MMO: Pierce Heaven Til' It Breaks 685 Thunder Barrage

Fluttering Snow City, Fluttering Snow Continent.

Ever since the Invincible Continent lost the war, the Fluttering Snow City had never had a moment's peace. Countless players went there every day and used their own methods to get payback for that day's events.

Compared to the players who only ever rattled off insults, these ones undeniably walked their talk.

If they killed one before they returned to their city, they would break even. If they killed two, they would earn one. These practical types did everything within their own power to deal one blow to the enemy after another.

On the seventh day after the big battle, Unending Unmatched rode his Red-horned Griffin and landed outside Fluttering Snow City. Armed with just his sword, and with no one else around him, he strode toward the city.

When he approached the city gates, he was noticed, and several thousand players surrounded him, preventing him from advancing.

Unending Unmatched rushed forth with his sword, his entire body enveloped in golden light. Right now, he was using the Warrior's Epic-level defensive skill, Shield of Earth.

The snow-white sword gleam flashed over and over again, reaping several lives each time. The Shieldsword may not look particularly sharp, but the blade actually had a very long reach, twice that of normal two-handed weapons.

"Returning Shield!"

Unending Unmatched stood at the city gates, holding his Shieldsword horizontally and shoving it forward, taking down several dozen players with one blow before stepping past the city gates easily.

His HP kept falling, but with two layers of protection in Absolute Defense and Shield of Earth, he never dropped more than 5HP at once. Even if his opponents chipped away at him for hours, he just had to drink a bottle of Sacred Tranquility to immediately recover all of his health.

"Where's Black Wing? I'm looking for Black Wing!"

Unending Unmatched charged forth with a furious roar, the Shieldsword swinging left and right. The players who had never learned any Territories could do nothing to stop him, and in an instant, he had entered the city proper.

"You motherf*cker, I'm gonna make you pay! Out of my way, this one's mine!"

Drifting Snow arrived just in time, and one glance at Unending Unmatched was enough to make him blow his top. His sudden and inexplicable loss last time frustrated him to no end, so he had been harping on getting a rematch with Unending Unmatched.

With a wave of Drifting Snow's hand, the Rocky War Bear appeared underneath his feet. He then immediately used Charge, darting up to Unending Unmatched.

"Swish-swish-swish…"

Unending Unmatched slashed at the Rocky War Bear thrice before Charging up to Drifting Snow and using Returning Shield to bash him to death.

Drifting Snow flew several dozen meters back, landing on the ground. Just like last time, he still did not understand how he had died…

'Since when has my Absolute Invincibility become so fragile?'

He was utterly lost.

"Woo-woo-woo-woo—"

Just then, the city's alarm sirens began to wail, and tens of thousands of players swarmed in, surrounding Unending Unmatched from all sides.

"I'm looking for Black Wing!"

Unending Unmatched raised the Shieldsword in his hand, the blade running with a faint electrical current. Faced with attacks from all sides, he just barked loudly and fiercely brought his Shieldsword down.

"Thunder—Barrage!"

The Shieldsword shot out an intense shockwave that instantly covered 50 square yards around him…

After the Barrage, no one within 50 square yards of him remained standing.

There were corpses all over the floor!

Unending Unmatched swung his sword, blocking the attacks. Soon enough, his Fury Bar was fully filled once more, and he dashed forth, using Thunder Barrage again.

After a few consecutive Thunder Barrages, he had already killed more than a thousand enemies all on his own. The surviving players were so shocked that they had even forgotten to attack…

Warriors had high DEF and HP, but as a melee class, their biggest flaw was that they barely had any usable AoE attacks. While Wizards could kill hundreds or thousands with one Blizzard Spell, Warriors could hold their own in one-on-one battles, but it was nearly impossible for them to kill more than a hundred players with one blow.

However, Unending Unmatched had done the impossible. In fact, he killed more than a thousand in one hit, his sheer power rendering many speechless.

"What the f*ck is that skill?"

"Can Warriors use such a skill?"

"F*ck me, something's not right here. I'm a Shield Warrior too, and I've learned all the skills. Why don't I know this one?"

"I've never even heard of it…"

The players lying on the ground had no idea what was happening, even until they died.

"The Shieldsword! Could it be his Shieldsword's doing?" yelled someone suddenly.

Holding his Shieldsword with both hands, Unending Unmatched used Thunder Barrage again.

There were absolutely no hacks in King of Pantheon, so the only way for Unending Unmatched to use a skill like that was clear for anyone who cared to think.

It was the Shieldsword! The Shieldsword!

It had to be the Shieldsword!

"I'm looking for Black Wing!" Unending Unmatched roared again.

He was probably the one who felt the most frustrated these past few days. Ever since he equipped the Shieldsword, his Fury Bar had been forcefully sealed, and then he received a quest requiring him to solo several dozen bosses before he could unlock his Fury Bar again.

When he fought Black Wing, Unending Unmatched had not even completed half of that quest yet. In other words, he had defeated Drifting Snow and Not Gray Wolf before losing to Black Wing, all without using Fury.

