Life As a Servant 32 Chapter 32 : Suicide

When she saw them pause and turn toward her, the manager became so ecstatic and she continued begging, totally disregarding her status or the spectating parents and workers. Were she to act arrogant in front of Angelica, god knows what will happen tomorrow, if not today. Heck! It wouldn't be surprising to find herself jobless and then homeless. The chef was preparing the dinner, the man of the house was absent and Jasmine was nowhere to be seen. Apparently, after she ate lunch, she returned to her room, accompanied by the loyal Bin, of course.

The two continued playing without noticing the quickly passing time. Only when Hyue knocked on the door and interrupted them did they realize how late it was.

Jasmine was informed of her mother's return, so she dragged Bin with her. He didn't object as Mina was with the madam and he was quite curious about the kindergarten issue.

The two pairs soon met each other in the dining room. The little girl happily jumped in her brother's arms, giggling and hugging him with her petite hands. Bin softly caressed her hair and said

"Did you have fun?"

"En!"

Mina brightly smiled while nodding her head. Angelica also smiled as she heard Mina's response, her gaze becoming much gentler. That soft gaze of hers soon changed after seeing the unkempt appearance of Jasmine, whose hair resembled a ghost.

"Why are you like this? Go tidy yourself then come to the dining room."

Although she tried to act angry, Angelica's tone was betrayed her intentions.

The black-haired girl who was wearing a pajama(since it was more comfortable, or so she said to Bin), chuckled and retorted

"Why bother? Mom, I promised you to take care of my appearance only when I go out!"

The woman sighed and shook her head in disappointment before saying to Mina

She expected an immediate approval, however, Bin politely refused:

"I'm sorry, madam, but we have to go back home."

Angelica frowned but didn't insist, she just nodded her head.

"What? You're planning to return to that run down place? It's disgusting and too small! Plus, you're my servant for 24/7."

Hearing the unruly girl talk, Bin forced a smile since her mother is here and said

"I still have things to do. Moreover, it's unreasonable to accompany you twenty-four hours a day."

Bin greatly withheld himself from cursing at the girl or saying anything disrespectful. With a hand on her hips and a displeased expression, Jasmine retorted

"What about finishing the game?"

"That will have to wait."

Angelica, who already walked far away, paused for a second as she heard the beginning of their conversation. She only halted her steps for a split second before disappearing from the hall.

Jasmine was stubborn and refused to let Bin leave the manor.

Nevertheless, he ignored her loud rambling and left only to be escorted by Jasmine's driver, who was tasked to drive home since it was far away.

Unlike last time, the driver took a relatively normal car. Well, it's considered normal for Jasmine and the rest but it was still one of the latest BMW series.

The usually silent driver warmly welcome the obedient Mina, who properly greeted him. He joked with her while driving them home, he seemed to be fond of children, or so thought Bin.

Bin was gazing outside the window, totally absent-minded, while Mina and the driver talked with each other. As they were passing a large bridge that connected the Northern District to the center of the city, Bin spotted something strange.

At first, he thought was hallucinating but after staring at it a second time, he became flabbergasted. He urged the driver to immediately halt the car, which he did, then hastily opened the door and darted toward one of the bridge's edges.

The car stopped in the middle of the road, which was empty but his actions still alerted the driver and his little sister. They didn't witness what he saw so they thought he was crazy at first, more so when he unhesitatingly jumped from the bridge, causing Mina to loudly shout and run toward him.

Fortunately, the driver held the little girl but he was still confused.

Bin, who jumped from the high bridge, quickly fell in the deep and cold waters. He wasn't attempting to suicide but wanted to jump after a silhouette which jumped a few seconds before him.

He dived deep underwater and despite the unclear vision and the dark sky, which made things worse, he still managed to locate the suicidal person.

It was actually a short-haired girl with a frail body, she didn't attempt to swim and simply let her body sink deeper, clearly wanting to die.

When she felt someone hold her waist and go upwards, she tried to struggle and break free but to no avail. Very soon, Bin and the girl appeared from within the waters, making the driver relieved.

With a bit of difficulty, Bin dragged the girl's body to the shore and inspected her.

She coughed a bit of water but wasn't unconscious as he managed to save her before she drowned.

The girl was in a daze, still processing what happened. She was about to die yet she showed no reaction. Although it was summer, night time was cold, more so after diving into this freezing water.

Her body reacted to the coldness and began trembling yet the girl remained emotionless.

Bin recognized before she could even jump from the bridge, it was actually one of Jasmine's friends!

The one who had several cuts in her wrist. He accidentally saw them when they went to the amusement park but didn't question her as it wasn't his problem.

He never thought she'd try to kill herself. As far as he knew, she hails from a prosperous and rich family so she has everything in life, however, she may be suffering from something, something that pushed her to suicide, more than one time, at that.
