06 – Mutant in Minecraft?

Alex was thrilled to see people liking the player's livestream, who apparently was named Ned.

"Finally some entertainment!" Alex squealed in happiness.

He didn't have any form of contact with the outside world, only being able to do things related to the game, so being able to watch other people interact was already a big step forward for him.

[Ding ]

[Ding ]

Two new notifications came from the [Game Analytics ] app.

In this show he could see how the game was doing, how much it sold, how long players were online, and that sort of thing.

Those two notifications only meant one thing, he sold two more copies!

Ned's livestream had 40 people watching him, and the number was continuing to grow. For someone like Ned who only had 1 follower before he started playing, getting 40 people together was awesome. And these people calling more and more friends was becoming a great free publicity for Alex's game.

[Units sold: 3 ($60) ]

"My game has already sold $60! This is amazing!" Alex was happy as he rushed to open the [Converter ] tab to calculate how many points he could earn from these sales of copies of the game.

[$60 = 0.3 Gaming Points ]

"Urhgg... that's not even 1 Gaming Point? So I'll need $200 to get 1 Gaming Point? To make another 200 Gaming Points Sandbox game would I need $40,000? Damn, that's too expensive! What a conversion! ridiculous is that?" Alex yelled in frustration.

"I need to calm down, $40,000 is only 2,000 units sold... not a lot, right?" Alex wondered uncertainly.

Minecraft in his previous world had sold 600 million copies, which was equivalent to 120 billion dollars if it sold at $20 each copy, with such huge potential, Alex didn't have to worry that it wouldn't yield anything for him. The game would probably take a while to start generating more profit, but he shouldn't be in a hurry.

With his mind made up, Alex thought about eating another CupNoodles to celebrate, but remembering that each CupNoodles this one was costing $10, he felt a little guilty for eating this, after all, it was almost 20% of what he had already earned with the game so far...

With a source of entertainment, the day went by pretty quickly. Alex used the rest of the day to continue watching Ned's livestream and felt that it was a lot of fun, way better than sitting in the cabin doing nothing like he was being forced to do before.

The next day, Alex opened [Game Analytics ] and saw the Minecraft stats.

[Minecraft ]

[Units Sold: 41 ($820 ]

[Average time played: 5 hours. ]

[Peak simultaneous players: 34 ]

"This... do I already have enough for 4 Gaming Points?!" Alex was excited. He would no longer have to regulate his own food for fear of not having enough money to support it.

Adding to the 19 Gaming Points he had previously, he could now convert that money and have 23 Gaming Points.

It wasn't much, but he had noticed that more players had started making Minecraft Livestream, which would draw even more attention to the game, providing more sales for it in the future.

"I think the next thing I should develop is multiplayer. This will attract even more people, but before that I need to collect 50 Gaming Points..." Alex chatted to himself.

He wanted to launch Minecraft with multiplayer mode, but to do that he would need to pay more points, which he didn't have much left, so he had to just leave the [Soon ] button next to multiplayer in the game.

With 50 Gaming Points he could buy a server that would support 5,000 people playing online, which was a pretty good number considering that 5,000 people would earn him 500 Gaming Points.

"For now all I can do is wait..." Alex sighed as he opened [Game Following ] and started watching Ned's livestream again. He was surprised that there were already 93 people watching Ned's livestream, that was pretty fast growth for someone who didn't have any followers yesterday.

Until a notification popped up in front of him that left him a little confused.

[Ding, a Mutant just purchased the game, do you want to allow the mutant to use his abilities in the game? ]

"A mutant? What are mutants? Maybe humans who killed a beast and absorbed the essence of it? Or a human who was born with problems?" Alex started to wonder curious, still thinking that this could be a world of magic. He knew the X-Men, but for some reason he was so focused that this could be a world of Dragons and Magic that he didn't think it was a mutant he knew well.

"What does it cost to allow this?" Alex asked the system.

[To allow mutants to use abilities in the game requires 25 Gaming Points for 1250 mutants, if user wanted to allow mutants to lend abilities to humans in game, 25 Gaming Points will be needed for 1250 humans to receive abilities. ]

Seeing this Alex was shocked. That would be very interesting to see. Humans are prejudiced beings, he doesn't doubt that these mutants suffer prejudice wherever they go, but allowing them to lend abilities could make humans see them differently.

"I'll do it when I have enough Gaming Points, it's good to be a considerate game developer!" Alex thought with a proud smile.

He just didn't know that this move would attract a lot more attention than he imagined around the world.

Kurt Wagner was looking for a fun livestream channel to watch, but he was tired of just seeing people playing shooting or war games, these games were cool to play for a year or two, but since he was a kid these were the only types game he had available to play, it became very repetitive...

Until one day, while rummaging through the Twitch website, Kurt found something different.

A livestream with a very intriguing title.

[Minecraft: Another World ]

Curious, he clicked on this livestream to see what was so special about this game, but what he saw surprised Kurt.

On his screen was a small square man holding a camera and talking to people while tending a large farm.

If the man wasn't square, Kurt would think this was just an IRL livestream from some farmer who just wanted company. But no, the square man was wearing armor on his body while he had a sword strapped to his waist, this was not something that happened on farms.

Curious he typed a message in the chat.

[Crawler: What is this? I am new here. ]

Kurt didn't imagine the man's answer would come practically in an instant.

"Haha, this is your first time friend Crawler? Don't be surprised, everyone is like that after seeing Minecraft for the first time. This is a virtual reality game where you go to another world and you can have your own adventures. side of the barn? I was the one who built it with my own hands!" Ned said excitedly as he pointed to the house he was so proud to build.

Kurt was very surprised to see this, as the man responded almost instantly. 'Is this really a game? I was thinking it was some kind of movie, or some new technology for V-Tubers, but the way this man is acting and showing everything around him while interacting with objects, it really feels like a game!' Kurt was excited.

With excitement he opened the game store and bought the game right away.
