Like a Ray in My Night 138 Something Important to Tell Them

Ao Jing finally went over to the house where Kui Min and a few of the other female disciples were living. Knocking on her door, he gave her a bright smile when she opened. "Kui Min, I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Kui Min slightly raised her brows, feeling a bit funny about seeing this person in front of the door. While it was true that she would suspect him less than she would Yang Wu Huang if he came up to her, her feelings toward him were still not too positive. After all, he had been hanging around Yang Wu Huang a lot and it wasn't a secret how those people had treated both Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen. Naturally, she would feel apprehensive. "Senior martial brother Ao. What may I do for you?"

Ao Jing continued to smile and shook his head. "Actually, this isn't about what you can do for me. I actually came to give you some information that I thought you might want to know."

Kui Min felt even funnier hearing that. What kind of information might she need? "So … What this is about?"

"I remember that you were in Mei Chao Bing's group before this. And you seemed to be getting along with Yun Bei Fen very well, right? Now, they're supposed to go to the Zhen Yan Sect to deliver the information there. It's not quite sure how long it'll be until we see them again. You're probably sad about that."

Kui Min continued to look at him suspiciously. Since he was bringing up precisely these two people, she felt even more that there was something fishy about this. On the other hand, it was true though. Even when it had only been Gongsun Chen, Yuan Lei, and her, she had been quite happy. The two senior martial brothers hadn't treated her like she was just some accessory and instead let her deal with things on her own. Then, when Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen entered the group, she had had somebody she could talk a bit more with. That had been nice. It was much better than the current group she was in. So, yes, she did miss him. But she was pretty sure that this Ao Jing had some bad intentions. He just was that type of guy.

She kept quiet for a moment but then forced herself to smile. She didn't want to help him but she definitely wanted to help Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen. So she should try to find out as much as she could from Ao Jing and then let them know when they came back. "Oh? What might this be about?"

Ao Jing couldn't help but feel complacent when she stepped into this trap so easily. "Well, you were probably worried since they didn't have much time to prepare, right? Well, you don't have to worry anymore. I just heard that while they were supposed to leave as soon as possible, they decided to stay here a bit longer and will take until tomorrow to prepare.

"Thus, if you really want to, you can still go and visit them before they leave. I thought you'd appreciate knowing that. While it might not be too much of a problem for the others, Yun Bei Fen is still quite young and doesn't have much experience. He might have trouble dealing with things on the way."

Kui Min nodded as if she totally agreed with him while she inwardly scoffed. It might be true that Yun Bei Fen was young and didn't know much but he was going with the rest of his group, right? And one of these people was even his own fiance. Did this Ao Jing really believe that Mei Chao Bing would let anything happen to him? That was ridiculous! She'd really like to take a look at what was going on in these people's heads.

Even though she was less than happy with what she had to hear, Kui Min still gave still beamed at him. "It's very nice of you to think so much on my behalf, senior martial brother Ao. You're such a good person. I guess I should go and see them immediately then. Thank you again!"

Ao Jing nodded and didn't try to hold her back. "Yes, you should go and make sure that they've prepared enough. Maybe encourage them a little as well. I'm sure that Yun Bei Fen would be very happy about that."

Kui Min nodded, then closed the door behind her, and rushed off, leaving him there. She had no idea what it might be that they were planning but maybe Mei Chao Bing and the others would be able to figure it out when she went over and told them. Anyway, it also couldn't hurt to go and see them. Since they had changed groups, they hadn't been able to see each other much for the last few days.

Kui Min soon arrived at the courtyard of Elder Baili's house but hesitated in front of the door. She was just here to see Yun Bei Fen and Mei Chao Bing but … Since this was also where the Elder lived, maybe she should go in to greet him as well? But then again, he might also feel disturbed if she came by without actually wanting anything. She couldn't do that either.

Taking a moment to convince herself that it would be alright to just go and see Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen, she finally took a deep breath and stepped into the courtyard, only now realizing that she didn't know which room Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen were in anyway.

Uh … She probably couldn't just knock on every door? She hesitated for a moment longer but then just cleared her throat and called out. "Senior martial brother Mei? Junior martial brother Yun?"

Inside the room, Mei Chao Bing looked up from where he had been sitting to go over the map once again. He went over to the door and raised his brows when he saw Kui Min. "Junior martial sister Kui, what may we do for you?" He motioned behind him where Yun Bei Fen was also running over when he heard his name. "Would you like to come in?"

Kui Min nodded eagerly and then glanced around, making sure that nobody was there before she rushed over to the two of them. "There's something I have to tell you." She lowered her voice as if she was really afraid that somebody could be eavesdropping. "I'm sure that this could be important."

Mei Chao Bing raised his brows again and then stepped to the side to let her in. Whatever it was, it couldn't hurt to listen to her explain.
