Chapter 1398: Chapter 1398: Enna, Long Time No See Chapter 1398: Chapter 1398: Enna, Long Time No See Gazing out into the distance, the deep blue swimming pool and the vast ocean seemed to merge into one, creating a stunning tableau against the white clouds and blue sky.
One couldn't help but exclaim that it was truly devoid of humanity!
The manager explained that this villa was not normally available for reservations, and only members of the Lawrence Family could use it.
It amounted to having a monopoly on the resort's best viewpoints and landscapes, and they remained idly here all year round, never made available to guests even when unoccupied.
A villa like this one would cost at least over 1,500 to 3,000 dollars a day. One hundred days would come close to 300 thousand, and a year would be over 600 thousand dollars. Yet, the Lawrence Family left it vacant, unwilling to convert it into cash.
Enna Clark could not understand this practice.
However, she knew that Baron Lawrence had severe mysophobia, and given his picky nature, he probably couldn't stay in a room that had housed different people daily without renovating it entirely first.
In any case, she knew that Baron Lawrence was wealthy enough not to care about a loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. She relaxed a bit and opened the courtyard windows, standing by the infinity swimming pool to enjoy the magnificent sea view.
She had just stretched when, before she could take in a few more breaths of fresh air, the hotel manager approached her hesitantly and said, “Ms. Clark, may I ask if you know Lillian?”
“Lillian?” Enna Clark thought the name sounded familiar. After pausing for a moment, she remembered hearing the name in the lobby. It seemed to belong to a female star.
Although the Habsden Family also had interests in the entertainment industry, she was not familiar with its people and barely knew any artist's names.
Seeing her reaction, the manager knew that she probably didn't recognize the name, cursed his luck internally, but still plucked up the courage to explain, “She's an actress from a recent popular TV show. She said she knows you, that she's your cousin, and she asked me to give this to you.”
The manager handed her a note.
Enna Clark curiously took it.
Glancing down, she saw the note was scrawled in crooked handwriting: “Enna, it's me.”
The signature below was–Miranda Lewis!
Enna Clark pocketed the note, frowning slightly. “Is she outside?”
“Yes, she is.”
“I know her.”
“So… shall I let her in?”
Enna Clark thought for a moment and then declined, “No, I'll step out for a bit.”
A year ago in a Yluria Country hotel, Miranda Lewis had shown a great deal of interest in Baron Lawrence, trying to hover around him for several days.
She was good-natured but not foolish.
She knew Miranda Lewis had ulterior motives. She was no Mary Sue, and giving Miranda Lewis opportunities when she knew the latter harbored ill intentions was not something she would do.
“Alright.” The manager didn't know the full story, but he breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Ms. Lily is at the entrance.”
“Yes, I know.”
Enna Clark opened the door and went outside.
Indeed, outside the villa, Miranda Lewis was being held back by two security guards, pacing back and forth.
She wore a pearl-colored dress that flattered her complexion; plus, after spending over a year in the entertainment industry, she had picked up quite a bit of grace and posture. She looked much prettier than the last time Enna had seen her, and she had more presence.
At first glance, Enna Clark barely recognized her.
After all, Miranda Lewis used to prefer bright and heavy makeup, and her style of dressing was to have as many eye-catching details as possible.
Seeing Miranda Lewis in a light makeup and demure dress gave Enna Clark a sense of unfamiliarity.
“Enna!” While she may have found it unfamiliar, Miranda Lewis did not. Upon seeing Enna Clark come out, she immediately greeted her with a radiant smile, making anyone unaware think they had a great relationship.
