/ Milady's Fine Gentleman 191 EVENTFUL VACATION
They were questioning what they were seeing. Where they seeing things? Were they hallucinating?
That night, in the confines of their bedroom, the Chen couple talked about if further.
"The two of you made up with each other, huh?" Chen Linyun introduced the topic while Xue Jinxu was on the dresser, tending to herself. She was brushing her hair. She just finished applying her night cream.
"Yeah. You know you have to pick your battles. I don't have much energy to expend on her account, especially when the source of our feud is gone."
"Turns out it's all a misunderstanding."
Xue Jinxu relayed everything to Chen Linyun.
"So Mo Wenbin knew all this time. Again, he did not disclose the information!" Chen Linyun was annoyed. The matter of who promised marriage to who could have been cleared up a lot earlier.
"At least he told her the truth. You're acquitted, honey~" She said sweetly.
"I have always been innocent." Chen Linyun was still annoyed. "But darling, good job on making up with her. I'm proud of you."
"Aww, Chen Linyun dear, do you mean that?" Xue Jinxu retorted while tucking herself under the blankets and cuddling with the husband.
"Of course. I thought you would lose your temper and go berserk. You're scary, do you know that?"
"I am?" She blinked many times, feigining innocence. "When?"
"Jinxu!" He attacked her with kisses and tickles. "What am I going to do with you, really?!"
"Chen Linyun! Hahahahaha! That tickles!!!! Hahahaha!!! Stop! Stop! No! Stop! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" She was laughing hard and crying too, from too much laughing. Her tummy was hurting too, from too much laughing that she had to massage it with her hand.
Loud knockings came crashing on their bedroom's door. *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
"HEY LOVEBIRDS, KEEP IT DOWN!!!" It was Mo Wenbin. He seemed furious from helplessly eavesdropping their private exchanges. In truth they weren't really doing anything inappropriate. But then again, it did not seem appropriate either.
In actuality, Mo Wenbin was the only one who brazenly voiced out his opinion. But upon hearing the noise from the couple's room, the other five's faces flushed red and were initially trying to keep their silence in deep embarassmsent until Mo Wenbin decided to intervene. Had he not, would they have endured it all through the night?
"Oh, sorry! Sorry! We will! G'night!!" Xue Jinxu called out from inside the room. She giggled to Chen Linyun and whispered. "Were we too loud?"
"You were." Chen Linyun told her with a stoic face while removing his eyeglasses and getting ready for slumber.
"Hey!" She was still whispering. "That's not fair! You were tickling me! It was your fault!"
Chen Linyun was chuckling. "It was my fault that you were noisy?"
"Whatever, Chen Linyun! Good night!" Just when Xue Jinxu was turning off the lamp, Chen Linyun grabbed her by the waist.
She gasped loudly. "HUH!!"
"Shhh!! What are you doing, Chen Linyun!!"
"Annoying them more. Hahaha."
"You madman! They will be traumatized in the morning. It's too embarrassing!" She hissed. "Stop it! Behave! Let's sleep peacefully."
However, before they could rest for the night, Chen Linyun's phone kept on ringing. "Who would be calling at this time?" Chen Linyun whined while picking up his phone from the side table. "Oh, it's mother."
"Mother-in-law?" Xue Jinxu sat up and turned on the lamp for light. "Why is she calling at this hour?"
It was a call overseas from Country D. It was a video call.
"Mother."
"Linyun, son, how are you? I haven't heard from you for a while. I'm worried."
"I'm fine, Mother. Jinxu's here too. We're on vacation in Sanya. We… got back together."
"Really? Fantastic! Where's Jinxu? Dearest daughter-in-law, show your face dear!"
"Hi Mother! How have you been?" Xue Jinxu asked awkwardly. She hadn't met her face-to-face yet, only via video call. Most probably she heard what happened with their relationship from Chen Linyun.
"Mother, are you somehow… mad at me? I'm sorry, Mother…" Xue Jinxu said guiltily, apologetically.
"No worries if you get back together. At least you sort if out already. When will you two come and visit me here? Why don't you spend some time here with me for another vacation? I understand you've been through a lot, both of you, children."
"Mother, we'll check our schedule and think it through." Chen Linyun retorted. "Mother, it's in the middle of the night here. We have to go to sleep. Be safe, Mother!"
"Oh, Linyun, you evasive little brat."
He chuckled. "Sorry, mother. We'll visit you soon. We promise! Take care of your health, Mother!"
"See you soon, Mother!" Xue Jinxu seconded.
"Alright, you two! Be here sooner! I'll be waiting! Bye!"
The video call ended.
Xue Jinxu sighed contentedly. "You mother is really kind and understanding. After all that has happened, she didn't harbor ill feelings towards me."
"As long as we're together again. Mother is really supportive of me."
"We have to schedule our visit to her as soon as possible."
"En. For now let's sleep."

The next day, all seven gathered at the dining table.
"Morning y'all!" Xue Jinxu greeted.
Teng Man Rui and Hwang Meilin were already cooking at the kitchen. Zhu Li Qiang was lending a hand to the ladies. Xue Guangxi was still asleep in the bedroom. They left him be since he's still a growing kid.
"Hey, Jinxu, could you two be more discreet?" Mo Wenbin complained so early in the morning.
"Sorry. It's Chen Linyun's fault! Scold him!" She countered.
*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*
*Ehem* *Ehem*
The ladies who were cooking and the men who heard the comments either coughed or cleared their throats. It was awkward.
"Hahaha!! Hilarious." Xue Jinxu brushed all of them cheerfully. Chen Linyun was still in their bedroom.
Xue Jinxu was on her way to the kitchen when she felt her stomach churn. She diverted her course and went straight to the restroom instead. She was on the brink of throwing up so she ran towards the restroom hurriedly.
Chen Linyun had just come out of their bedroom when Xue Jinxu went past him. She made this disturbing gurgling sound, "Blllkk.." and was quite pale in the face.
"Jinxu. Jinxu, are you alright?"
"Hey, Chen Linyun, is she pregnant again?" Mo Wenbin asked.
Chen Linyun instantly froze. 'Is she? Is she pregnant again?' He did not know the answer.
Zhu Li Qiang who was standing near him nudged him. "Hey, Chen Linyun, wake up!" He snapped his fingers repeatedly in front of him.
Without answering, he went after Xue Jinxu towards the direction of the bathroom.
