MIMI 62 Selfish Desire

"Eh?" Jinny flinched slightly by the sound of her fierce tone.

"Code," Mimi said impatiently pointing towards the vending machine - not breaking eye contact with the small woman.

"Oh! U-Um...it's 2B56A7." Jinny stuttered with flushed plump cheeks.

Damn, that was one hell of a code Mimi couldn't help but scoff inwardly.

After Jinny provided her the code, Mimi merely turned away from her placing the set of letter and numbers into the vending machine keypad.

While Mimi quietly pressed buttons to the machine to choose a snack, Jinny standing beside Mimi - nervously fiddling with her suit skirt.

Every so often she'd shift a few glances towards the young girl standing quietly beside her clicking buttons on the vending machine.

From close up, she could see the girl's slender jake-like skin and neck covered by a small spiked choker.

Even with her neck-length hair flowing in front of her face, Jinny could clearly see Mimi's long silky lashes.

The girl was dressed in a flowing black skirt and ripped tights covering her slender legs. Properly covering her chest was a red leather shirt which was slightly covered by a black leather jacket.

Wrapped around her soft hands were fingerless ink colored leather gloves.

Jinny hadn't noticed before due to the thick makeup Mimi wore, but the girl was definitely an extraordinary beauty!

She even possessed such shining unblemished skin that Jinny couldn't help but stare wonderingly at Mimi with sparkling brown eyes.

It was such a shame that such a gorgeous girl didn't know how to use makeup properly. Otherwise, she would have undoubtedly been the most attractive female in the company!

As Mimi ignored the petite woman beside her, she was unable to prevent the twitch from her lip as she suffered through the woman's intense gaze on her.

She could practically feel the radiating sparkles coming from the woman's gaze. It was almost too dazzling for her to handle.

Finally finishing, after Mimi felt as if ten blinding years had passed, the vending machine lets out Mimi's delicious snacks. Rapidly reaching into the vending machine Mimi grabs her two bags of chips and candy bars, and walks past the dazed Jinny.

Suddenly realizing Mimi was walking away, Jinny swiftly turns around to look at Mimi's departing figure.

"U-Um, please wait!" Jinny pleaded loudly.

Pausing her steps, Mimi calmly rotates her head to stare at Jinny, her back continuing to face the woman. From her single movement, Jinny sighed in evident relief.

"About that time when you first came here," Jinny fiddled nervously with her skirt once more before sucking in a steadying breath of air and bowing her head low. "I want to apologize for my thoughtless actions that day! If what I said offended you then I'm willing to do anything within my ability to compensate you for my offensive actions!"

As the young woman bowed deeply towards Mimi, she hadn't noted the sinister expression forming on the girl's face a mischievous sneer spreading across her luscious lips.

If others were to see a Senior bowing towards her junior they'd most likely widen their eyes with disbelief. Or for those who liked to seek trouble, blame Mimi for bullying the small woman.

Not thinking to pay any more attention to Jinny's act of an emotional apology, Mimi once more turns her heels around to walk away.

Detecting the faint sound of footsteps growing distant Jinny abruptly raises her head to instantly see Mimi walking away again.

"W-Wait! I'm truly sorry, I-" Jinny nervously begins but is cut off by Mimi's indifferent tone.

"Are you really?" Mimi's cold eyes narrow towards the woman.

Startled by Mimi's unexpected question and cold glare, Jinny clamps her mouth shut her face instantly paling.

"Of course I am! Please forgive me. I'm really sorry for my reckless and hurtful words that day!" Jinny quickly spoke.

Remaining silent for a few seconds, Mimi all of the sudden releases a faint chuckle, her head lowered towards the polished floor.

Slowly lifting her face up, she reveals her mocking violet eyes. A lazy glare directed itself in Jinny's direction causing her to shudder slightly.

"Forgive you?" Mimi sneered. "My, my, you really are insensitive aren't you?"

"W...What?" Jinny stumbled backward with trembling hands. "I...Insensitive? But I-"

"Why should I forgive you when you're merely saying such bullshit for your own selfish reassurance? Smiling all the time, doing what society likes to please others, isn't it tiring?" Mimi said gently with a pleasant smile but empty eyes. "Using other's to please your hidden selfish desire of wanting to be liked. Even when you're not being sincere, you continue to please those around you. Wouldn't that be considered insensitive and selfish?"

Stunned by her words, Jinny's rosy face quickly flushes, her lips quivering.

"Sorry to disappoint, but I don't like to be used for such petty needs," Mimi glared.

"Stop it! That's not it!" Jinny suddenly shouted her burning eyes blazing furiously with an unknown emotion. "That's not, I swear!"

"Hmm? Is that so?" Mimi's wicked smile soon fell, a bored expression once more placed on her face. "In that case, I guess I misunderstood."

Subtly shifting her body around Mimi once again begins to walk away but suddenly stops in her tracks.

"Oh right, thanks for the code. As a sincere thank you, here's a little advice..." Mimi said, her tone turning sharp. "Try your best to make everyone happy, and you will forget how you should laugh."

Following those words, Mimi for the final time walks off disappearing down the hall.

As Jinny was left in the broad hallway all by herself, she couldn't prevent her small body from trembling nervously.

Why? Why had her words shaken her up so much?

If what she said were such outrageous lies...then why did they affect her to such an unknown extent?

Winding her arms around herself, Jinny harshly bites down on her bottom lip.

"Oh, Jinny did you finish going to the bathroom? That sure took you a while." Senior Su kindly smiles upon seeing the petite woman entering the department.

"Ah...Yeah, I forgot where the bathroom was since I was in a rush and ended up somewhere else!" Jinny scratched the back of her head awkwardly.

"Jeez, Jinny you're such an airhead sometimes!" A female employed laughed amusedly.

"I sure hope you didn't run into that little gothic vixen. I saw her walk out before you earlier." Another female employee said irritably.

Towards her words, Jinny remained silent a glassy expression forming on her face. Like a switch she shakes her head - her plump face glows brightly, a cheery laugh escaping her lips.

"Haha, I was too busy trying to find a bathroom I didn't have time to see anyone." Jinny giggled.

"You're lucky! If you did, I'd bet she would have mocked you after what you said to her that time. She's really a shameless little brat!" The previous female employee said.

"That's enough. No matter what she's still our junior," Senior Su sighed helplessly.

"Oh please! That girls too much of a demon to be considered anyone's junior!" The female employee snorted contemptuously. "The day I consider her my junior is the day pigs fly!"

"Or the day she performs a single piece of work," The other employee snickered.

The two female employees presently began laughing towards one another's cruel jokes made on Mimi. Senior Su who watched them couldn't help but sigh, yet she hadn't tried to discontinue them again.

Jinny, who stood awkwardly on the side, watched with a strained smile, sometimes laughing along.

Try your best to make everyone happy, and you will forget how you should laugh.

Remembering the unknown words Mimi told her before she walked off began to appear in Jinny's head.

She wasn't trying anything. She was just…

Pausing her sudden thoughts, Jinny tightly purses her lips together into a straight line, Senior Su suddenly notices the woman's change in expression.

"Jinny?" Senior Su called out worriedly.

"Eh?"

"Are you alright?" Senior Su asked.

"Yup! Thank you for your concern, Senior Su!"
