Just Mine 54 Mrs Hembadoom

He watched as his mom tried to lift two heavy crates at the same time. He rushed out of the car to help her. Mrs Hembadoom Teffa....what is wrong with you! do you want to break your back before you reach sixty. Taking the crates from his mother...he carried the crates into the restaurant.

Mrs Hembadoom was shocked to see her son. Is this a dream? she thought to herself, she pinched herself. Her son use to come eat at her restaurant before, he would come every month...drop money on the table and not say a word to her, he usually dropped a lot of money. But he stopped coming all of a sudden. Smiling she thought to herself, his fiancee must have made him come. She wiped the tears from her face as she went into the restaurant.

Dwayne's mom will be 52 this year, she was dark in complexion...with pointed nose, black eyes, long black lashes with V shape face. She was a tall woman, she was a little chubby but didn't look her age...she looked younger than her age. She's what they call black beauty. Dwayne was glad his stepfather wasn't around. The man is a drunk...whenever he comes into the restaurant....he takes all the money the woman has worked and if she doesn't give him...he'll threaten to hit her. He don't understand why his mom is still with the looser.

He used to come eat in his mom's restaurant but the last time he came, after eating, he sat in his car, watching the restaurant. He saw his stepfather staggered into the restaurant...he saw the customers run out and heard crashing noise from inside. He waited patiently for him to come out of the restaurant .

Mr Paul staggered out with some money in his hands... before he could take the turn to his street, the next thing he knew, he was on the ground. A strange guy kept punching and hitting him everywhere screaming bastard. Take the money he screamed, you can have the money please spare my life.

Dwayne punched the drunk man hardly and he fell to the ground. "Bastard, that's for all those years you hit me, he punched him again and said...and that's for my mom" If you ever lay a finger on her again...I promise I'll break your spinal cord and if you tell her about this, I'll break your legs.

"Look at me" he yelled, look at my face...it's me, Dwayne. I am glad I am not your son....he spat on the ground. Mr Paul was shaking on the ground. Dwaa..aayne? he said stammering. Don't say my name, I don't want to ever hear my name from your lips. Dwayne kicked the man on his ribs, held him up by his collar....punched him on the face and threw him to the ground.

He hasn't visited his mom since that incident, he still don't get why she is still with him. If this is what love is, I don't want to fall in love, he thought to himself.

Dwayne stood awkwardly at the counter with his hands in his pocket....his mom came in and stood at the door, scared that if she gets too close, he'll leave. Why don't you employ somebody else? the work is too much for you. I have a student who works half day with me but she doesn't come on Sundays, I can't afford a full time employee...I'm just cleaning the restaurant, I'm not open till 12:00 pm...she said to him. How are you doing? he asked. Mrs Hembadoom couldn't believe he was talking to her ..she looked back to check if somebody else has entered the restaurant. Me? she asked....rolling his eyes he said,off course Mrs Hemba. I'm talking to you...is there anybody else here? come sit down.

The woman walked slowly to the table nearest to Dwayne and sat down. Dwayne sat down to the table close to his mom. The whole place was quiet, the only noise that could be heard was from the cars passing outside.

"How are you" they both said at the same time, breaking the silence. You go first Dwayne said. No you can talk...you drove all the way here. Alright Mrs Hemba just give me my usual. Feeling disappointed, Mrs Hemba stood up to go dish his food. I got promoted and the promotion came with an apartment and a car. She smiled to herself as her son told her about the promotion, congratulations son, I hope you like your new place. I do Ma'am, that reminds me, a lady was here last week claiming to be my fiancee. You shouldn't believe just anybody, she is not my fiancee. Please in the future be careful, I'm seeing someone now...I'm only telling you because I dont want you to be surprised when you see it on TV.

Thank you....Mrs Hemba said to her son. This is the longest conversation she has had with her son in years, she suspected the girl wasn't her son's fiancee but she just wanted to feed her boy. She knew her son and knows that he can't get married now, she only played along with the girl to get the food across to her son.

Sky dropped Tega off at the children's department in church...it wasn't easy letting go, he didn't want to stay there and kept on screaming....she promised she'd take him home and buy him all the Teletubbies cartoon, yet he was still crying. Wiping her tears she came down to Anton who was waiting for her...laughing she said, I don't know how my sister do it but I almost didn't want to leave him there... can you imagine? I'm crying and laughing at the same time. Laughing Anton gave her a side hug as they walked to the church main building. I gave him my small phone if it's any consolation, I told him to press the number one button hard and he'll call you. Thank you, Sky said smiling. I wonder how my sister is going to welcome me, she's in charge of the CCU department. What's CCU? Anton asked. They are the crowd controlling unit, you'll see them soon, they are dressed in uniform and smile brightly as they welcome you to church. My sister is always at the door of the church, she shakes hand with members of the church as they walk into the church.

True to Sky's word, Anton saw a group of people who formed two long lines that led to the church front entrance....you have to walk in their middle...they were so welcoming, they smiled brightly and warmly. Anton couldn't help but smile brightly as he watched them...their smile was contagious.

Brianna was in her normal position, smiling and welcoming people to the church when she spotted Sky and Anton. She froze, what was Anton doing in church and Sky hasn't been in church for months. Is something wrong with her son? no she has to think positively.... controlling herself, she stood still and put a smile on her face and continued her work.
