Chapter 1181: Chapter 1181: The Empty Fort Strategy Chapter 1181: Chapter 1181: The Empty Fort Strategy Shadow Gate under the shroud of night.
Danger lurked everywhere.
Julius Reed could ascertain that these people were definitely not here for him.
If they were indeed here to trouble him, they wouldn't have been so late to realize it.
Moreover, it seemed like there was no one in the Shadow Gate's backyard at all.
All forces were likely on alert at the front gate.
With this in mind, he headed straight to the room where the head of the household resided.
During the recent fight, Julius Reed had caught a glimpse of what seemed to be a surveillance room in the house.
After reaching the head's room, he pushed open a door.
Indeed.
In a small room of ten square meters, there was a large display screen.
On it were the surveillance feeds from various locations.
Through the surveillance footage, Julius Reed found a row of people in black, standing at the entrance.
And the disciples of Shadow Gate stood like they were facing a formidable enemy, blocking the entrance.
Both sides were tense, with swords drawn and crossbows tight.
The situation seemed ready to erupt at any moment.
“Devlin…”
Looking at the people in black at the entrance, Julius Reed could only think of Devlin.
Apart from him, no one else would dare to challenge Shadow Gate so openly.
Those people from the martial world were currently in Cook's City, worried about how to leave.
They couldn't possibly make it to Shadow Gate.
Leland Will and the vice manager had died by his hand, Julius Reed decided to lure the enemy into the pot!
He immediately took out his phone and called Templeton Lena.
“Mad Dragon, how's the situation over there?”
Upon receiving the call, Templeton Lena asked excitedly.
“Bring your men and enter from the backyard immediately.
Remember to change into Shadow Gate clothes.
We will wait for Devlin in the great hall!”
After Julius Reed finished speaking, he walked over to the clothes rack in the Shadow Gate head's room and took down a black robe.
Then, he headed towards the great hall.
Shadow Gate.
Headquarters main entrance.
Hundreds of Shadow Gate disciples held their weapons, eyeing the black-clad people intently.
“We're all our own people, no need for this.”
Devlin, with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, stood in front of the Shadow Gate headquarters, leisurely said, “You know, I used to be friends with your head.
Back in the days at the Seven Clouds Academy, he was my boss.”
No one responded.
The disciples of Shadow Gate remained silent.
As if facing a great enemy!
“Why so serious?”
Seeing that no one was taking the bait, Devlin coughed awkwardly, took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, and walked forward.
“Stop right there!”
Whoosh!
A projectile whizzed by, landing a meter in front of Devlin.
“Take one more step, and you'll be killed on the spot!”
The disciples of Shadow Gate shouted out loud.
“Forget it then.”
Devlin shrugged his shoulders and tossed the pack of cigarettes on the ground, then asked aloud, “Can I have a word with your head?”
No one responded.
“Fine.
Then I'm leaving.”
He turned away awkwardly, then suddenly shouted, “Attack!”
Whoosh!
The cigarette pack he had thrown on the ground earlier burst into intense light!
In this pitch-black night, it momentarily blinded the disciples of Shadow Gate!
The Cyber members, however, were already wearing protective goggles.
Almost the moment Devlin issued the command, they rushed forward heedlessly!
The sound of projectile weapons erupted chaotically.
The blinded disciples of Shadow Gate couldn't see clearly and triggered their weapons instinctively,
Many fell by the hands of their brothers' own weapons.
A few members of Cyber were hit, but supported by their steel will, they still charged forward like madmen.
Half a minute later.
Bodies littered the ground.
Utter chaos.
Blood, spilled all over the place.
All hundred or so disciples guarding the main gate of Shadow Gate lay dead.
Killed with a single strike.
“Let's go see an old friend,” Devlin said as he pulled out a cigarette from his pocket.
A blood-soaked cigarette.
“Eh!” He hesitated, then threw the cigarette on the ground.
It was dirty.
It could no longer be lit.
“Let's go.”
Devlin looked at the pack of cigarettes in his hand, soiled with blood water, shook his head, and threw the whole pack aside.
He kept muttering to himself, “Sin!
Oh, what a sin!”
The main gate of the Shadow Gate headquarters was particularly heavy.
It took a large number of poisonous eggs for the Cyber members to knock it down.
The dust had settled.
It was an exceptionally broad road.
“Damn, they're loaded!”
Devlin couldn't help but exclaim, as he walked with his hands behind his back at the forefront.
“Mr.
Devlin, be careful of an ambush!”
A Cyber member warned aloud.
Shadow Gate was strange.
There was not a soul on this road!
From the moment they appeared until they entered the Shadow Gate base.
They had only encountered resistance at the entrance.
But those hundred-plus people were hardly elite.
They were just ordinary disciples of Shadow Gate.
Shadow Gate didn't dominate the area with just those people by the door.
But until now, they hadn't seen anyone else!
Such a vast Shadow Gate, deserted!
“What's there to fear!”
Devlin was rather nonchalant, “Trust me, the leader of Shadow Gate isn't someone ordinary people can compare with.
I'm here today just to have a casual chat with him.
By the way, have your people moved out yet?”
“We've already dispatched people to the addresses you provided, Mr.
Devlin.
At the moment, we have captured ten people!
Ten Divine Dragon Tripods, they're on their way over,” Cyber members replied, keeping their eyes watching vigilantly around them.
Where had the Shadow Gate's people gone?
By the time they reached the great hall's entrance, they still hadn't seen any other members of Shadow Gate.
“Mr.
Devlin, something seems amissaEUR
”
Cyber members voiced their concern again.
“It's just an empty fort strategy.”
Devlin's face was brimming with confidence.
Before coming here, he had done his research.
To protect the Divine Dragon Tripod, a large number of Shadow Gate members had left.
The headquarters had long been an empty shell.
But the more dangerous a place, the safer it is.
The rest of the people were being captured by Cyber outside.
Devlin had come here himself, not wanting to miss the place most likely to have the Divine Dragon Tripod.
Creak…
As they reached the entrance of the great hall, the iron gate slowly opened.
“Be careful!”
Cyber members raised their weapons, on alert as they looked inside the great hall.
Even Devlin paused cautiously in his stride.
This wasn't supposed to happen…
There shouldn't be anyone here!
Had he miscalculated?
“Mr.
Devlin!”
At the top of the great hall, on a throne fashioned from steel.
A voice from a figure in black spoke out, “Please, come in!”
“What do we do?”
Everyone's gaze turned towards Devlin.
A dragon's den fraught with danger.
“Let's go!”
Devlin hesitated briefly, then steeled his resolve, striding to the front!
If it was an empty fort strategy, he must not back down!
When the group entered the great hall, they found many Shadow Gate disciples standing on either side.
And in the center, a man in black was seated.
“Boss?”
Devlin inquired tentatively.
But there was no response.
His Cyber members behind him stood on guard, their weapons aimed at the Shadow Gate disciples.
“You're all here.
Why the silence?”
Devlin asked again.
Odd, very odd.
Whoosh!
Just then, the iron door behind them slammed shut!
And the man on the throne slowly went down the steps.
“Devlin, long time no see.”
Julius Reed took off his black cloak, smiling at Devlin in front of him.
“Today, I want to see if beneath this mask, you still have the face from those years ago!”
With those words, he picked up the sword of great twilight, closing the distance step by step.
