The next day, Xing went to visit Lord Zhong and tried to talk to her Uncle Feiye but he couldn't be found. So she left after instructing Lord Zhong that it is extremely important for her to meet her uncle.

As she was about to enter the inner palace, she was stopped by a voice,

" Lo... ", Xing turned to look at him and cleared her throat refusing to call him 'Lord' , " Official Ran! ", She smiled elegantly,

Lord Ran was stunned to see her. Till now he had heard that Huang Mingxia was extremely beautiful from other people from the palace who had seen her but he never expected a heaven defying, earth shattering beauty in front of him. Xing looked around to see not many people around, only a couple of guards were there.

Xing smirked, so this guy is certainly planning something big for tomorrow. What might that be?

Xing took a step forward and her elegant smile turned into a scary smirk and her dark eyes turned cold, " Official Ran", She said in a deep tone inciting fear in him, " Know your place! You, a mere official is refusing to address me, the Noble Consort properly and you are referring my grandmother who's world apart from your status by her given name? How dare you?", she took another step forward and Lord Ran took three steps backward in fear.

" Hmpf ", Xing sneered," If that's not enough to punish you, me screaming that you tried to attack me will be enough to make your head roll on the ground right now", she paused and gave a cold smirk seeing his eyes wide in fear,

"Do you think the Emperor needs more reason to kill you other than this, considering you tried to kill him?", she raised her eyebrows and Lord Ran trembled looking at her eyes that looked like an endless abyss. Is she going to swallow me?

" I swear to you... ", Before she continued, she felt someone behind her trying to grab her and turned immediately.

" How could you talk to my father like this?", the First young miss of the Ran family tried to grab her arms and Xing dodged making her slip in the snow and she fell on her face on the ground covered with snow.

Xing always had a soft corner for this Ran Weici who dearly loved her father and she had a pure aura around her too and slightly resembled her mother in appearance. Xing loved her enough that even if her father brought Ran Weici to their home as a Concubine, she wouldn't mind. She actually wanted to have little sisters!

She must have been here to visit her sister, Xing thought and she was sad seeing her fall on the ground and tried to help her. But Ran Weici pushed Xing's hands away and gripped her hair suddenly. Xing didn't expect that from her and she pulled Weici's hair as a reflex and soon a cat fight commenced.

Xing was never been in a cat fight before and is inexperienced in this area. Brawl, she can handle but cat fight, not so much. In fact, there were cat fights among women for her and they always grabbed the other person's hair as a rule that had surprised Xing. Now she realised why, grabbing the hair actually gives them almost full control of your body.

Wow! There is a lot to learn! Xing was wondered. But what should I do now?

Xing's grip on Weici's hair was light but she knew she could pry Weici's grip on her hair by holding Weici's wrist and pulling her pinky or breaking it. But should she do it?

"Consort Huang", Ran Weici whispered in her ear while pulling her hair, "I need to talk to you in private!". Xing realised this was a ploy by her to get her alone to talk.

"Okay!", Xing said, But how does it go from here?

"Enough! ", the Emperor's angered voice was heard and Ran Weici knelt down immediately in the snow. Lord Ran followed her too. The Emperor was perplexed to see Xing with disheveled hair on front of him. She doesn't let people touch her hair, right?

Wow! She really is in a tight spot. She attacked a Consort out in the open in front of the Emperor. Xing wanted to help her.

"She wants to be my stepmother!", Xing glared at Weici insinuating that she started the fight and the Emperor realised something was not right in this picture. He knew Xing didn't mind Ran Weici to be her stepmother but now she fought with her for that?

Lord Ran had an indifferent expression as he didn't know both of these women's intentions. As long as he wouldn't be implicated he didn't mind whatever happened to his daughter.

The confused Emperor who had recently gained an enlightened knowledge about women, 'When two women fight... Just stay out of it!' spoke in a way that he was supporting Xing,

"Mingxia, Send Miss Ran away after giving her a change of clothes", he said and walked away. He didn't care what happened after as long as they don't come to him for complaining.

Xing made a wronged expression and stomped inside followed by Ran Weici, to her courtyard.

Xing made her maids stay away and gave Ran Weici change of clothes and warm tea to warm her up. She was shivering standing in the cold winter with her clothes wet.

" I need your help ", Weici said holding the teacup in her hands to warm her up.
