Lucifer's Descendant System Chapter 168

"Bro, I'm telling you Lucifer is not going to stop us. You know there are people more powerful than him, not to mention that everyone already knows what he is capable of doing," one of the young men sitting at the table said with an expression of contempt.

"Is that guy a complete idiot? Lucifer already showed in his friend's lives everything he could do; that was the biggest mistake they could have made. I doubt you will find a team that has not yet made any strategy to deal with him," said another young man with an expression as if he were talking about something obvious.

Noah looked at his teammates with a smile on his face, and realized that they also had smiles like his. Noah had already told them what he was going to do exactly for situations like this.

As soon as Carlos' livestreams started to have a lot of people watching, he started showing less and less than he was capable of, exactly for people to underestimate him. Even though he would become more famous if he showed that he was stronger, Noah knew that his reputation for winning the championship would be much more impactful, so he went on to hide the cards he had during the matches.

He hadn't used once, let alone . Until now, the only concrete information that opponents had of him was that he was able to teleport during battles. But because of the limitations he intentionally showed, people believed that his teleports had a limit, or that it was too exhausting for him to use often or in rapid succession, but only Noah and his team knew that if the distance was short, he could teleport almost non-stop.

The list of assets he was hiding was only growing, and Noah couldn't wait to see the reaction of these people when they saw what he was hiding.

"You are becoming unnecessarily arrogant. I believe that arrogance will still be the cause of our defeat." The young man who was apparently defending Lucifer was a little disappointed in his team. He longed to win this championship, but his teammates, being Blessed Rank D, believed they were better than everyone else.

Noah couldn't help feeling a little empathetic with the young man who was being despised by his friends. He has suffered a lot because of having a "useless" Blessing, and like this young man, Noah had to develop a very intense caution in order to survive. But apparently his friends had no need for his words of warning, and unfortunately, as the young man said, this would probably be the cause of their defeat.

Hearing that these people were only despising them, Noah and his friends stopped listening to their conversation and began to focus on their lunch. Noah had ordered a large portion of potato chips topped with cheddar cheese and bacon.

"Noah, you really weren't kidding when you said you liked fries, huh? Haha," Kevin gave a small laugh as he looked at the beautiful portion Noah was eating.

Since potatoes were faster and more practical to make, his portion was the first to arrive while the others had to wait for their dish to be made.

Hearing Kevin's comment, Noah broke into a satisfied smile on his face. "Yes, my family has always loved potatoes. No matter how simple the vegetable was, this simplicity has always attracted us. From time to time we even stopped talking to try to eat the rest of the potatoes in the bowl when it was running out, hehe," Noah replied with a nostalgic expression.

"You have no idea. One time back when, he calls me over for some meal of potatoes at his house, and instead of something quiet as everyone would imagine, it looked more like an arena where several lions were trying to eat the only prey that was thrown in between them. It was brutal!" Carlos said it in a very dramatic way, which made the other young men laugh.

Noah noticed that they were looking at his potato portion a lot, so with a kind smile he prepared to speak, which made the other boys' anticipation increase, imagining that he would say that they could also have some of Noah's potatoes, but their anticipation disappeared as soon as Noah opened his mouth.

"This potato is very delicious," he said as he took the pot where the large portion of potatoes was and pulled it closer to himself, as an animal would do to hide its prey so it wouldn't have to share with others.

"Damn, I thought Carlos was overreacting, but it looks like it was true about the lions killing each other," Mateo commented while looking at the potatoes and Noah.

Noah didn't bother to offer them anything, since if they wanted to, they could even order a portion for themselves; it's not like they lacked money. As for Noah, it had been years since he had eaten potatoes without worrying about anything.

Eating too many potatoes was bad, in addition to having very little money to feed himself while he was a Blessed Rank F, and even after he started getting a lot of money, Noah avoided buying potatoes because he knew that if he had it available at home, he probably would eat them at every meal, which definitely wouldn't do him any good.

It wasn't long before his friends' dishes were served, which caused them to look away from Noah's fries that were almost running out. Noah was not concerned and while the waiter served the young people's dishes, he ordered another large portion, but this time covered with mozzarella cheese, as he said he wanted more consistency.

When his fries again arrived, Noah took a toothpick and pulled it towards him, making the cheese stretch out on the way, attracting the attention of the other boys, who at that moment even considered asking for a portion for themselves too, but as their plates were already full, they knew it would be a waste to order more food which would take away some of the flavor from the dishes that they were already enjoying so happily.

After the meal, Noah left the restaurant with a full belly and a satisfied smile while the other boys looked at him with a little anger because he practically made their pasta a little more embarrassing by only ordering French fries.

When they arrived at the hotel, Carlos and Noah went to their room while Mateo and Kevin decided to take a nap, as the trip had left them very tired.

Noah had already invited everyone to the Bar that Marcel had quoted, which everyone agreed to. There was nothing better than getting drunk the day before the championship. As the initial matches were easier, they wanted to take the opportunity to go crazy for drinks today, as the more the championship progressed, the more difficult the matches would be and the less recommended it would be to drink the day before.

"So, did you discover anything new?" Carlos asked Noah with an excited expression.

Noah knew what he was talking about, and without saying a single word, three pentagrams appeared on the floor of his room where three imps appeared.

Carlos looked at the imps quickly and didn't notice any difference between them initially. But when he started paying more attention to these little guys, he realized that each one had a peculiarity.

One of them had slightly brighter eyes than normal, the other one had slightly shinier claws, even in the dark, while the third had a slightly darker skin than the other two.

By the characteristics of the three, Carlos was only able to guess what one of them was doing. "Did that one in the middle develop any skills related to his claws?"

Without answering anything, Noah gave a mental command to the middle Imp, and his claws started to catch fire with a flame much hotter than Carlos was expecting. With a normal person's body he had to take a few steps back, since just by staying close to that flame he already felt that his skin was starting to hurt.

But Noah clearly noticed his slightly open mouth, indicating the clear astonishment he had when he saw the of that imp. Noah had nourished him well, and the monsters the imp killed were apparently also strengthening his ability.

"Your imps are becoming unique... You are apparently developing new species… Do you understand the potential of this?" Carlos said as he watched what was happening in front of him.

"Yes, I was also very excited when I found out what they do. Look," Noah said while ordering the other two imps to use their skills.

One of them teleported to Carlos' side, but his appearance showed that he got very tired after this teleportation, while the other went over and a flame on Carlos. Although different from what Carlos initially imagined, instead of that flame burning him, actually, it was more comfortable than anything he ever felt, even making his skin feel better.

"This... Noah, we're going to be very rich!" Carlos said excitedly.

Carlos was just as excited as Noah. That night, they decided that they would announce the imps after the championship. As they did not want to be recognized as the real suppliers of these imps, they would try to do this in a more anonymous way. So they would have to wait until the end of the championship for that.

Noah could already see his level had started at a high speed when he began renting the imps after the championship.
