After dinner Xing felt extremely tired and wanted to go to bed immediately and for some reason Chenglei followed her to sleep too. His hair was dripping wet after his bath and she helped him dry it and he, with a plastered apologetic face explained her that since there is only one courtyard, there is only one bed and since he felt tired, he wanted to sleep in the bed too.

This guy! He planned this right from the start, didn't he? Xing got furious. But she didn't want to miss this chance to sleep together either.

"Let's talk in bed", he smirked and before she composed herself swept her off her feet and carried her to the bed.

"You seem pretty used to handling women, Lord Li! ", she buried her head in his shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his neck as she was carried.

"You'll have to believe me, you're the only woman I've been with, ever! ", his low voice reverberated in her ears, "I bet Lin Mubai blabbered everything about me to you"

She chuckled making bursts of her warm breath reach his neck making his entire body hot.

"You two are one pair of superior and subordinate.... How would a loyal person like him say a single word against you? He worships you!", she teased him.

Chenglei was sad but took a deep breath and placed her gently on the bed.

Xing noticed a flute on the side table and picked it up. She remembered Chenglei telling her that he plays the flute and she wanted to listen to him.

"Play it for me...", she looked with her eyes fluttering with expectations and Chenglei could not refuse her.

Xing leaned on the headboard listening to the soothing and mesmerising song played in the flute and she felt the same way when she used to sleep in her mother's lap and before she knew it, she fell asleep.

In the middle of the night she was awakened by the strong scent of her man which would have been usual in the past but now everything seemed to be a privilege for her.

When she opened her eyes the bare chest of her man came to her view and she felt like she's home after a long time. Her head was resting in his arms and she looked up to see Chenglei sleeping deeply and she just admired him for a while.

She traced her finger just above his forehead and nose not touching him and his thin lips looked so inviting she wanted to kiss them.

Shall I? Ah! What if he wakes up?

Xing took deep breaths to stop herself from attacking the sleeping man and tried to remove his arms from under her fearing it might hurt after she rested on it for a while.

But before she succeeded, she felt her waist being pulled closer to him, "Stop squirming and go back to sleep!", he spoke in a hoarse voice probably because he woke up from a deep sleep and her forehead pressed in his form chest.

"Chenglei", she called him like she used to call him maybe because she felt nostalgic in his embrace like everything happened between them that day didn't happen and he still remembered her and loved her.

"Mmm",Chenglei's grip got a bit tight by her way of addressing. He really loved it if she called him that.

"I told you about the promise right?", she tugged his robes that were losely wrapped around him probably purposefully to seduce her.

"What is it?", he felt his heart beat skipping by her insistence on bringing up the topic. But it seemed like he cannot escape.

" Stay away from the gods, please!", she wrapped her arm around his neck sensing his heartbeat rising and placed her nose in the crook of his neck sniffing his scent. His scent always calmed her.

" They may look attractive and their power may be great but... Its all vanity and won't bring any actual good... They have terrible personalities",she placed his lips on his chest but didn't move any further.

"That's what you wanted to say to me?", Chenglei was relieved. Ah! The scare she gave me!

"It is important", she lifted her head to look at his eyes glistening in the lighting beside the bed. "Promise me"

Chenglei looked at her, clearly worried with a frown line between her eyes and he caressed her brows to calm her, "Okay, I promise. Even if the gods try to engage with me, I'll ignore them", he raised his head a little and kissed the tip of her nose. "Now sleep without worrying", he caressed the back of her head and his voice was gentle as the breeze.

"Fine then", Xing's lips curved up to a smile and she lied back on his arms and she leaned to kiss his Adam's apple that looked so beautiful in that lighting and went back to sleep immediately as her mind got cleared of the worry.

Chenglei on the other hand, startled by her sudden kiss felt his body warming up.

I never should have insisted on sleeping together!

He cursed himself and with every breath he took, her scent made him go mad with lust and he controlled himself from going berserk like the other day lest she brands him as a perverted sexual offender. He tried hard to sleep the entire night but he could not and the woman in his arms was sleeping peacefully and her scent made him feel more and more horny.

But... Isn't it her fault by provoking me too? Shouldn't she take a little responsibility?

When Xing woke up early in the morning, she felt an overwhelming assault of the alluring scent of her man and she felt like her hand being clasped inside his hand but her hand was holding something too.

Xing became wide awake realising what's going on and she felt Chenglei's heartbeat racing as her forehead was pressed hard on his chest and his breathing was heavy and warm as it fell on the crown of her head. His hands were guiding her hand holding his thick long stick as his hips moved and it felt like he was suppressing his movements not to wake her.

Xing felt her entire face blushed up as she definitely did not expect she'd wake up to this. But she didn't mind it either.

Should I pretend to sleep or should I wake up and actually help him?

Xing was in a serious Dilemma as to what her next step should be and in the end she decided to pretend to sleep. If it was before, she'd have been bold and helped him but now it would be better to pretend to sleep.

The familiar hot thing in her hands made her remember their first time together and her body started heating up too.

Okay! Calm down, Xing! Now is not the time!

As Xing tried hard to suppress the heat in her body, she felt Chenglei's actions pausing.

Eh! Why is he stopping when he hasn't finished yet?

"You are awake, aren't you?", his voice was high pitched and filled with shame. Just now he felt like her hands squeezed him... Could it be his imagination?

Xing let out a deep sigh realising she's caught and tried to look at him when he pressed her head onto his chest.

"This.... This happened because of you..... I'm not sorry for what I did!", he shouted suddenly and the next moment jumped out of the bed and ran out of the room without even turning back.

Xing sat up in the bed looking all dishevelled and looked at her hand.

Why did he run away? I'd have helped him finish!

She chucked burying her head in her knees.
