With his shoes still wet from the snow outside, Chenglei went inside their courtyard that seemed awfully quiet for someplace where his wife is supposedly having a baby.

'If Xing is still in labour, her voice should be heard, if the baby is born already, the cries of the baby should be heard. Why is this awfully quiet?'

"Congratulations, your Highness, the Consort gave birth to a healthy Prince. The Consort is currently.... ", she approached him trying to show him the baby but Chenglei was in no mood to look at his son and dashed inside the bedroom, almost pushing Xiao Mei . If not for for Lin Mubai holding his wife, she'd have kissed the floor along with the baby in her hands.

"Is this...", Lin Mubai who wasn't surprised by his Brother Wolf's actions, looked at the bundle where a little baby pink as a plum blossom was kept. His brother won't care about anything else until he takes a look at his Consort.

Xing in his embrace, could sense that he just came in first to see her and is yet to see their son. But after going through that excruciating pain that made her want to not deliver the baby and put him back in her belly, her husband's gentle hug and caresses did help her a lot and she wanted to go to sleep...

"I almost regretted not having you by my side", she said as he brought her to the bathroom to wash up. She knew even if she was tired, she won't be able to sleep before washing up. Everything was already readied by her maids and he sent everyone out since he wanted to do everything for her himself.

After getting her dressed, he tried to pick her up and she opted to walk by herself. It was not a great distance walking to her bedroom and she didn't like feeling meek.

Chenglei was not pleased by her not accepting his help and also she couldn't walk as she was too tired and in the end she ended up walking supported entirely by Chenglei.

All her life, she had to be strong because she had no choice. Like a cat who secluded itself to lick it's wounds and heal itself, she'd just try to be alone everytime something happens.

And just like that both had different views of the past.Xing appreciated the thought of Chenglei, wishing for her best and him trying his best to support her, even from apart was enough. His thoughts were enough for her and she mostly didn't feel like he abandoned her. But for him, he wished to be physically by her side.

Seeing her still walking, he picked her up.

"Come on! I can walk by myself", she grunted.

"I know you can. But Xing, you just gave birth. You are allowed to take rest for a week or so. You can do everything by yourself after you are healed. No one will take anything from you", he kissed her lips not letting her refute him and placed her in the bed. He didn't know what they did but their room was filled with a pleasant smell by now.

Xing who felt relaxed after washing, sat leaning on the headboard while Chenglei placed a cushion to support her back.

"Does it hurt?", he asked placing his hand in her belly that still was big.

"Ah, it's not much", she smiled, "And you still haven't taken a look at our son...", she looked at him accusingly and only then Chenglei remembered that his wife went through all of this suffering just to get that bugger out.

"Yeah... I will. Just rest...do you want something? Soup or... ", he wanted to make her comfortable first.

"I can hear my father outside. Li Shusai looks exactly like me and my father will definitely kidnap him", Xing said and watched Chenglei's face getting pale.

"Really?", Xing smirked, " Which one of your guard has the guts to offend me by raising his weapon against my father?", she raised her eyebrows.

Seeing Chenglei running out of the room in panic, she chuckled but a wave of pain stuck her and with a small grunt she leaned back.

"Your father really tried to leave with the baby! He didn't even visit you and tried to steal our baby, Xing!", Chenglei was plenty surprised as he entered the room with their baby in his hand and Xinxin in tow.

Xinxin ran and sat beside Xing and Chenglei held the baby carefully as he sat and took a good look at the baby.

" He does not look like you... He is all wrinkly and... Well, he has your eyes... And hair... But you are pretty, the most prettiest. I love you Xing! ", Chenglei said and Xing saw a single tear falling from his eyes.

She could say that he was really happy and filled with emotion and he is trying to be modest.

"We made him, Chenglei... He is ours. Part of you and me! Ours! ", Xing shed tears of joy too. She were times when she had thought, there would never be a day when she could give birth to a child .

But it happened! And I have a child of my own, I carried for ten months!
