Just Mine 191 Naming the twins

She smiled as she she watched Dwayne and Soma at the corner as they filled the balloons with air. Dwayne was laughing over something Soma said, he looked so happy and they look good together.

It's been a week since she was discharged from the hospital and they wanted her leg to heal properly before the party. Sky picked her phone up and went over the message she sent to Neto. She looked at it with a frown on her face, still no response. And he has read it. Since they started preparations for the ceremony, he hasn't stepped into the house. She's heard his voice several times from outside but before she could go out to him, he was already gone.

She sighed as she kept her phone in her purse...her leg was almost healed completely. She smiled as she thought of herself as a mother, a mother of two, she's accomplished alot in the past few years, all thanks to Mr Jayden.

"Boss we are almost done, the guest are starting to arrive." Bones said as he watched his boss stare into space.

"Oh thank you Bones. I told you that you can call me Ms Sky" Sky smiled at Bones as she came out off her thoughts.

Sky noticed the way Bones stood rooted in one place instead of leaving. "Bones why don't you come join me in the couch?" She called out to him as she patted the sit right next to her.

"Ma'am I uh need your advise on something" Bones said scratching his head and avoiding the boss face. " It's Chiamanda, I really like her boss and I don't know if it's too early but I want to ask her to marry me. I'm afraid she'll turn me down, and I think I need to act fast because she's becoming too acquainted with the guys on the eighteenth floor."

Sky smiled as Bones finished talking. She's noticed the connection between the two and that they've gotten really close. She's been waiting for this moment, knowing that Bones is an old fashioned guy, she knew marriage will be the next thing for him.

"Well Bones first of all, i am grateful that you came to me for this. Secondly I need you to ask yourself these questions. Are you thinking of proposing to Chiamanda because you are scared another guy might take her away from you or because you want to spend the rest of your life with her?"

"Do you just like her or you love her? You have to be sure of your feelings for her before you make any long term commitment. I know you care about Chiamanda and I know it's not easy for you to make this decision because of your ex but you have to be sure before you make up your mind. Don't get caught up in the moment, put off the music for a while and if you still feel the same about her, then you can go ahead. The last thing I want is for you two to hurt yourself, apart from the fact that it'll affect your work, I don't want to see either of you hurt."

Bones sighed as he stood up. "Thanks boss, you just made somethings clear to me."

Sky was about to check her phone for a new message when her mom's singing distracted her. Her mom was dressed in her native attire. Two wrapper, a blouse and gele. "Mom do I need to tie the gele? I can just go for something simple. It's not like i'm married, I am a single mom, I can wear anything. The society is already talking about me."

"Common now Mena, since when did you care about what people say. You should be celebrating and most mother's wear these things for occasions like this. You have refused to tie the two wrapper and since we have finally settled for a long lace dress and gele and a skirt and blouse and gele, there's no going back. Now come along, you need to get dressed, the guest are starting to arrive."

As Sky stood up to drop sweatpea in her bed and follow her mom, she heard Neto's voice outside. He's been avoiding her since she got back from the hospital. She had sent a text to him last night, telling him that she has something to say to him and that they need to talk. She was hoping he would come early this morning so they could talk before the whole thing but instead he didn't reply her message. "Did he change his mind already?" Sky thought to herself as she made her way to the door.

"Young lady where are you off too? Your room is the other way." Mrs Onome called out to her daughter smiling.

"Mom I just need to speak to someone briefly."

"Don't worry dear you'll have all the time in the world to talk to Neto later. It's rude to keep the guest waiting now hurry along. Jenna will watch the twins. Mrs Onome walked up to her daughter, grabbed her shoulder and pushed her towards the direction of her room. She saw the longing in her daughters eyes as she heard Neto's voice. Their plan worked. She had told Neto to avoid Sky to see her reaction and she was right. Her daughter was in love with the young man and can't keep it hidden anymore.

Neto arrived thirty minutes after the ceremony started and sat behind the church members. He saw Sky in her native attire and smiled, she looked beautiful like a bride. She was wearing a long silk green lace dress and a peach gele. When he got her message yesterday, he was tempted to reply but he held back. He saw her searching through the crowd and put his head down. He reached into his jacket pocket and smiled.

Neto was deep in thought when someone tapped him. "Hey man Ms Sky said you should hold your daughter and come join her at the front. It's time to name the twins." Dwayne kissed sweatpea II in the cheek before he handed her to Neto and smiled. "I have to go now man ....the others are gathering, remember the bet....I hope I win" Neto said before he hurried off.

Neto was elated as he held his daughter, as he looked up to Sky, she was looking straight at him and urging him to come stand with her at the front with the priest. He didn't think he will be given the opportunity to be present in their naming. As he walked closer to Sky his heart felt at ease

Sky noticed the way Neto was walking slowly. She dragged him to her side with her free hand as she got close to him. "Hey I have been trying to reach you. Here are their names." She handed him a paper with the names of the twins. "We haven't shared it among the guest yet cause I wanted you to see it first, your mom gave me the Igbo names. The moment we call their names, my mom will give them out. I'm also trying to make them all suffer." Sky said as she looked at her family at the other end as they waited patiently and she smiled at them wickedly.
