Han Fei was dead last. Zhi Rui came above him. but what guan Jing could not understand was how his name as in second and Xunhue was in first place.

He wasn't dumb. The opposite he was a very clever person. He looked up everyone he was going to do the expedition with. He chose Xunhue exactly because her cultivation was stale. He needed people he could lord over to follow him. But suddenly one of those people managed to outdo him. A level three.

"I'm trash now, but eventually, I'll crush you all. Your talents and fame will mean nothing then!" He swore with bloodshot eyes. With a deep breath, he walked down the stairway.

At the end of the steps. Was a humid and hot forest With tall trees holding back the sunlight.

Zhi Rui looked around. There was nothing, but with her lesson from before She activated her sensory spell and the lightweight spell, as a precaution.

On the ground, there were two reptilian people with scaled skin, claws, and red eyes. Each time they hissed, they adjusted their way onto Zhi Rui's position.

'Body heat.' Zhi Rui thought. She contemplated hiding and scaping, but suddenly the sound of branches shaking reached her ears, Without thinking Zhi Rui jumped backward. As she fell. A monkey half her size chopped the branch she was in with his bare hands.

Zhi Rui bounced from branch to branch reducing her fall, until she fell standing on the ground.

She prepared to fight back. but the monkey remained upon the tree. She heard the reptilian people rushing her way.

it wasn't hard to come to the conclusion that it was a physical test. Zhi Rui did not even try to take her mace out of the storage pouch. With blood-thirsty eyes, she jumped in the reptilian's direction.

After thirty days. The jungle was gone. Zhi Rui's body was intact. the fatigue and wounds were gone as if they never existed. when she came to be Zhi Rui was at the end of a stairway, inside a pagoda room. In the middle, the familiar stele stood tall.

Zhi Rui first sat down on the ground, the physical fatigue might've been an illusion but the mental struggle was real. She fought and killed the reptilians. Then the monkeys attacked. After killing them she had to find food and survive for the whole thirty days with intervals of fights to the death. each time got more difficult. She lost an arm and a foot. her mind was in shambles Zhit Rui sat in meditation for three hours to stabilize the mind.

The whole month the thing that kept her from weakening, was the thoughts about her nights with Zhun Xuying and Izaya. The thoughts about killing the general, the idea of completely destroying the sect leader.

Finally, she got up and walked to read the stele.

Physical evaluation: The physical ability of a level two. At level one: Excellent.

adaptation and survival abilities: Did not let Hunger control the moral: Excellent.

With that Zhi Rui was more suspicious. She passed the test with amazing capabilities gaining first place yet her reward is of the same level as before.

Amused by the irony. Zhi Rui took her reward and sat cross-legged instead of descending the stairs.

She gulped down the pill. and felt her muscles heating up.

Outside the Pagoda, Zhao Lin was meditating while Han Feng was walking from side to side.

"It's been six hours already, Why are they taking so long!?" He said

Zhao Lin. sighed with frustration. "Can't you shut up? They chose to go there. If you are so anxious, then go see it for yourself and stop bothering me!" She spoke curtly and started to meditate again.

Han Feng looked at the unchanging pagoda. "It's filled with the undead! How could they be so stupid to just enter it!?"

Zhao Lin abruptly stood up. She gestured and an illusory waterfall appeared behind her.

Han Feng opened his wide. "C-Calm down" as he spoke. an illusory two-meter bear appeared behind him. he slapped his storage pouch a golden shield jumped and he equipped it in his left arm "Finally I was so bored!" He said trembling with excitement. as his skin visibly gre hairy and thick.

Zhao Lin was red with anger. But suddenly a flash of light shone in her eyes and she used all her energy on the ability. An enormous quantity of water formed on top of Han Feng. His mouth dropped open. The size of it was at least four times bigger than what Zhao Lin used to hit the gigantic level two snake. If it hit him he would die without a doubt.

He unknowingly let go of his shield and it fell on the ground. "W-What d-did I ever did to you!?" He questioned.

Zhao Lin did not answer. Rather, he saw Zhao lin jump on her own ability with bloodshot eyes. When she touched the edge of the big drop of water, she coughed a mouthful of blood and screamed: "EXPLODE!"

BOOM!

Everything went blank on Han Feng's eyes. hot water poured upon him. The shock wave shoved him to the ground, forming a small crate. But he got up right after.

He gasped examining his whole body. feeling only small injuries he looked around but there was only fog. "What the hell Lin!? for a second I thought you were going to kill me!" He patted his chest. "Hell, you scared the soul out of my body."

A hand fell on his shoulder. "Oh, What do you want now!?" he asked as he turned around.

But the only thing in front of him was a man with gray skin and red eyes.

Han Feng flexed his legs to jump back but a punch was already on his way.

The world slowed down, the air seemed to hold him in place. With wide eyes, he saw the closed fist hitting the position of his heart. A dull, thump sound went through his body, he did not feel a thing but he knew, it was all over for him.

Han Feng lost the strength on his body and fell down, the only thing in his mind was how his brother would fare without him.

The man who punched looked at his side. "Should we pursue the girl?"

A skinny man with the same traits; gray skin and red eyes, looked back at the big man with ridicule.

"It was a smart move to use the instant vaporization of water as an impulse to get away. Sadly for her, the side she ran off to, is right where Zheng Li is."

The big man frowned.

After a few minutes. Zheng Li wearing the same blood red robe like the other two walked towards them carrying a bloodied spear on his back.

"Did you kill it?" Asked the skinny man. The bigger man stared right into Zheng Li's cold eyes.

"I don't need it killed for now." Zheng Li said.

The bigger man scoffed and walked away.

The skinny man sighed with a complicated expression. "Don't take it to heart, Hound doubts every new guy on the group. The fact that our highness Bianca sent the order herself, is the only thing keeping him from testing you himself."

He then turned and squinted his eyes at Zheng Li "Besides, our highness's orders were clear. We have to kill any and all witnesses."

Zheng Li did not change his countenance. He looked at the sun. From the time he received the call until now, already passed half a day. He simply walked ahead.

"We're late by half a day. Let's go stick." Zheng Li said.

The skinny man; stick. Sighed in exasperation. "Half a day ago was when Bianca told about Zhi Rui's discovery of the inheritance pagoda. Even the light sect would take at least a day to come here. yet you sai we're late?"

Stick shook his head and followed after Zheng Li.

'Whatever is in your head to worship your sister so absurdly, isn't healthy.'
