I'm I doing?' Shen Ruyi looked up and she saw his hand hanging in the air as he thinks in a daze. 'What was he planning on doing?'

"Are you okay?" Shen Ruyi's voice woke him up from his stupor. "Come, I prepared ginger tea." Liang Shao said as he scratched his head. Shen Ruyi raised her brows. 'He was preparing tea for her? Why does this man keep sending her mixed signals?' She sighed.

Shen Ruyi looked at the man who was elegantly sipping his tea. He looked so handsome. 'Shen Ruyi, what is wrong with you?' Liang Shao felt a gaze on him the moment he turned he caught Shen Ruyi staring at him. Shen Ruyi looked away when she saw that he has caught her staring at him. 

"So why do you live alone? Don't you want to live in the family house?'" Liang Shao asked suddenly. Shen Ruyi sipped her ginger tea as she looks at him. "Well, my parents aren't home and I don't want to live with those hypocrites in the family. Here I can do whatever I want." Shen Ruyi said.

"I see. So do you have a boyfriend?" Liang Shao suddenly blurted out. He froze after he finished speaking. "I...mean you don't have to answer if you don't want to," he said as he looked at her. Looking at how nervous he was, Shen Ruyi burst into laughter. 'He looked so cute.' She thought.

"Well, not at the moment." Liang Shao's tensed muscles finally relaxed. "What about you? Do you have a girlfriend?" Liang Shao looked at her. " No." He said briefly.

"Oh, why don't you have one?" Shen Ruyi asked. Even though, it seems she was asking casually her heart was beating fast anticipating his answer. "I—like someone but is not possible." Liang Shao whispered faintly. Shen Ruyi's heart skipped her a beat. She was now curious about the woman who can get Liang Shao's affection.

"Who, if you don't mind me asking?" She said as she clenched her pajamas. "You---". Shen Ruyi spewed out the tea in her mouth when she heard him. "Wait, what?" She interrupted him. Liang Shao playfully knocked her head. "You didn't let me finish speaking. What are you thinking in your head?"

Shen Ruyi laughed awkwardly as she picked up a napkin to clean the tea on the table. "Sorry, about that." Liang Shao smiled faintly but didn't say anything. An awkward silent fall between them. After a few minutes, she took the cups and placed it on the sink. She blushed when she felt his gaze on her every move. 

"That, I will go to my room. You can sleep in the guest room for tonight." Shen Ruyi said as she picked her lamp and went to her room. Liang Shao looked at her back and sighed. He sat there as he fell in deep thoughts. Nobody knew what he was thinking at the moment.

Shen Ruyi was feeling restless she doesn't know why she couldn't sleep. Why is she bothered by the fact that he likes someone? It is not as there is something between them. He can like whoever he wants but why is her heart hurting?! She got up to fetch a bottle of water, when she reached the kitchen she saw Liang Shao sitting in a daze. "You, why are you still here?" Shen Ruyi asked. 

Liang Shao said nothing, he stood up and then he approached her. Shen Ruyi stepped back when she saw him approaching her. "You, what do you want to do?" Liang Shao stared at her for a few seconds before he then bends down his head to kiss her. Shen Ruyi widened her eyes. What does he want to do? Just as his lips were about to touch her, the lights came on.

As if a bucket of cold water has been poured on him, Liang Shao stepped back. God, what was he thinking?! He nearly kissed her. He cleared his throat and patted her head gently. "Goodnight." He said as if nothing has happened.

Shen Ruyi stood in a daze. What the hell just happened and why is her heart beating so fast? She wants to scream in frustration. This stupid guy keeps sending her mixed signals confusing her. He tells her he loves someone and now he nearly kissed her.
