Milady's Fine Gentleman 79 FIFTH MEAL 2

After lunch, they went around for a stroll. Walking hand in hand, they slowly explored the stalls and shops around the area. Their faces both bright and beaming with smiles. Their personas were both coated with too much honey. Bees would have flocked around them.

Once in a while they exchanged sweet glances, both gazes covered with exceeding warmth and love.

"Are you that happy?" Chen Linyun asked the lady.

"Yes!" She laughed. Without care about their surroundings, she wrapped her arms around his neck and proceeded to capture his lips. Her almond eyes closed, she passionately showered her husband with kisses.

Her husband.

'Woah. I have a husband now.' She thought while she was kissing him.

Chen Linyun was helpless in Xue Jinxu's advances. He could not believe that she could be this aggressive...and shameless, considering that they were in a public space, with lots of passers-by. Although he liked that Xue Jinxu was this affectionate to him, he was so embarrassed because for sure, all the people had turned their eyes on them already. He wanted to hide under a rock!

Finally, the lady finished her little episode of saccharine attack. She released Chen Linyun.

She returned to being demure. Her lashes flickered beautifully. She got shy because of the kiss. Chen Linyun did not know whether to laugh or cry or both. She got shy after the deed was done, not before or during. He pinched her cheek ever so gently using his index and middle finger. He had always wanted to pinch her this way whenever she's acting cute.

This time, he kissed her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and used a little bit of force to pull her closer. He grabbed her cheek to hold it in place. They were standing on a short bridge, under flowering trees. The trees shed little yellow petals, it was like raining with bright yellow snow. It was extremely romantic.

Chen Linyun did not care about the surroundings anymore. What he only cared about was this woman in front of him, with him. The woman who chose him, among all the men who wooed her, to be with her forever.

When he released her they were both panting. "Let's save the rest for later." He said, pertaining to that event which comes after the wedding – the honeymoon.

Xue Jinxu blushed and hid her face under the shadow of her hand cupped along her temple. She's becoming meeker. It wasn't in her personality.

"Misis Chen." Chen Linyun called her while intertwining their hands. His head lowered to take a peep on her face hiding under her hand.

"Mhmm?" Xue Jinxu was becoming more bashful, and redder on the face. The title was taking its toll on her. Her heart was pounding loudly, too mercilessly as if it wanted to go out of her body.

"Nothing, Misis Chen." He enclosed her lovingly in his warm embrace then stamped his ownership with a kiss on her forehead. "Finally you're officially mine now, Misis Chen."

"What are we now?" He fascinatingly asked. He knew the answer well.

"We are an official couple now, husband dear~" Xue Jinxu answered back, full of pride. She buried her head on her chest, tilting her head sideways such that her temple rested on his chest instead. Then she started to sway them both amorously.

"I love you Chen Linyun." She said.

Chen Linyun froze. They stopped swinging altogether.

Xue Jinxu lifted her head to look at his face. "What's wrong?" She asked worriedly, her forehead had lines on it.

"Nothing. I will never get used to those words. Can you say it again?"

"I love you Chen Linyun." She repeated obediently, maintaining her gaze on his face, watching his reaction carefully. There was a hint of a smile on her cherry lips.

Chen Linyun's countenance changed reactions so swiftly. No one could ever deny that he's overwhelmed as his face showed it too strongly. He was experiencing mixed emotions – there were too many emotions present. At one side, he was was extremely happy, that he wanted to cry out of joy. At the other side he felt extremely frightened that all of this might be only a dream, and that he would wake up soon, only realizing that it was not true at all. But it is, in every aspect, true! At one side he felt the heavy responsibility to stand strong for the both of them. Their struggle was not over yet. Instead, it was only starting. Their battle, as a couple had only began.

"I love you too, Xue Jinxu. I'll make sure you won't regret your decision of choosing me."

Not too far away, a car pulled over the sidewalk. A man was watching the Chen couple closely. He could sense the romance between the two. It was too obvious. He disembarked from the car.

The man was Zhu Li Qiang. He approached the couple to confront them.

"Xue Jinxu." He called.

The lady's head which was leaning on the man's face turned towards the direction of the voice.

"Can we talk privately?" Zhu Li Qiang asked her, but he was looking at Chen Linyun, in fact, threateningly.

Chen Linyun was not dumb. He could sense the animosity from this man. 'Who's this scumbag? Is he the one she's betrothed to?' He returned his gaze with a piercing glare, equally threatening.

"I'll get drinks for a while. You must be thirsty. Perhaps there's something important you need to discuss." Chen Linyun told her supportively. He kissed her cherry lips passionately while staring at Zhu Li Qiang, as if to warn him that this woman was his and his alone.

"Okay." Xue Jinxu retorted. She's breaking into cold sweat. She's having goosebumps too. It was like she's at a boundary where war will break any moment between these two men. She was put into a tight spot.

Good thing Chen Linyun gave them some space to sort things out. 'I thought we've sorted things out before.' Was what Xue Jinxu had in mind.

Good thing, Chen Linyun knew better than to be insecure, because he had just officially made her his for a lifetime. This fellow was too late! Hahaha. The last laugh belonged to Chen Linyun.

"Xue Jinxu." He called her again. There was apparent pain on his face.

"Who is he? You seem to be close to him." Zhu Li Qiang inquired.

In her mind she answered, 'My husband.' But in reality, she said, "My Romeo." Xue Jinxu replied with the same language that Zhu Li Qiang usually uses. With that short response, she excused herself, and went towards where Chen Linyun was. It was enough to relay her message.

"But I'm your Romeo." Zhu Li Qiang muttered to himself, hurt as ever. Hopefully, this will be the end of his pursuit.