How did Unending Unmatched break past Drifting Snow's and Not Gray Wolf's Territory Skills? The answer was very simple—the Divine Weapon Snickersnee had forged came with the Holy attribute.

[Shieldsword, Orange Quality, Holy +3.]

Just those three points of Holy had dismantled Drifting Snow's and Not Gray Wolf's Territory Skills.

The Holy attribute was vital because equipment with that attribute could drastically increase his Territory Power and even rapidly decrease his opponent's Territory. Drifting Snow and Not Gray Wolf did not have any Holy Equipment, so each time he slashed them, he would take away a good chunk of their Territory Power. That was why they died after three to five hits.

Once they ran out of Territory Power, they were no different from any regular player. That was why it did not matter what their Territory Skills were. The results would remain the same.

In the past life, Brother Windcloud Nine never learned any Territories, but he managed to become one of the 100 God Wars players wholly because he had a suit of uber legendary Holy Equipment. That just showed how important Holy Equipment was.

The Shieldsword's Holy attribute was merely an add-on, and Unending Unmatched could use Thunder Barrage simply because of the Shieldsword's 'additional attribute'.

[Additional Attribute: Increases Thunder Strike's range to 50 square yards and increases the number of attacks by 10,000. Ignores all skills and DEF. Deals 100% damage.]

The Shieldsword did not have many additional attributes, just the one. Its only function was to transform Thunder Strike into a ridiculously overpowered AoE attack.

The skill required 100 Fury points, but there was no limit to how many times the skill could be used.

For a Divine Weapon to be called as such, the power of the additional attribute was crucial. Take Li Yi's Wind Sword for example; it was just a Purple Quality Epic-level weapon, but one of its additional attributes halved all of the user's cooldown times. That alone meant that the Wind Sword would never be eliminated from the meta.

"Thunder Barrage!"

The Absolute Defense Territory Skill was very powerful, then add that to a Shield Warrior's defensive skills, and a regular player's attacks were no more than scratches to him. Unending Unmatched used Charge and crashed all across Fluttering Snow City, immediately unleashing Thunder Barrage every time he gathered 100 Fury. Just one trip around the city resulted in more than ten thousand deaths by his hand.

However, Unending Unmatched never got to meet Black Wing. No matter how he shouted, Black Wing simply never showed up. Not Gray Wolf, on the other hand, did appear and summon an army of Undead at him, but he eventually ended up just like Drifting Snow, taken down within moments.

"Why isn't my Immortal Body working again? How the f*ck did you do it?"

Even after dying to Unending Unmatched twice in a row, Not Gray Wolf still had no idea how it happened.

It was no wonder. After all, all of the equipment released by the system now did not have a trace of the Holy attribute. Only the Divine Weapon Snickersnee forged had it, so it would be weirder if Not Gray Wolf did know about it.

Just as Unending Unmatched was proceeding uninterrupted, a large Warrior armed with a silver shield stood in his path.

It was the Fluttering Snow Continent's Number One Main Tank, Amber Sword Heart!

The two of them had crossed swords during the Brawl King Tournament, and back then, Unending Unmatched had easily defeated Amber Sword Heart. That was also when Unending Unmatched had won the honor of being Pantheon's Number One Main Tank.

Of course, the title of Pantheon's Number One Main Tank had only been bestowed upon Unending Unmatched by the Invincible Continent players, and the players from the other two continents would never acknowledge it. For instance, to the Ninth Continent, their Number One Main Tank was Brother Windcloud Nine, whereas to the Fluttering Snow Continent, it had been and always will be Amber Sword Heart.

When the two of them faced off, they charged at each other without even a word of warning, slashing at each other with their swords.

"Pfft!"

Each of them landed a blow. Unending Unmatched dealt more damage, slashing off 30,000 from Amber Sword Heart's health, whereas Amber Sword Heart only dealt him 13 damage.

The second time they crossed swords, Amber Sword Heart was warier. He did not dare to attack him head-on, using his shield to block the damage instead.

"Clang!"

"Pfft!"

Unending Unmatched's attack landed on Amber Sword Heart's shield without dealing him any damage. On the other hand, Amber Sword Heart's sword pierced his arm, shaving another 13HP.

That damage output was just too low. If this went on, Amber Sword Heart would not be able to kill Unending Unmatched even if the latter just stood there.

However, Amber Sword Heart did not seem to be bothered by his low damage output. He remained wholly focus on fighting Amber Sword Heart, every movement careful and calculated. As soon as Unending Unmatched raised his Shieldsword, Amber Sword Heart would immediately retreat quickly.

"Dodging won't help. Thunder Barrage!"

Unending Unmatched gathered up 100 Fury points and used Thunder Barrage without hesitation.

As soon as the thunder began to spark, Amber Sword Heart suddenly charged forth and reached out his hand, grabbing at Unending Unmatched.

"Titan's Grip!"

"Bang!"

In the aftermath of the barrage of lightning, Amber Sword Heart had a tight grip on Unending Unmatched's arm!
