Xing spent the next few days peacefully in her Manor and as usual visited her father every other day . She asked Seiren to conduct investigation on the Fire Kingdom and find out how much they are involved in the new drug that has appeared in their Eastern Borders . She sent a letter to Ayane to know how much they have investigated about that drug too .

Xing ignored the letters the Emperor sent on behalf of Weiye and went on finishing the jade hairpin she was making . The two years she was wandering in the Sky Kingdom, she spent a lot of time in carriage rides and as she was bored and missed Chenglei a lot, she used her jade carving skills she learnt from Old Tong . She wanted to make something for Chenglei when she meets him back and since she had no skills in cooking, embroidery or painting, she decided to test her skills with jade carving .

It took her two years to carve a perfect hairpin that had a wolf in the head . She used the best quality white jade she could find and it had a small green vein which she perfectly aligned to be the eyes .

Xing looked at the finished hairpin that looked pretty awesome . . . The snowy white wolfhead with the green eyes really seemed a perfect symbolism of Chenglei . She did make it thinking about him afterall . She decided to gift that for him for his birthday in a month .

She safely kept the hairpin in her drawer and her father's arrival was announced . Her father rarely visited her and Xing was pleasantly surprised as she greeted her father .

AoTian was still grieving for Xu mama and Xing told him her speculation that Xu Mama might have found out what Takano was upto and maybe that's why she was driven out and her brother sent someone to kill her just to be safe .

AoTian was smart too and he could understand what Xing meant and he seemed like he wanted to tell her something too .

"The Empress is visiting me daily begging me to ask you to have tea with her . She brings some eatables everytime she comes and I've been avoiding eating it till now", he said after she forced him to tell .

Xing let out a snort . "Is she threatening me with you?", she rubbed her temples .

The nerves on her to force me using my father! Is that woman telling me that she'd hurt my father if I don't comply with her? She is blaming me for her father's death and so she threatens to hurt my father? Surely, father, as the Prime Minister can refuse the Empress only to an extent . With the Emperor by her side, she cannot be ignored for long .

"Tell her I'll meet her day after tomorrow", Xing told her father as her eyes shone with confidence .

AoTian tried to change her mind even though he knew it was futile and he asked her to be careful . Xing asked her father to send her brother and his family to live in another Manor since that would enable his protection but he refused .

The day Xing was leaving for the meet up with Chu Weiye, she received a letter from Chenglei saying he'd be back in a week .

"He wrote this letter four days back and so he'll be back in three days!", a smile spread in her face making her face flushed as she hugged the letter . Things have been good between them for some time and she was ecstatic .

Xiao Mei who was doing her hair saw the beautiful smile in her mistress' face and felt happy .

Xing wrapped herself in the wolf fur cloak, Chenglei left for her before he left for the East and set out for the palace alone .

As she reached the gates, she was properly welcomed by the maids of the Empress and was brought respectfully to the inner palace, much to the surprise of Xing .

" From tomorrow no one will respect you! ", her sneering voice brought Xing to reality and she dodged the box in time but the red rouge spilled on her face and some powder even got into her eyes and nose .

"Chu Weiye, Ah, Chu Weiye! You've successfully brought your destruction!", Xing said wiping the blood red powder off her face . While she was wiping she didn't notice that a maid came and picked the box from behind Xing and threw it behind Weiye .

"You'll be the one destroyed . . . Watch how a woman successfully brings down the Divine Ruler", Weiye said gritting her teeth in a low tone and Xing could hear the Emperor's footsteps from behind herself .

"Your Majesty!", Weiye's tone got softer and she spoke like her throat is closing, " I guess her highness is still not willing to forgive me . . . . . I sincerely apologised but . . . . . ", she choked as tears filled her face and she looked pitiful .

"Mingxia! What . . . ", the Emperor tried to ask Xing but he noted a blood red mark in her face, "Is that blood?", he tried to wipe it but Xing swatted his hands away .

"It's rouge . . . Her highness got angered by me and threw it at me . . . But . . . ", Chu Weiye with her watery eyes tried to explain but seeing the Emperor's fierce gaze, she froze .

"The wind blew hard and the powder ended up . . . And the box . . . . ", she didn't finish the sentence to make it more believable that she was scared and that she was actually bullied and pointed at the strong porcelain box behind her . That box, if landed on someone would have made them bleed .

" Go home, Mingxia! ", the Emperor said plainly not even looking at her and Xing smiled shaking her head and turned to leave .

She felt alone!

"Come with me!", the Emperor's concerned voice was heard from behind Xing and all she could do was smile bitterly as she hastened her steps .

Chenglei, come back soon! I have to tell you a lot! Please believe me when I explain everything!

Xing walked back out of the inner palace dejected . She wasn't that worried about the Emperor not trusting her but Weiye's words had stirred her .

How will Chenglei react when he learns about that day? Will he trust me like before when I say I never slept with the Emperor? Or will he doubt me and throw me away saying he don't want a woman who slept with his brother?

Out relationship has become better just now and will there be problems again? Please . . . . Please trust me Chenglei!

As she walked back, she could feel her strength leaving her body as if someone has tied her hands and knees together . But she pushed hard and as she reached her carriage, she could feel her eyes darkening and before she could compose herself she felt someone covering her eyes with a dark cloth and her world darkened .
