Prologue: The Beginning of the Day Chapter 2: Chapter 1: What is this?

There was no light inside the rift. However, there was only a feeling of falling. Tatsuro stared at the endless darkness while hugging Ai. Suddenly, after some time had passed, light came from below. Upon closer inspection, they noticed that there was something similar to the rift that first swallowed them.

"Is that the exit?"

Beginning to think for some time that maybe they'll be falling in the darkness till eternity, Ai seemed relieved, though Tatsuro did not expect that there would be such a decent exit in this weird place.

"Time to get out!"

But this didn't mean they had any way to break the current situation. The two jumped out into the rift and was sucked into the light. The next moment, as they were previously falling down, they were thrown out sideways.

"Ha?!? Eh??!?"

A sound come out of their mouths as the scene they are viewing had no correlation with the scene they were originally from. The view was very dark as the sun had nearly completely set. There was a long white gravel road in front of them, a forest on the left, a clear river on their right, a forest beyond that river. Clearly, this place had no relationship to where they were supposed to be

And there was another thing, both of them were floating in the in the air at the moment. That being said, the distance to the ground was a little less than a meter. It was unlikely that the fall would've caused death, but at this speed, failing the land and hitting the gravel road would have cause a considerable amount of pain and damage.

Tatsuro decided to take action. First, he took off his backpack in the air and gave instructions the instructions to Ai. Then he dropped his backpack on the floor.
