Lillie's ears refused to intake another sound . Her eyes were blank as she slowly walked away, not hearing Ethan's complete words .

" . . . Beat her and show how much capable of a man I am for her . Because if I can't even beat her then that means I'm incompetent, I'm not worthy . "

[You like her that much?] His father spoke through the other side of the line .

"I don't like her . . . . I already love her . "

[Hahaha! That's my boy! You definitely are my son, so much like me! Alright, I'll help in every way to catch the girl of your dreams . ]

"Thanks, Dad, you're the best . "

[I know, that's why you're here . ]

"Urgh . . . please stop making inappropriate jokes . I'll see you soon, bye . "

[Bye, good luck!]

Turning off the phone, Ethan had a grin painted on his face .

He'll be a man who can stand by a woman of her caliber's side . He wanted to stand beside her with equal strength and power so that he will not embarrass her if that happy day will come .

"Lillie, wait for me . "

Opening her eyes, Lillie shivered as she felt the water turned cold . She quickly stood up and wrapped the thick and warm bathrobe around her body while grabbing a small towel for her hair .

As she came out of the bathroom, she was frozen on her spot .

Ethan was standing at the center of her room, his eyes widen and darken's immediately as soon as he saw Lillie coming out of the bathroom with a wet bathrobe that sticked to her alluring body .

The way her wet hair made her look so seductive that Ethan's adam's apple came up and down .

With a cold expression, Lillie's brows furrowed and eyes narrowed . "What are you doing here?"

Ethan's throat went dry as he cannot come up with words to reply . "I-uh . . . "

"Hm?"

"D-uh . . . d-dinner . . . " A single, audible word was stated . Ethan had a hard time uttering something as he cannot remove his eyes away from her .

"I'll be down soon, get out . "

Finally snapping out of his trance, Ethan noticed Lillie's flustered face .

'That can't be right . Lillie would never blush in embarrassment even if she'd walk naked . '

"What are you doing?" Lillie was expecting to see Ethan going out of her room . Instead, he boldly strode towards her with a serious expression .

Lillie unconsciously took a step back and covered her chest protectively .

"Mr Li, don't be foolish! Don't you dare take another step—ah!"

Ethan grabbed both of her wrist and pinned them against the wall . Ethan felt his blood boil at the alluring expression she's showing to him .

"Mr Li!" Lillie gritted her teeth . She was feeling uncomfortably hot . Her body was sweating despite the cold bath she had just moments ago .

Ethan ignored her, his face coming closer towards her .

Lillie's mind went blank . Is he . . . going to kiss her again?

Lillie subconsciously closed her eyes out of instinct . Instead of feeling a pair of soft lips assaulting hers, she felt something cool touched her forehead .

"You're hot . " He muttered .

Lillie was confused . "Huh?"

Ethan coughed and reconstructed his sentence . "What I meant is that you have a fever . " Gently letting go of her wrists, Ethan suddenly carried her, effortlessly, towards her bed .

"Did you stay too long on the bathtub?" He guessed while rampaging through her drawer for her pajamas .

Lillie felt like he was intruding her privacy but, she didn't had the mood to scold him . She was feeling hot .

"I fell asleep on the bathtub . " She didn't knew what came into her mind to tell him that .

Ethan stopped, he looked at her in disbelief and anger . "No wonder you caught a cold!"

God! This woman is unbelievable! Does she not care for her health at all?!

Lillie frowned, now it appeared like it was her who did some injustice . Was it not him who barged into a lady's room?

Was it not him who suddenly harassed her while wearing nothing under this wet bathrobe?!

Why was she the bad guy?

"Here, quickly change into these . " Finally found some thick pajamas, Ethan gave them to her .

"I'll wait outside while you change . Call me if you're done, alright?" Maybe because of the fever, Lillie was extremely obedient .
