Xing looked around to see the surprised look of the gods around her and wondered what that was about.

Maybe, I wasn't expected here?

But before she asked the next question, the Heavenly Emperor stood up from his throne and Fei Lian by his side half-knelt followed by all the gods in the hall including Mazu by her side.

'Okay! Is killing Old Rong that big a deal?', Xing looked around and saw Mazu gritting her teeth unwilling to kneel but still had a smirk on her face.

Xing felt something amiss looking at her and decided to leave this place immediately when the Heavenly Emperor announced,

"Behold! The Prince of Heavens!"

That was followed by a loud horn and the chanting of the kneeling gods,

"All hail the Prince of Heavens! May ye unify the heavens and bring prosperity to our realm!"

Xing stood there frozen for a good minute when they repeated the chant three times and some celestial maidens flying above her dropped flower petals on her.

So... What is this about?

Xing's eyes darted to Fei Lian who is the only person whom she trusted among the gods and he looked back at her with a smile that showed his pride but Xing didn't fail to notice the deep worry in his eyes too.

Whatever! Her heart told her to flee!

With the chants being over, everyone looked at Xing as if they are looking forward for her acceptance speech or something of the sorts.

"Eh... Um...! Look..., Your Majesty, the supremely super and Magnonimously awesome Emperor and Lord of Heavens... I... Did what you asked! Old Rong... Dead!", she stuck her tongue out tilting her head to the side, "Gone! Won't ever come back. So let me be free as you've promised before! Thank you in advance! ", she gave a deep bow and grinned showing all her teeth.

"What are you going to say to those who are kneeling?", the Heavenly Emperor asked raising his eyebrows taking his seat. With one of his feet placed above the footstool and hand on his knee, he really looked majestic.

"I'm no Prince... I'm just a human female even though I might not look like one. Your intelligence surely knows that! So, I can never become the Prince of your marvelous realm. Please everyone should not kneel in front of me... So... Since that is cleared, I'll take my leave. Hope I won't be disturbed anymore" , Xing grinned and bowed at everyone and turned to leave.

"Stop!", the Heavenly Emperor banged the armrest of his Throne and the entire place lit up with a dozen of lightnings and a stomach churning loud noise of thunders made her freeze. Everyone kneeling stood up and bowed in front of their Emperor and asked him to calm his anger.

Xing's plastered grin gradually reduced and she pursed her lips and her eyes exuded her annoyance. She was not willing to be still tied to the heavens. Didn't she already finish her said 'destiny'? So why are they bringing up something else now? Why aren't they leaving me alone? Prince or whatever!

"What?", her tone held no respect to the one glaring at her from high above with lightning bursting out from him. Fei Lian fisted his hands and got to his defensive pose as he realised she has decided to fight back the Emperor of Heavens. She might get hurt!

"You wish to be a mortal?", the Heavenly Emperor looked at her pretty pissed off.

"Yes! You got it! I am already one.. ", Xing smiled patting her chest as if she was relieved, "And tone down with the thunders. I can't hear you well!", she tried to turn the situation back, as she noticed Fei Lian signalling her to calm down.

Well, the Heavenly Emperor answered her by another round of loud clapping thunder.

"You destroying the psyche of one of us as a mortal is considered sacrilege. Are you willing to accept the punishment?", he roared his voice louder than the clapping thunder instilling fear in the hearts of everyone.

One of them...? Did he seriously say that? So why was I asked to kill him? And if that was that big a transgression, why was there no one who advised me against it or helped me when I needed help?

Xing was pissed, " Oh really? So where were you when I was fighting Old Rong? Why didn't you try to get his psyche from attaching to my man? He left me with no choice and you stood by and watched....", she shouted back, "This stupid bleached peacock! To think that I'd let that old fat god attack my Prince", she mumbled the last sentence and looked around to find the exit.

"How dare you talk to our Emperor like this?", Mazu took larger strides and got near Xing to slap her. Mazu looked like she really wanted to shame this mortal who always gets ahead for some reason even though she is just a mortal.

She was a nobody who was supposed to be thrown away like trash the day she was born but was saved by Fei Lian and later turned out to be the Chosen One and now she is the Prince of Heavens? If she becomes an immortal, won't Fei Lian go behind her? She wanted to end her right then and there.

Xing who was looking around to find the exit wondered about the other one who always opposed her but couldn't find her anywhere.

Where is Zhu Rong? And why did Mazu bring me here? Are they planning something? I better get back!

Xing was in deep thoughts and could not react to Mazu in the right time and before she could step back, she was pushed back by a strong wind that enveloped her and it cushioned her from falling on her butt and a tall figure with beautiful golden hair stood in between her and Mazu. Xing felt like her ears were stuffed with cotton and she could not hear anything happening around her but could only watch them.

As Xing was watching, Fei Lian grabbed the hand of Mazu that was raised to hit her with one hand and without giving her a chance to compose herself slapped Mazu with the back of his other hand.

Xing was utterly flabbergasted and she closed her mouth with both of her hands. The entire hall was surprised too even the Heavenly Emperor.

A god slapped another god in front of everyone! Fei Lian hit a woman!

Mazu who did not expected that slap fell on the floor with her hands supporting her and there was a streak of blood seeping on her cheek as Fei Lian's ring had scuffed her and tears started streamed down her face out of shock and shame.

Wow! Why is a god crying being hit by another? Shouldn't she slap him back? I know I would! Xing wondered as if she forgot that Fei Lian hit Mazu for her.

And then there was the Heavenly Emperor angrily saying something to Fei Lian and Mazu seemed to be shielding him from the Emperor and Mazu's face contorted with anger as she looked at Xing with enough fury that made Xing be thankful to whomever in charge because...Looks cannot kill. If they could, she'd be long dead.

Then Fei Lian squatted in front of Mazu who was still on the floor and placed his hands on her shoulders and made her look at him and it seemed like he was explaining her something.

Xing could not see Fei Lian's face and only his back view and she could only see Mazu. As Xing was watching she could see Mazu's expression changing from wrath to surprise to guilt as she looked at her with extreme sadness and she hid her face in her hands and started to cry and Fei Lian hugged her to coax her.

Xing watched this display of public affection and wondered what did Fei Lian say for this change in attitude of Mazu. The other gods were shocked to hear what Fei Lian said too and they looked at Xing wide eyes as if she had three eyes or something.

OK! They accepted me as Prince of Heavens rather easily. So what could have surprised them to this extent?

Xing wondered for a long five seconds and then remembered that her man would be waiting for her and decided to get out of this bubble and get back to where she belonged. Finally! Finally I'm able to live with my Prince with no worries...

She tried to break the wind bubble and the Heavenly Emperor helped her by snapping his fingers and then she could hear and the other gods were mumbling and the Heavenly Emperor's majestic voice brought the chattering to an end.

As Xing was pulled down forcefully the last thing she heard was Fei Lian's despaired shout, "What did you do, Mazu?"

And Mazu's heart wrenching cry,

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I didn't know! Forgive me... "

Everything in front of Xing blurred as the pull got more stronger and she felt pain all over as if she's been squeezed hard.
