Chapter 12: Sudden Rise of Power

Base of the North Heaven Knights, third conference room.

"Sorry, I'm late….." Arthur paused, and was startled by the group of people in front of him, "….what the…..?"

In the center of the conference room was a huge table. There was a large group of high ranked knights around the table, no less than seven serve as Staff Officers with the rank of Gaia Knights. They were serious and seemed to conduct a very important meeting.

"Excuse me…… I've came to the wrong room…., pardon me." The youth Arthur quickly retreated backwards.

"Where are you going?" A huge man in front of the door blocked the youth's path. As he walked backwards, Arthur clumsily hit the huge man.

The youth turned around and looked back at the huge man blocking his path, surprised and yet very annoyed. This person was none other than the commander and the head of the North Heaven Knights Grand Duke Leodegrance.

"….is this another of your jokes?" Arthur asked in low voice.

"It's not a joke. In fact, just go inside and sit! So many people are waiting for you. Sit down and listen to me politely." Grand Duke Leodegrance pushed Arthur.

The youth reluctantly entered the conference room and took a sit while avoiding the gazes of everyone. The youth may have no fear fighting against monster, but at this time he felt restrained. He kept his mouth shut.

Arthur did not forget his current identity. He was nothing. he was just a servant bought from a slaver. In front of these high privileged people, he knew he was just a lowly servant.

He never belonged in this place. He knew that he may never belong in this place —— for various reasons.

Arthur smelled the reeking scent of alcohol.

The knights here did not say anything, they merely looked at Arthur with anticipation, it seemed they had made a decision long beforehand. This meeting was only a superficial form.

Generally speaking, knights were required to pass very rigorous trials at each promotional level; no one can be promoted without a trial. Arthur’s sudden promotion from a servant to a Silver Knight was equivalent to a three-rank jump. This was an unprecedented promotion.

“This lowly person doen’t want to be a knight.” Arthur replied firmly yet coldly, in the face of such a great temptation he still did not care: “What I want is to become a swordsman. I have no pleasure in being bounded by the rules of the knights, I want to exist to be strongest.”

"But don't you originally belong to the knights?" The Grand Duke asked in totally disbelief.

The knights came and shook hands with the youth and signed the official documents. As some spoke words of congratulations, Arthur only admired politely. it was not hard to complete the signature and the crowd immediately left the conference hall.

"He is a monster." The Chief Of Staff Cameron whispered to Grand Duke Leodegrance, "Do you really have to deal with such a monster? What a dirty deal."

Black Iron Knight Richard Leodegrance lurked in the corner of his window when he learned about Arthur's promotion.

The little servant whom Richard had always looked down on, actually went up three ranks and now had climbed above his own head.

How hard was it to accept this fact? Richard's face was dark as ink.

If he can, he really wanted to strangle his father. He wanted to strangle that crazy drunk old man.
